Its also worth mentioning that Afton, while in the Spring Bonnie suit, uses a hand two wipe the blade of the knife, extremely similar to the way Ghostface does in the Scream movies. Which, of course, Matthew Lillard was one of the originals. Not as FNAF easter egg, but definitely an easter egg for Lillard's role as Stu.
Yeah, I was in the theater and blurted out "WAIT IS THAT MATPAT??", immediately felt rude, because I just disrupted the entire room, but it caught me so off guard. Also I noticed Sparky and immediately had to wonder if Scott put it in there as a reference, of if it was directly saying Sparky is canon.
With Vanessa being Afton's daughter in the movie, it does feel like Mike and Abby are likely Henry's children but possibly under the mother's maiden name. Also, the hospital scene gave me FNAF4 vibes, but with Vanessa having the nightmares from helping her father cover up murders.
An interesting thing to note about Henry's existence in the movie: Whenever the owner of Freddy's is brought up, it is always singular. William himself says it, but that just makes sense considering William's ego. But even the training tape only references a single owner
It's very possible that in this version William opened Freddy's alone with the sole purpose of killing kids, but I don't know. Garret's murder feels way too planned to have been without a motive.
I feel like Golden Freddy being so obviously a ghost-animatronic, yet still notably giving weight to the taxi cab could be a hint towards Midnight Motorist, where there’s an impression of weight for a three-toed animatronic that seemingly appears and disappears since there’s no footprints leading up to it. Also something I noticed, the withering on Spring Bonnie is strangely specific, it’s almost all on the right side, which is interesting since the LEFT side of Golden Freddy’s head is damaged in a similar way. I don’t know why, but I did notice that on the stage, Fredbear would be standing to Spring Bonnie’s right, meaning if something happened between them while on stage, it’d affect the sides of them that have withering. No idea what that means or why they included it though
It could also just be wear from 20 years of use, like maybe blood splatters on that side more since that's where Afton holds his knife, and it makes the fabric on that side degrade somewhat faster.
Lowkey I was thinking the same thing, it's a weird coincidence of how Goldne Freddy can have a physical mass and physical body that can move, but then be able to just dissappear completely without a trace as if he was a ghost. I believe that it has to be a hint towards solving midnight motorist maybe.

I noticed that the songs lyrics fit surprisingly well with the version of the story we see in the movie, which with the inclusions of sparky the dog, Purple Guy being the phone guy, dream theory, vanessa being williams daughter, mike shmidtt being unrelated to william afton, and finally sans=ness, makes it seem like the movie was specifically built off of incorrect theories to make the entire thing un-theorizable. You cant theorize about the games based off of the movie, because so much of the movie is completely wrong. Very very clever on Scotts part
For the role Mark was supposed to play, he was actually going to play Fritz (the night guard from the start of the movie), as confirmed by MatPat in his most recent video on Film Theory about his cameo. As for other Easter Eggs: Abby and Steve Raglan are anagrams. Abby is pretty obviously “Baby,” and with Ella being a version of Circus Baby, and Abby almost getting stuffed inside of her… yeah that lines up. Steve Raglan on the other hand is a misspelling of “Everlasting,” just with an A replacing the I, making it Everlastang. Obviously a reference in and of itself to him never really dying.

I still firmly believe that the Ella Doll was actually just a re-design of Baby, simply and explicitly because of how they tried to shove the clear parallel of Elizabeth into it. It would make sense if they're not wanting to have the super advanced SL-style animatronics in their early 2000s story. I also think because of how the training tape was shot and written its a clear parallel to something like the Walten Files - where that world's parallel of William Afton had his partner killed or disappeared.
yeah I noticed he said it was an ella doll but didn't say why... I'm not familiar with the books so I don't know what the doll is supposed to look like, but the spring lock we see definitely has baby cheeks and seems circus themed.

It *is* the design of Ella - but my guess is still that its either a merging of the two characters or just a retcon of Baby's design to make her look more like an "older" Animatronic that she is supposed to be in this version of the story.

