Kanji's plotline isn't actually about being gay (although you could certainly say he was). It's really about him liking hobbies that are not conventional to a male in society, like making dolls, and sewing.

Great video, Alex! I still need to play this game at some point (the only SMT and Persona games I've played so far are 5 Vanilla & Royal and Nocturne), but I'm sure it will be a lot of fun. P5R is my favorite game of the 8th generation, so I definitely want to experience more of the franchise. Anyway, I'm enjoying your content as always and look forward to your future uploads!

Agreed about the leveling gripe. At least in persona you can turn down the difficulty at any time to very easy to get more experience, but even that’s risky if you don’t wanna over level the protagonist or your other mainstay team members

Shadow Mitsuo is my favourite, not presentation wise, but if you play on hard difficulty he is the first boss where you actually have to defend to prevent the enemy from exploiting your elemental weaknesses, it was kind of an eye opener. Ameno-Sagiri on the other hand has awesome music and setting, but I loathe the rest, battle-wise he has no interesting mechanics and he- as well as his first form is simply an large damage sponge where you have to sit through a lot of uneventful minutes if you lose. I thought compared to him Kunino Sagiri is a lot more interesting with his elemental mechanics which you can play around deterministically.

Surprised to see this tier list like this, personally I did not have any problems with Kunino Sagiri besides the annoying mind control gimmick, I beat it on my first try funny enough, I wouldn't say he is the best boss or anything though, he is just decent. And Kubo's fight was annoying, the 8-bit gimmick did not appeal to me and it was way too long.

I played this game on vita years ago and come back to it every now and then. Definitely one of my favorite games of all time. I actually don't hate a single boss here. I never struggled with this game because I just grinded a lot. The only boss that annoys me is Izanami because the victory esque theme kicks in way too early and should have been scripted. The fight is barely started and it plays cheerful music . And every other fake finale felt better and more interesting to me than her. Ameno was much cooler and more engaging of a final boss. Persona 3 had way worse fights than anything here.

When I first played p4g, Shadow Teddie was my fav boss cuz he came out of nowhere and I didn't see him coming. But now, in terms of ranking: 1, Shadow Naoto 2, Shadow Teddie 3, Marie 4, Izanami 5, Shadow Kanji 6, Adachi 7, giant eye 8, Shadow Chie 9, Ameno Sagiri 10, Shadow Mitsuo 11, Shadow Yukiko 12, Shadow Yosuke 13, Shadow Rise

Persona 4: the golden(!) standard on how to make good tanky JRPG bosses. Even gives an example on how not to do it. I've two list requests you may like, one for a game, one for a series. For the game, Fate/Grand Order, specifically all the bosses in story chapters/main interludes, excluding the Fatal Battles in the prologue and first five chapters (the grand battles and those with unique BGM are fine, for comparison to later bits). Yes, it's a gacha, but also one where the bosses get pretty amazing by the time you reach Camelot. Besides, it's the most fun I had on video games as of writing. For the series, Ys. The forerunner of all Action RPG franchises, it'd be really amazing to see how you'd rank the myriad of amazing boss fights, and maybe the BGM too. There's no such thing as bad Falcom music.

Yeah, Kunino-Sagiri sucked. Due to the cryptic nature of his Quad Converge mechanic mixed with a bit of bad luck, I was falsely led to believe that only my team's magic attacks would be weakened. Given this misunderstanding, the fight was a slog as Chie was the only one putting in anything resembling reasonable damage. There was nothing Yu, Yosuke, and Yukiko could do but heal, support, and perform basic attacks. The kicker? It killed all four party members with four consecutive castings of Maziodyne half-an-hour into the fight (this was the first time it used any electric magic at all). I wanted to quit the game right then and there.

I'm confused by a lot of what you said. Kanji was supposed to be a difficult boss fight? Naoto and Kanji were the only bosses I cleared 1st match(hardest difficulty for everyone.) I mean chia, yususke, and teddy who you claimed were pushover actually beat me. I think the most hated boss you had was probably my favorite, the toughest of them all took me forever to fully do and when I finally did him in I was so relieved, with the exception of baby boss who also took me multiple times I had the rest I learned after a few times or Kanji and Naoto who I steamrolled over. (I never did Marie, adachi, god, or izanami, during adachi stage the minions got so tough that I couldn't even clear them. I was horribly underdeveloped all the bosses and my team just couldn't make up without me lowering the difficulty or farming for days to fight adachi, I gave up on the mini boss who 1 shot me almost everytime I showed up.

Only played OG and never played Golden. Only super boss I ever did was Elizabeth from P3, I'm pretty sure Margaret is easier but I swore off all optional super bosses after that because I never wanted to go through that again. Cytonox got that dog in them nonstop bangers fr, also thanks for saying my last name correctly

Lmao guess i am the only human being that like Kunino sagiri for the challange he posed if you equip personas which block fire and heal like every 5 turns this boss does not kill you every 2 turns lol at the other way around i do not like the pixel 8bit boss whose name i forgot again he was fucking annoying to deal with he was what you guys said kunino sagiri was but actually shit you could play as well as you like in his baby form he tanked a shit ton and i didn't like the character to begin with his dungeon was also in my opinion the most boring in the game with the most obnoxious mechanic i don't get why people always rank his dungeon and fight so damn high. And because i actually like Kunino Sagiri i guess i am not welcome here anymore it was a nice time see y'all (inserts piece to trigger anxiety again ;)
