Infernal devices is actually the prequel to Mortal Instruments, so finishing the Mortal Instruments afterwards it actually kind of perfect for you :) I read Mortal Instruments first this year and I finished the clockwork prince today ☺️🌸 I will move onto the next books maybe before the end of the year, maybe il start early next year

You should read The Treachery of Beautiful Things by Ruth Frances Long; it would be perfect for the fall because it takes place in a forest and it’s a mix of fairytale, romance and suspense!

Cassandra Clare is such a comfort author for me, I highly recommend checking them all out. It definitely takes a while to read them all since there’s 5 series in the shadowhunter world and 2 collections of short stories but i would recommend after finished The Infernal Devices, reading the rest in this order, it’s release order i think but also helps understand everything better too: * The Mortal Instruments series * The Bane Chronicles (a book of magnus babe short stories) * Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy (short story collection) * The Dark Artifices series * Ghosts from the Shadow Market (another short story collection) * The Last Hours series (the final book in the trilogy releases in January so perfect timing!) It’s such a fun world and so many well developed characters and storylines and romances, it’s just the best world to emerge into!

So many good book recs! I LOVE the Infernal Devices series! I would definitely recommend the Last Hours trilogy. She is currently writing this series, and the final book is coming out this January.

I recently read the Infernal Devices series after hearing how much you were enjoying the first book. I really got caught up in the story, love the characters and read the three books in just a few days. I then watched the Shadow Hunters series on Netflix (okay watched the three series non stop over a week while I was ill) and then went out and bought the boxset of Mortal Instruments! Currently reading book five and totally engaged with the story. Yes there are some differences between the books and the tv series, but I’m enjoying both versions immensely! Thank you for mentioning the various series, I’d seen them around in bookstores but never thought to read them until you started talking about them. And I still can’t pick between team Jem and team Will - I think I’m team both 🤩✨

I bought a beautiful copy of Persuasion-can’t wait to read it too!!!

Abigail, you need to read A man called Ove. It’s one of those books that seem boring at the beginning but is like hidden treasure the more you read. I cried at the end; and there’s a cat in the book. Can’t recommend it enough. A 4.37 on good reads😍

Oh you should totally read the last hours trilogy next. It takes place after the infernal devices and is about the children of all the characters in the infernal devices. It's 100% amazing!!!