Not sure if anyone's mentioned this yet, but when Mike is asleep and hallucinates the ghosts in his dreams, there's an audio anomaly that plays over the sound system that appears to either affect Mike and/or the Animatronics. This could be a nod to the "sound illusion discs". Also notable when "Golden Freddie" shows up at Abby and Mike's house, Abby SEES G. Freddy, and then he's replaced by "Cassidy". And last thing I noticed, Golden Freddy/"Cassidy" has the same look on his face as he's closing the door on Afton at the end of the movie, just another reference to FNAF UCN "the one you should not have killed"
I swear the guy at the pharmacy's Chamomile line was a nod to one of Mr. Hippo's lines in UCN. I can't be the only person that made that connection. He even sounded similar to Mr. Hippo, like the old uncle giving you life advice.
I think it was a really smart idea to have this new Vanessa essentially act as the “Michael Afton” of this universe, while Mike Schmidt is someone separate entirely. I’m betting the 2nd movie will be a prequel with elements from 4 and SL, then the 3rd movie will take elements from 3 and PS. Also, it was confirmed that Mark was supposed to be the security guard that dies at the very beginning.
Man, it feels great to have a complete, actually good FNAF story where, even if there are mysteries, you still completely understand what's going on and who the characters are.
why was Abby haunted by 5 of Afton’s victims but not her own brother who was also a victim? Why would those life long friends want to kill her? Why was ‘it’s me’ written on the mirror and never returned to? Why did Afton say I always come back when he had never done so before? What was the buzz saw mask for? Why did Mike let Vanessa just hang out all night at his job repeatedly? How did Mike’s mom die? Why did Afton kidnap Garret from a campground? What was the point of the dream theory stuff even? Why was there an Isabel spring lock suit? Why was Vanessa so afraid of the spring locks if no one had been killed by them at that point? Why would Afton put the helmet back on while being springtrapped? Why did Afton wait all week before showing up for Mike? Why do the ghosts only know who killed them based on crayon drawings on a wall?
@@Echosinfireify I do think the movie has a lot of holes, but some of your inquiries are explained in the movie. Afton tried to kill Mike by proxy with the animatronics; when he couldn't because Mike escaped, he went down there to do it himself. The buzz saw mask has no plot importance for the movie itself, could be a torture machine made by Afton to kill kids/people or could be a movie version of the scoop, either way it serves its purpose of "killing people". Mike mom's death is also not that important to understand the plot: she got sick, died, and that's it. The dream theory thing was as much of an easter egg as it was to set up the explanation of the whole plot of Mike communicating/"going back to the past" in his dreams, as he explains to Vanessa in the movie itself. It is very much implied Vanessa was tortured/was murdered (perhaps) in the Isabel suit, and with her being Afton's daughter it parallels with the games which his daughter is Baby (Isabel's counterpart) and the books, which his "daughter" becomes, well, Isabel. Also Vanessa is a cop, and her being a cop Mike was probably scared of her authority and let her inside the pizzeria. The rest are either setups for the next movie (campground stuff), movie logic that is explained inside the movie even if it's dumb and makes no sense or just corny stupid fan service (the whole Springbonnie scene was just horribly campy and fan servicy imo). Again, I don't think this flick is perfect, and for a non fnaf fan it can be very mediocre, but you can understand the plot perfectly if you pay enough attention to what's in the screen.

