Mulan had so much potential as a live action. I was all down for a more mature- action movie about Mulan, but instead we got this shit. Just check out mulan: Rise of a Warrior from 2009.
While I don’t think Little Mermaid is worse than the Lion King or Pinocchio, I think my hatred of stems from its never ending preaching about “fixing” the old movie’s problems and acting like it knows better than the original. You can just feel it in almost every single frame and it really gets on your nerves.
Yeah like I’m not mad that Eric was the one to save Ariel. She didn’t need to be a ‘girl boss’ because that just wasn’t her character. She was a curious and naive person and used her wit to escape danger in the shark scene. Knowing she couldn’t take it on and swimming off as fast as she could then getting it stuck. She isn’t shown as the most muscular person nor somebody who would have the ability to drive a boat. She is a mermaid after all. And she saves Eric so it only makes sense that Eric saves her. It’s a payoff, almost a way of Eric saying thank you. When I heard she was the one to do it I just sighed to myself.
Bruhhhhh....HOW CAN YOU SAYYY that Alice in the Wonderland is a REMAKE and then place it in 10th PLACE! Its not a remake when its clearly stated in the movie that she already was in the Wonderland as a kid (the OG animated movie) and this is her second time in wonderland, she just didn't remember and thought it was a dream before...That movie is a masterpiece...it used to be colorful when she was a CHILD, she is older now and thinks more like adult so everything is dark and melancholic.
Agree with a lot of this. Don't agree that the singing in the new Little Mermaid does its job. Halle does have a beautiful voice. But these movies are like Broadway musicals. The songs arent supposed to be a break for something pretty. They are part of the story that are necessary. Every time I see Halles renditins of any of the songs it takes me out of the story and I see her on a stage in front of a crowd or on American Idol. And this could be the fault of the direction. Jodi has said her performance is all because of Howard Ashman. Javier Bardem is an amazing actor. In this he's a wood plank as are many of the performances. I definitely have more of an emotional childhood attachment to the original so it bothers me more than it probably should when people who did not understand the original story or character motivations are in charge of the remake. They create so many issues that werent in the original.
While The Lion King is second worst (sorry I hate Mulan more), it’s weirdly a way for me to experience the basics of The Lion King. The original movie is so precious to me I can only watch it like once a year because I get so emotional in it. The remake has the same score, which is one of if not my favorite part of the movie, so it’s like listening to the soundtrack (and believe me I HAVE the soundtrack too). So in a weird way I don’t mind having the remake on in the background while I fold laundry or cook.
I am ready for the sword in the stone, the aristocats, the hunchback of notre dame, hercules, tarzan, home on the range, atlantis the lost empire, brother bear, the black cauldron, pocahontas, and the emperor's new groove, and treasure planet.
I think the Cinderella live action needs more recognition, its a pretty good movie and I love the cast. I hate most of the Disney's live action but that one is a masterpiece in comparison with the other ones. And yes, Mulan fucking sucks.
I personally believe Mulan is THE WORST live-action adaptation out of the rest. Next to The Lion King and following up with the newly release live-action of The Little Mermaid too.
I'm not going to pretend that I like Mulan 2020 because I don't. However the excluding of Mushu was probably for the better. In a live action movie, he'd probably look weird.
i loved the 2010 alice sorry but also … glenn as cruella gives me such a viceral and creepy feeling because she was so good at that that i had to scrub through the video so i didn’t see her as cruella she terrified me. yes i am 27.
The worst thing about this is: - Wokes will call us retards for liking the original than the remake because they say that "not supporting live action remakes means you hate humans" - It teaches bad lessons to kids. Even some kids gtfo the cinemas because Ariel is black. Not that they're racist, but Ariel being black Doesn't. Fit. At. all. - Girlboss... I hate girlbosses that don't show character growth and development(I'm looking at you,Ms. Marvel). I mean i hate when boys underestimates girls, but if girls are so powerful to the point the males are useless, then that's where i reach the last straw. Call me sexist, but if the world goes extinct because boys are on Mars, then don't blame us,you wanna be the bosses of us anyway - Somehow people are still supporting this,DESPITE KNOWING THIS IS GONNA SUCK!(except for the live action remake of Cinderella)
I think, I totally agree with you re the ranking of these movies. I love the live action Cinderella and I've watched it a few times. I don't mind the mice in the original, but I loved the fleshing out of Ella's back story and the Prince. I like The Jungle Book too, but hated their version of King Louie. While the original Lion King and Beauty and the Beast were the best, the live actions were lifeless and one and done for me. Not buying the DVDs of these ever. Aladdin was ok, but Jafar was just too good looking. There didn't seem to be any reason for Jasmine, not to be in to him. Many of the others I have not seen, and will not se because of the casting. And btw, you sure swear a lot for someone who's 7 years less than 21.
So if they keep making every Disney movie into a Live Action Remake then that means one day we will get a Live Action Home on the Range. I hope this trend ends before that happens. We don't need realistic cows talking and going on an adventure to save a farm. The animated version was just fine.
My favorite Disney remakes in the modern era are "The Jungle Book," "The Lion King," and "Peter Pand and Wendy." My least favorite modern remakes from Disney are "Pete's Dragon," and "Aladdin."
Dude, your point on mulan were good i see, but i was chill til they basically force mulan with shang , where i thought she rather had more chemistry with the shifter, that irked me. But brsides that???! Dude alice and wonderland, it's version was unique compared to realisticly and bland remakes 😁 you sure you just unease by it being a spooky dark version. You did notice that everything wasnt always dark, everything was colorful WHEN alice was A KID, they showed/told. This was set in when alice is older the idea was pretty cool, story was good, had ye hooked wasnt just Johnny Depp. 🤣 (I believe i was able to remember that, i got a shty memory, barely noticed someone else disctibing my thoughts 😆 oh well)
Well I see Alice in Wonderland as more of a Sequel that Follows up on Alice as a Teen or Young Adult as she is Still having those Dreams, And it's not as Cookie Cutter as the others. It Follows up on The Original and is the Sequel we never saw. But You do You.
Okay decisions but mistakes are in their. They had the technology to let the dalmatiners talk. You can see this in the movie babe. I hated it that they take complete different actorsa as the original and that so often. Captain Hook doesn´t look like the original and Arielle is not Arielle. Where are Arielles sisters?
in my opinion most of the live actions i never wacthed but some i have and they arent really good but lady and the tramp is my favorite in my opinion cuz the dogs where cute the sets where realistic. little mermaid characters where very different like flounder is nothing like i dont see yellow inside him the colors look dead but sebastians eyes😢😢 but aladin is very nice jafar tho is nothing like he looks in the original he just looks younger like if he was his son or something wearing his clothes but its still a nice movie the jungle book in MY OPINION is kinda boring but also scary and bland but it was good also cinderella is too good like it was sad aswell but the fairy god mother is nice but live actions? There pretty bad, maybe cuz its hard to get something fantasy into real live action like if it where real but i hope they try to make live actions more realistic and fun
The live action Little Mermaid movie was terrible. Halle Bailey was a horrible Ariel. and I'm a black person. I hate race swapping. The Little Mermaid was one of my favorite Disney movie and they ruined it was that crappy live action trash.
I think the mulan remake is the worst disney remake because it's awful the mulan remake liddetally missed the hole point of the original mulan because the mulan remake has a boring story boring characters and terrible fights scenes and they made mulan in the disney remake so boring
