I like how they said monster carrots ability to turn people into carrots is weird in the beginning of the series, yet the buu, the last villain in Z, turns people into candy, not much has changed😅
Kid Goku had a Kanji character on his gi before he met Master Roshi, that was given to him by Grandpa Gohan. That was literally the first Kanji that was ever shown.
You neglect to mention one very important aspect of these kanji. When they wear, is also important. For example the Z fighters wear certain kanji to represent their teacher. Goku wears the turtle symbol after he trains with Roshi. He then wears King Kai’s symbol next because King Kai was his next teacher. Who was Goku’s next teacher? Well it was Goku in 100 times normal gravity. Thus he wears the Goku symbol next while on Namek. As you mention Gohan wears Piccolos symbol. And later in the series Goku and Vegetable wear Whis’s symbol next so... there you have it. Most of the symbol represent who they are in the show and they also represent a badge of respect representing their teachers. Which is pretty cool!
The 'go' in Goku's name reads satori or satoru, means to realise, but on a spiritual level. Which translate to Enlightment. Thats why when Goku first carry this symbol he could read Krillins mind without know how he learn that. And how he could dodge the the Ginyu Force without appear to be movin at all. goku doesn't really seem to care what clothes he wears as long as they have good freedom of movement. there is a long established precedent throughout dragon ball of goku wearing out his clothes and his friends treating him to new ones. he'd probably wear anything he could fight in no matter what it said on it.
I bought a piccolo "doll" figure, cloth clothing. Back in 1998 1999 @ EB games people returned everyone i did too, i remember the clerks joking saying "we gotta get some senzus" lmfao! The dolls legs where ALWAYS broken. They retailed 20.00 and about 10inch tall. Irwin toys.
I think it makes more sense for the comfort/ease kanji, on Yamcha, to symbolize his goal of wanting to be comfortable around girls. It would also be a reference, and play on words, to his “cool-guy” attitude.
Which is weird, considering it's expected for Pilaf's name to be written in katakana instead. Toriyama puns or just style, I guess. (Although ピ looks kinda cool too)
I found out about the kanji being a pun on sun wu kong cz i took a Goku jersey to work n she asked if i knew the story n shhe told me the story since it was from their childhood. Sounds waayyyyy coooler in person!!! Made love for the series!!

Too bad they kinda screwed him in Super , in the anime giving him the (probably) worst ssj form in the series , which is just... so stupid (ofc , made only by Toei) instead of finally cannonizing that fan favorite ssj3 future trunks from the early db heroes trailers 13 years ago, and in the manga he was kinda useless, though I much more prefer him being a Kai apprentice and his badass ssj2 vs Dabura from the manga and helping the way he could instead of turning Trunks into a literally Deus Ex Machina like they did in the anime
Fun fact When the Kame hame Ha was named it was not named because Toriyama didnt know it meant anything in any other Language.It was acctualy named after King Kamehamaha from the Early days and the Founder of the hawaii as well as the first Ruler of it.And How many of you know about this fact.
I always wondered why Goku never had a symbol on his Gi in the Cell and buu saga. The symbols he wore were always like a representation of his character and it bothered me to see it gone. Glad they brought it back in Super.

I always thought kame ha me ha, was wave of wave eyed turtle. cause he trained on the shore and the his turtle looking at the waves was the inspiration for the name. ha- wave, me- eye, but I never saw the kanji for it. There fore I dont know XP - great video great help it was.
Mercenary Tao's symbol indeed means "satsu", but "assassination" means "ansatsu" in Japanese. Hence, Tao is essentially wearing his life description on his back, or at least the latter part of the word. Thought I should point that out.