Likely because the victims were able to tether themselves to the suits, while Garrett was killed in a way seemingly unrelated to Freddy's, and thus had nothing to tether onto. Why do the kids want to kill Abby? It's clearly stated by Vanessa that William Afton has some amount of control over them. Plus, they found her fun, and wanted her to join them. Why did Afton say "I always come back"? Because he kept coming back to the Pizzeria, first to kill the kids and then to kill Mike. Why did Mike let Vanessa hang around? She's a police officer who said the Pizzeria is part of her area, and he also wants to figure out what her deal is. Plus, she only does it twice - the first time, she comes in to help Mike and stays to tell him stuff, and the second time, she was already there when he arrived, and she stayed to help make the fort and keep Abby out of danger as well. How did Mike's mom die? That doesn't matter; all we need to know for the movie to work is that both of the parents are dead. Why was the dream theory stuff important? That was Mike's way of trying to figure out who kidnapped his brother. He states repeatedly that the book theorizes that your mind retains everything, but you have to know how to look for it, and so he keeps revisiting the same dream, trying to glean any details he can. Why was there an Isabel springlock suit? First off, I don't know who "Isabel" is; I think you meant "Eleanor". But to answer, it was a storage area full of old animatronics, like the Sparky costume. Unless you're asking why it was specifically Eleanor, in which case, it was likely just a reference. Why was Vanessa afraid of the springlocks despite nobody dying to them? Just look at them; they're _very clearly_ dangerous. The average person has probably never seen somebody hurt/killed by a chainsaw, and yet they're likely still scared of them because they _know_ they're dangerous. Why did Afton put on the head when dying? He knows people can possess the suits, and he's already dying, so he's giving himself the best chance of coming back. Why did Afton wait all week? To let his employment become established, and remove most suspicion that would come from recommending a job that immediately killed him, and either let the animatronics kill him or he'd come to do it himself. Why do they only know who killed them when Abby draws it? It's stated at the beginning of the movie that drawings are very important when it comes to a child's development and communication, and it's also stated that the victims don't remember how they died. So they're going off of what is basically the only reference point they have, which is the drawings. The other questions, I will admit, are less clear. But this is a mystery series, and it would be weird for a mystery series to have no mysteries.

It's unknown if one of those was Garret. 2. The "It's me" thing is clearly meant to be one of the mysteries, and it's not important to the story. 3. William clearly knows that if he dies in the suit then he'll come back, just like the kids. 4. To kill people? Duh 5. Vanessa is a police officer, Mike is clearly cautious around her. He confronts her when it comes evident that she knows more than she's letting on. 6. How exactly Mike's mom died isn't a plothole or even important to the story. 7. The circumstances of Garret's death seems to have been left as an open mystery to explore lately. That is, assuming that it wasn't just another one of William's methods for capturing kids. 8. Mike literally explains what the point of "Dream Theory" is. He saw who took Garret and thinks that the answer is still hidden somewhere in his subconcious. 9. It's just a piece of old Fazbear technology from the 80's to introduce the concept of springlocks, the fact that it looks like Isabel is either an easter egg or a coincidence. 10. Vanessa isn't "afraid" of springlocks, she just didn't want Mike to injure himself. 11. William puts the helmet back on so his spirit will posess the suit after death. 12. William was just waiting for the animatronics to kill Mike for him, and he might have sent Vanessa to check. 13. The movie establishes that sometimes children best understands things through pictures, it's the most direct way to communicate to the spirits outside of dreams.

