I know some people might say that story overrides challenge, but I agree with your stance here. If a battle isn't engaging or lengthy enough to tell the story it needs to like Akechi, that takes away from the presence of his character and the spectacle of finally confronting him. I don't watch any top 10 videos other than yours, at least not expecting insightful commentary, because I know you'll always provide a fresh perspective and genuine design takeaways! Boss wise, Rise's shadow is pretty meh, but symbolism wise, I like it, I dont know why, but this way of saying "I want to show people the real me" by using stripping as a metaphor, while it does make me uncomfortable, is also something I find really genius, more so than anything else for some reason, maybe because it is kinda like an inversion of expectations, you think it's perverted but it's actually deep, that kinda thing

Great vid! I always love vids like this because it's like the best of both worlds of a top 10 and bottom 10 list, and also just makes for a more comprehensive critique I feel. I definitely gotta get around to playing this game some time. Great job going over what makes each boss work or not work and how they're place and impact in the story contributes to the overall quality of the boss. Also trans rights and Chie and Yukiko are 100% dating. Also we love Kanji and his sweat bois.

I feel like usually with ranking videos, I either agree with what the person ranking things is saying and have a similar list, or I disagree with most of what they’re saying and have a very different list. This is a weird instance where I have a very different list from yours but honestly mostly agree with your points. A lot of the things that I like about some of these bosses that put them in very different places for me are very subjective as I’ve realized

I have a question: Where would you rank/rate the Reaper in your hierarchy? I figure since optional boss like Margaret made it to first place, how does the Reaper in this version of the game stack up compared to other entries' counterparts?

I love the rise dungeon you I think shadow rise is a great boss and is a great story for rise

Persona 4 is my favorite game of all time and I like every boss but my favorite is adachi and ameno sagiri

The only ones I would flip are Kanji and Naoto. Everyone else is fine.

I agree that Shadow Mitsuo is the worst but I don't agree with the dungeon being the worst. I was underleveled when I first faced this boss so I had to go back and grind in this dungeon and the song grew on me after being stuck there for hours and the enemies you fight are kinda memorable (lots of tigers and tanks). I liked the theming for the dungeon, the music, and the 8bit version of I'll Face Myself is a banger.

You can’t like shadow kanji who is sexulized and not like shadow rise their both great in my opinion
