No Good Deed┃Wicked Animatic 

This is when Elphaba became the Wicked Witch of the West. She was always trying to do good, but everything she did backfired. The Wizard labeled her evil, her friends and family turned on her, her lover beaten for defending her. After a lifetime of misery and hatred, it was the loss of Fierro that sent her over the edge.

I’d sure do like the expression on the Flying Monkeys face showing concern over their masters mentality

There are so many stories you can take away from Wicked. They give you the main part but wow. This scene just amplified that. Like imagine being stuck in an abandoned castle by yourself because almost everyone hates you and wants you dead. And you’ve lost almost everyone important to you, and you just want some comfort. That is incredibly sad, and I would lose my mind as well. This captured that perfectly

This is the turning point in her life. When she dicides "they all think I'm wicked, so I'll stop fighting it". And that dramatic zoom at the end, as if Glinda and Elphaba are linking eyes over the distance, really sends chills down my spine.

I love how you actually show her losing her mind. Most ones I've seen don't do her justice.

I loved the look in glinda's eyes she was like "what have I done I should've gone with her"

Honestly the most solid, plot-wise and animation-wise, animatic of this I've seen...like you can actually imagine it's a scene ripped out of a movie version, especially the part where Glinda shows up OMFG I'M IN LOVE WITH THIS AHHHH

This so encompasses what feels so real about Elphaba. Despite all her power, despite her goodness, her self sacrificing, and her dedication to healing others, the inherent unfairness of the world around her assigned her as scapegoat and dragged her into insanity. This rapid fluctuation of emotions here captures her descent into madness perfectly as she grasps for any trace of control after losing everything dear to her. Thank you for making this.

The flying monkeys was extraordinary superb at the end.

The cracks in her eyes -- you are AMAZING!

Yo this is super good! You did a great job making her look a little sinister but also beautiful and elegant, and you can feel her emotions through her expressions, and the motion of her hair from action and wind is so vivid.

Hi I loveeeee so much about this. The flashbacks to all the people she’s unintentionally hurt (especially the second one at 2:45), the zoom in at the end, the parts that are fully animated (which are so, so good). This is like, far and away my favorite animatic for this song

This is CRIMINALLY underrated

Bit late to the party, but man does this go hard. The mirror shatter, the visions of Nessa, Doctor Dillamond, and Fiyero, then the transition to and from it, the flashes of all the people she’d hurt (especially the last two of Glind and Fiyero in *that* scene), Elphaba’s slow descent into madness, and the final scene with the monkeys and Glinda are all nothing short of phenomenal. You’ve quite the vision and it shows, I can’t understate how much more powerful the song feels, even compared to seeing the musical itself. Extraordinary work!

This is still best best song I listened, Idina hit that last part real well, Poor Elphaba, she really wanted to do good, but after everything she’s been through after everything that’s happened, to the monkeys, her sister Nessa, Doctor Dillamond and now Fiyero, and she ask herself what good deeds are and if that’s the reason why, looking back at some flashbacks of the wings appear, the levitate the broom, and how she became like that, well it’s because Madam and the Wizard, because of them look what she’s becoming, and now this her statement to all of Oz, “So be it than: Let all Oz be agreed, I’m Wicked!!! Through and through.” And she’s right no good deed goes unpunished, everything she love ❤️ taking away, whatever she does or what she might do, she is not what they said she’s smart kind and very talented, and she’s very good with her powers and also good with sorcery, and there is still goodness in her. I hope the make whole thing to an animated musical movie 🎥 it’s just like watching 1994’s Thumbelina & 1997’s Anastasia this musical is totally better, the Miniseries animated will very good to watch and we all can’t for the musical to be in the movies 🎥 when they open back up, next year’s gonna be different this time and let’s pray for the virus to be destroyed very soon, and we all get our normal lives back now we have a new President. And Elphie, what happened to you was not your fault, and if have the chance to find the goodness within you, I’m sure all of Oz will love you, just like they love Glinda you’re friendship is stronger and good, and the Original Broadway Cast is still very extraordinary, 🎶No Good Deed, will I do AGAIN🎶🎶. Defy and Rise.

I like how you showed the monkeys feeling awful for Elphaba and the loss of Fieyro. It shows how much they care for her, looking up to her more than their boss, but their friend and would do any measure to return the favor. And I love the eyes peeking behind her before flying out of the balcony! 👁👁 👁👁 👁👁 👁👁 And I like the way Elphaba turns to see Doctor Dillamond, thinking about him too.

I feel awful for Elphaba here. She’s already been a fugitive for a few years now, but I think it was really Nessa’s death…along with Fiyero’s presumed death, that really pushed her over the edge. Imagine how traumatic it must be, to lose your sister, and to see your lover get taken away to be tortured to death shortly afterwards? Recently I read an article where seven actresses who played Nessarose in order to get a better understanding of her character…but interestingly enough, it also gave me a better understanding of Elphaba’s mindset during this song. “Sure I meant well, but look at what lamented!” Elphaba unintentionally caused the monkeys to go through a painful mutation by giving them wings. By becoming a fugitive, she unintentionally caused her father’s death, leaving Nessarose alone. And these are just a few examples shown here. Elphaba is a good person who always meant well. She just wanted to do good. But didn’t realize all the pain she would unintentionally cause others. And now, all of that pain, and loss and guilt is coming to a head here.

I love the crazy camera movements and the poses. They're so intense. I also like how hard you made her face. It really sells that she could become the wicked witch we see in the Wizard of Oz

Fabulous. I gasped at the shot of her eyes as the magic started flowing through her. And I love that you included the shots of other characters and parts of the story, because they're all connected here. If this was how they shot the actual movie, it would be absolutely thrilling.

I first saw this and it was very good, it was sad 😞 that the one she love is torture to death and she tried to save him, because of this the people she care for taken from her, now she is what she is because of the Wizard and Madam, yep No Good Deed goes unpunished.

This is... absolutely haunting

Most of Act 2 can be seen as Elphaba's gradual descent into madness, but this part was where she hit her breaking point. The ones in charge wanted to make her into the villain? Well that's exactly what she's going to be.

This is so awesome! And this is your first animatic? 😮 This is the best No Good Deed animatic I've watched. I like how you utilized the use of the background/castle and the winged monkeys. Also, the way you illustrated her powers and flashbacks is just so creative! And how you did some parts like the mirror cracking to the time of the beat is just so good. Also, can I talk about that ending? It's done so well. How the winged monkeys flew out as she was singing and Glinda noticing plus the flashbacks happening, AAAAHH, it's just so marvelous. You're so creative. You have an applause from me. I'm surprised that this doesn't have so many views. The people who haven't seen this animatic are missing out. 💚