Also the kid looks like the kid from the UCN image, which was confirmed to be a heavily distorted pic of Scott Cawthon's own SON. So it ain't a stretch to assume this kid is Cassidy. The Crying Child, being William Afton's son, probably wouldn't willingly lock his dying father in a back room, as he wasn't killed by Afton unlike Cassidy.
@@venomfan2020 there's no Cassidy in the movie, in the credits it lists the names of the kids. Cassidy may not even be in FNAF 1. CC could be in Golden Freddy in FNAF 1 for all we know. Remember a second set of murders took place. Cassidy may not have bene in the first set.
Two things I’d like to add are that in the top right corner of the drawing wall there is a pink rabbit drawing that resembles Bonnet from sister location, which I feel could be hinting that Circus Baby’s already exists at this point in the timeline, like a lot of people have theorized. There is also a small blue fan in Abby’s room that looks almost identical to the one in the fnaf 4 bedroom
The springlock scene also kind of references the minigame and fan theories that Afton tried overpowering the spirits by calling them small and pathetic whilst in the spring bonnie suit but it eventually doesn't work and he gets locked in the safe room.
Personally, I think they split Michael Afton's narrative role into 2 characters- Mike Schmidt the nightguard, Vanessa the child of William who knows a lot about Freddy's. I wouldn't interpret Mike's separation from Michael as something with in-game lore implications Movie adaptations from other mediums do this all the time, to make things a little more digestible
What is so bizarre to me is William kidnapping children instead of just finding them in the pizzeria. He also must’ve planned this ahead of time considering the license plate was missing and he knew Garret’s last name. And what ever happened to Garret anyway? Remnant testing? Was he the fnaf 4 kid? Was William just feeling like killing a kid? Was it some kind of revenge on Mike’s family? I honestly have no idea why Garret was chosen, it seems so random when considering William’s other victims.
I think the animatronic kids were in the pizzeria. But Garret was him starting to branch out. Serial killers may get comfortable and slowly move to other locations and methods. That's my theory anyways.
He might not have known Garrett's name: many serial killers collect newspaper clippings and other memorabilia of their crimes. He could have followed the story after the crime and learned Garret's name. He could have also learned the name from Garret himself later. I DO think the crime was premeditated, though, as you are correct. The liscence plate is missing. And where better to snatch a kid with as few authorities around than some park in Nebraska?

I think the COME FIND ME message & the Puppets theme being the second credit song, might mean that Garret may be the Puppet in this timeline (which makes sense since the Puppets spirit was very clearly a boy in FNAF 2). Maybe in the sequel Whenever Vanessa wakes up she’ll tell Mike about the FNAF 2 location, causing him to realize he never saw his brother’s spirit in the first location despite being killed the same way as the other kids. Leading make to go find his brother.
And it reveals to be he is the one got killed and he is actually super functional humanoid robot and his brother is never mentioned ever again. Truly original plot!
If Garret = Charlie = The Puppet, then that would mean Mike Schmidt's dad is the stand in for Henry. Considering we got barely any characterization for him in this movie, he might appear in the sequel(s) and we'll come to learn he worked at or co-owned Freddy's.
Could be that Garrett will be found at the remnants of an old traveling circus, since that could explain Afton being out in a random location in Nebraska. The games recently have been hinting at visiting a circus, no reason the movie couldn't follow suit. That's of course assuming that Garrett was a random target, and not someone Afton purposely went out of his way to track down. 🤔
I have so many positive thoughts about this film, and it's so cool to finally see it after so many years of waiting. To begin, I just want to say that Matthew Lillard's portrayal of William Afton is incredible, and I can't wait to see more of it (a sequel for the film is reportedly already in preproduction). Now, about the surname Schmidt, William Afton recognized Mike Schmidt's surname because he kidnapped and murdered his brother Garrett Schmidt. William likely would have seen news reports about Garrett's disappearance, so he was aware of his family's surname. Now, about Markiplier's scrapped cameo, Markiplier was initially intended to be the security guard who was killed at the beginning of the movie. Another cool Easter egg shows that the corpse of Abby Schmidt's babysitter Max is shoved into a Shadow Freddy costume. Not only that, but her death by Freddy Fazbear is shown to us through a shadow. Kat Conner Sterling has also hinted things about Shadow Freddy numerously on X.
Not sure if this was intentional, but when Max is lured by the ghost kid that possesses Freddy, he says “Follow Me” which seems like it’s playing on the FNAF 3 mini game. This also seems significant because (to my recollection) the only ghost kid that speaks other than this moment is Cassidy/CC.
Not sure if anyone already said this but in the picture with William and Vanessa, he gave Garetts toy plane to Vanessa for her to play with. This seems like a reference to how serial killers kept “trophies” or “prizes” after committing their crimes.

