A round of applause for Roberta, Sabrina, Willemijn, Vajen & Lois ! But ESPECIALLY for Vajen, Lois & Chiara (Hamburg‘s 2021-2022 non-Replica installment). And let me tell you guys, they put Elphi in a harness and pulled her upwards on strings while (insert any of the 3 mentions above in here) had to sing that high note. The pressure alone the harness had on their throat/chest area must‘ve been insane. Vajen, Lois & Chiara all have the highest respect from me because doing that stunt was actually insane ! (There‘s videos btw if anyone is interested !)

Say what you will: you CAN'T be a bad singer with poor technique and execute Defying Gravity PERIOD. They're ALL INSANELY good and well-trained. Some better than others OBVIOUSLY, but you can't be a poor singer and sing this AT ALL. FULL STOP. It's one of the HARDEST songs in the literal HISTORY of ALL of Musical Theatre. 💚🖤

The fact that people hate on Idina Menzel but she both delivers with the vocals and especially a type of acting and feeling into the song and character no other has been able to accomplish. But props to all the other Elphaba’s as well, it is insanely difficult to play this role.
