A few years ago, I was an assistant PGA pro and worked within drivers distance of the Ping Europe factory in Gainsborough, England.. I was fortunate to be provided with Ping Gear for free.. possibly the best set I ever played was the beryllium Copper ISI irons.. pure class.. 💥💥
Always thought those were great looking clubs my dad still has a set of those. He never sold a club throughout his playing career. So many sets to look at in his basement, it is a walk through golf history!

I remember, back in the early-mid 80s, going into a golf store and seeing every wood & iron set laid out in those flat boxes like those!!! In 1990 I was working at a private club, in Bloomfield Hills, MI, and one of the new members came into the pro shop. We still had a new set of the beryllium copper Ping irons just sitting in a Ping staff bag. When he told me he wanted the “beryllium copper Pings” (he just kept saying “I want beryllium copper pings”) and he said he also wanted the “Ping bag”. We had metal drivers and fairway woods from a newer company, Langert, and he wanted “the best we had from that company” for his driver, 3-wood, and 5-wood. He then bought 3-4 of our most expensive polo shirts with the golf course’s logo on the sleeve and the nicest men’s shorts we had. He also practically cleaned us out of our Titleist DT 100 balls. He then asked us for the “cheapest” club/bag we had for his wife. (Nice guy 😮) He also asked if we had any ladies shirts on clearance. He finished up getting himself our most expensive sand wedge and putter. He also bought our most expensive Foot-Joy golf shoes for himself and a clearance pair of no name shoes for his wife. He bought his wife a demo putter that was pretty beat up. In 1990, he dropped over $2500 in our pro shop in about 30min. This guy, and his wife, show up later with another couple. He’s dressed like a tour player and they all pull up to the first tee. The assistant pro and I were watching and expecting him to just crush his tee shot. He hit, after the ladies, and hit the fattest duck hook we ever saw. His swing was horrendous. From what we could see it probably took him 8-9 shots to even reach the green on the opening par 4. This guy has barely ever played and needed the BEST equipment he could buy. When they came back in, I cleaned up his clubs that were just caked with mud, dirt & turf. The 5 iron was also broke in two. They went into the dining room to eat and I noticed his score card on the steering wheel of the cart. He “carded” a smooth 88. NO WAY that was even possible without some massive shaving. That disastrous first hole -he had a FIVE!!!!! There is no way.

I have a set of BC square grooves . 1 > LW . Paid 800$ for them 20 yrs ago and still can’t hit anything better ! That’s a great deal on the set you found !
I love my be cu Ping irons. A friend polished them up for me and they looked dazzling. As we played Eyemouth a Scottish coastal course on a beautiful day the sea air began to oxidise them back before the round ended! The dark patina is best although I like Ping nickel too. Forging is a bit overrated.
Interesting, last week I saw a full set of Ping Be Cus for the same price at our Edwin Watts in North Texas. I passed on them as I'm building my own set.
You guys need to come out one Day to Roger Dunn in Santa Ana, Ca. (Edwin Watts sister store) Hands down the best selection of used clubs ever. John would never want to leave!

We are headed to Orlando/Disney for Christmas and I was hoping you guys could make a few suggestions of stores me and my son can hit up while there to look for great golf deals and maybe a grail type of find. We love your channels and we are always thrift shopping for golf items. We found our favorite golf store in our state (GA) thanks to you guys. Make sure the ping eye 2 becu’s are all matching shafts and serial numbers. Super important for collectors. I have 4 sets of ping becu’s and 1 set of beryllium nickel.
@@HuntForParfection how do you know that? They didn’t check in the video. Still a good deal at 299 even if not matching as the becu lob alone can sell for $150-200.
Hi, guys. I am not a subscriber of your 2nd channel, but I clicked on this one since it was indeed golf related. I do have a question: what is the difference between the two channels? Why should I be on one vs. the other? Both? Neither? ;->
The two channels are now exactly the same (which is great.) But maybe you can add the Ashcam as a permanent feature on this channel. I realise there would be LOTS more editing, but that be a difference between the two channels.