When Mike explains how he's doing his recurring dreams thing, he says he needs familiar things to have his mind in the right space. It's why he uses nature sounds to listen to too. I think Garrett's kidnapping happened when they were camping in Nebraska during vacation (Mike also has kind of an upset look when Abby says sleeping at the office was like camping). The question this explanation raises is that why would William also be kidnapping someone in another state.
I enjoyed the movie and honestly hope there are more sequels. I might be indifferent on this but I’d like to see a fnaf 4 movie or sisters’ location adaptation bc I feel like blumhouse could definitely push the limits with it
A couple things I caught when I watched it last night - night 2 foxy was active, and night 3 has a higher chance of golden Freddy spawning-someone said “golden” on the third day. I was really excited to see the movie going along with the gameplay of each night!
I might have over thought it, but the training tape skipping the showtime performance felt like a Help Wanted reference to the performance being removed from the game. Intended or not, it got a chuckle out of me in theater 😂

The cameos and Easter eggs made me laugh and smile sm I can’t wait for the sequel.
Mark was actually confirmed by MatPat (in his latest video) that his role would have been the security guard at the beginning of the film that gets killed! I took it that Afton stumbled to a halt when he was saying Schmidt was because he recognized the last name from when he kidnapped Garrett. That's why he looks up and analyzes Mike's face right after, trying to confirm they're related. It's not like he can just ask, lol.
Did anyone else notice how crazy similar the technician in the training tapes and Mike's dad. They look nearly the same , he just looks like a younger version. That's what I see personally.
I have a lot to say about the film. First, seeing it in theaters was great, however, the crowd was wild. A little too wild, as I missed the Mattpat scene dialogue when he says "its just a theory" because people kept screaming "he said the thing". But also I didn't hear the Freddy song at the end. It could be that my theater didn't get it or the audio was messed up or something, but I waited to hear the song and it never played. Sure, we got the haunting "come find me" at the end, but people were cheering, talking with each other, taking pictures, etc that you couldn't hear what it was saying. It really did bother me that we got not explanation on the Freddy mask torture device either. I hope they give us more information on it in the next film. I think it would have been hilarious if Mark got the pharmacist role, too. Imagining him with cleaned up hair, glasses maybe, and just saying "what an asshole" is funny. And honestly, all the references were great too. It made me think back to all the content I've consumed over the years. Can't believe its been like 9 years or something. What a time to be alive.
People have no idea who MatPat is around here so I was literally the only one who went into monkey mode pointing at the screen "Omfg thats fucking MatPat". But yeah, kids kept screaming over any random thing like "OMG, FOOOOOXY" and recording stuff as if it its not available online already. All in all, a good kids movie, nothing to write home about.
It's amazing that this movie was SO accurate to the game that it's hard to tell the difference between what was put in on purpose vs as a bonus! I just knew there was gonna be countless eggs in this! Just my two cents, I like your theory that the purple suit next to sparky could be shadow freddy, but my guess was that it was the hippo! It is hard to tell though since it's in the dark. Also about the cartoon 'A day at the zoo', it does make sense that it could be the origin of Fredbear from the early 1900's, it could also be another youtube reference to the first ever video, 'Me at the zoo'! I know the title isn't an exact match but it's pretty darn similar. I just love how much credit they gave youtubers in this, they are one huge reason this franchise became so successful!
I saw the movie in theaters and I was CONVINCED this 17:54 was early/unfinished/broken Baby I haven’t read the books so I didn’t know about Ella but considering the white face with red cheeks, the spring lock mechanism AND the fact that the band tried to put a little girl(whose name happens to be an anagram for Baby) in there I’m STILL not fully convinced it’s 10000% Ella and only Ella I just read up on Ella in the wiki and she appears to basically be ONE of the four different age Charlie bots that Henry built(if I understood the synopsis correctly)which just makes me even MORE sus that it’s a kind of Baby reference/foreshadow

I think the Balloon Boy jumpscares work because they’re unexpected. Your average viewer is expecting the 4 animatronics to scare you in some way, so when a 5th member jumps out unannounced, it genuinely makes you jump.
One reference that slipped through the cracks of the video, when Mike’s on the phone with Afton he ends it by saying “see you on the flipside” and I can’t tell if that’s a nod to the old theory that Phone Guy is the killer or if it’s meant to imply that that theory is true.
Thanks for this breakdown,man!!! I went to see the movie with my parents yesterday. We all had fun and loved it, but there were a lot of little details and whatnot that I caught and I didn't have time to explain them to my mom, they just kept coming. She just got an eye surgery and she was a little upset that so she couldn't see everything very well. Can't wait to show this to her to catch her up to speed!! Lots of fun being a grown ass woman and falling for the Balloon Boy jumpscare every damn time UGH we both laughed over it so hard lmao
I heard that if you scramble around with the name "Steve Raglan", you get the word "Everlasting." ...but spelt wrong. "Everlastang." Also William says Mike's name as "Micheal" before pausing and looking at him, which, makes me believe that Michael, Abby and Garret were the children of William Afton once, and with William Afton being the bad person he is, he couldn't keep them. Then (SPOILERS) being left with nobody but Vanessa.
@@RyeToast not only that but Mike and Abby's a$$hole aunt has blonde hair, and assuming that their mother (and going by my theory, the wife of William) also would have blonde hair (cuz they would possibly be sisters.), she would genetically give her child blonde hair, in this case; Vanessa.
You forgot to mention how Afton was basically also the phone guy of the movie - giving Mike instructions about the place. The only thing I was mad about with the movie was that they didn't give Afton ANY motivation - immortality, resurecting loved ones, even just pure hatered for kids. Nothing. He just lured kids and killed them, even going as far as to kidnapped one outside of Freddies... like... why? Just give us at least a hint! But maybe they are leaving that for a sequel...? Also, the "Mike" on the training tape was never explained or adressed. Was it Vanessa's or William's doing?
9:45 My friend I saw the movie with had a pretty good theory for how Mike Schmidt could still be Micheal Afton even in the context of the movie, Afton could have lost custody of the kids after the MCI or some other event, and they were adopted by the family we see in the movie.
Problem is, we've seen Mike's actual dad in his dreams. And we cant say "he could be misdreaming" cause the ghost kids look the same out of dream and Abby's drawings that relate to the dream look exactly like the dream
@@AshBlossomWorshiperThat would have been the adoptive father in the context of this theory. The biggest problems with it to me is that Abby wouldn’t be an afton, and Mike would probably be old enough to remember William and we don’t get any sort implication for that.
@@AshBlossomWorshiper To be fair, there's nothing stopping this from being a step-dad situation, since to this day we know nothing of mom Afton, which would kind of make it so Willy is kidnapping his own child . . . but i dunno, it might still just be it's own thing and not relating to the in-game characters as we know them.

I watched the movie knowing nothing about fnaf, but my roommate is super into the lore. It was a pretty average movie for me, 6/10, but thats because i didnt know much about it, but my roommate was constantly saying 'oooh this changes things' and pointing out some easter eggs ('i hate that book' being said like 5 times)
I knew the lore and have been into this franchise for 8 years, and I'd also give it around a 6/10, at least if I take off my nostalgia/fan glasses and just critique the actual execution of the film. Enjoyment was like an 8/10 though
The living room in Mike's house looks like the living room from Sister Location. There's the same lamp and a basket of exotic butter... that's really cool!
13:06 quick aside Cassidy is the vengeful spirit which is confirmed to have blond hair while C.C. clearly has black hair. *Spoilers below the fold* Due to the fact that the blonde spirit is a lot more aggressive than the others and I think remains after the others leave trapping William in the safe room. It's safe to say he's Cassidy. Also the fact that Cassidy was always just the 5th missing child fits in with this.
YES, thank you for mentioning the parallels of the Foxy scene to "The Silver Eyes". I think this Foxy in the arcade setting, hunting someone down with his apparenly better senses, like a wild fox might have, is just perfect for Fnaf and really gives the "supernatural but real" vibe. Also, alot of people mentioned Markiplier's cameo would likely have been the role as the security guard in the opening. Would have been kinda cool I think, but the actor that ended up playing the guard did a phenomenal job. Another note: you mention the credits start with the toreador march and freddy's laugh and then The Living Tombstone song plays. Actually the laugh and music box are part of the song's opening.
I did not think it was a torture machine...The Lore says the animatronics try to stuff the security guard in a animatronic suit. (Phone Guy said it)I think that was the way they depicted getting stuffed in a suit.
Mike talks about how familiar sights and sounds help him dream more vividly. I think the Nebraska poster is what Mike looks at while he falls asleep, this he has sights from the poster and sound from his headphones.
You might have or might have not seen it by now, but in MatPats latest film theory episode he reveals that Markiplier was suppose to play that one Security Guard in the beginning of the movie.
Spoilers (?) ahead, so don't read if you don't wanna... I think the reason for the three BB jumpscares is just the storytelling rule of threes in action, not something super deep, but I'm intrigued with the idea of it being an ARG setup! I hope (once Universal and the other AMPTP studios remove their heads from their respective rectums) that the second movie plays a bit more with the lore yet continues the balance between the games', the books', and its own continuity's lore.
For how much hidden lore puzzles are in each game and in their mini games, it would be insane if Scott secretly set up the same type of Easter eggs in the movies
The starry blanket that one of the blanket forts is made out of is probably a reference to the pirates cove curtain. Since foxy is located next to the main stage in the movie, there was probably no reason to give him a special curtain
i came up with an explanation for the movie lore and why it doesn't perfectly match up with the games while talking about it with my friend: i think of it similarly to how people think of the books, an alternate universe basically. My conclusion was that Vanessa in the movie takes the place of Michael in the games, except she doesn't have the guilt of accidentally causing a sibling's death and so is more, like, able to pull away from William's abuse and manipulation. the theory that Michael in the games works for his dad or is at least an accomplice for him until after Sister Location is something I've always thought had a good reasoning behind it and i think that's what the movie is telling us. Michael helped his dad or at least knew what his dad was doing and did nothing, until a certain point, I'm saying Elizabeth's death is what snapped him out of it because it's someone he cares for dearly that died. In the movie as well, Abby being the reason Mike does things also adds to this; if Elisabeth was born after the crying child's death, it would make more sense why Michael would keep quiet about William's murder spree for his sister's sake. (and why Elisabeth doesn't show up but has a bedroom in the fnaf 4 mini games, she wasn't born yet but they might have been setting up a bedroom for her birth) I'm not entirely sure why people think Elisabeth is the middle child specifically but i think it makes more sense if she's the youngest like in the movie. i had also thought of, since Vanessa takes Michael's place as the complicit child of William Afton, the movie could give us an idea of game Vanessa's backstory through Mike. someone who desperately needed a job and so took one that she was less than happy about at Freddy's. except, she doesn't have an Abby to take care of like Mike does, so she falls prey to William's mental control over her, so she becomes subordinate to him and the animatronics are never, idk they're unable to break free from William's control until later? i don't know if I'm expressing myself well, but these were just my thoughts on the movie : )
The "new flavor" the chica's magic rainbow employee talks about is called "rainbow explosion" which I'm 99% sure references the rainbow canon special attack
My favorite Easter egg was Dream Theory. Because the coworker Mike explains it to is like "That's dumb, you believe this?... Can I keep it?" Kinda like... A parallel, if you will... To Scott to the theory fans 👀
MatPat just released a video explaining his cameo so no, Markiplier was supossed to be the 1st guard. In essence, Mark was gonna open the movie (a la Drew Barrymore in Scream)
In Mike's first night at Freddy's, Bonnie is the first to move and it's around 3am, just like in the first game. Similarly, Bonnie also killed the man in the storage closet, a place he is often seen in FNAF 1!

Honestly, I thought that the Ella doll animatronic was actually supposed to be a stylized Circus Baby, especially considering that when the animatronics were trying to turn Abby into "one of them", Chica tries to stuff her into that specific springlock suit. It being a suit of Baby would've worked as a really cool reference to how Elizabeth dies in the games (that is, if we consider that Abby in the movie is reminiscent of Elizabeth Afton, the same way Mike is of Michael Afton even though they are not the same character)
