So neat to see your wife Becky at the end of this video. The reason I like. Watching u and your family we had relatives who were farmers so neat to see all the changes for the better. Plus I’ve been watching your videos I believe when we were in the thick of Covid. It helped to watch you and the family.
Thanks for another great video Zach and Dad. It was interesting. Like you office area that you had and are now getting it built. From what I see so far , it will be nice. Thanks to Becky for checking it out. I believe you and your dad will enjoy having that office space right next to the shop. Very nice!!!!!!! Now you need a small space for a small kitchen to fix meals or whatever. Yea!!!!! Sorry the rain got you stopped. Know you like to have beans done before going to corn. Don’t think you have too much beans left. Can always catch the last of them. Corn harvest is much more of a busy time. Know you are ready to rock and roll with the corn harvest. Your Dad is a legend. He is patient and has lot of farming knowledge and let’s do this attitude which is great. You are very fortunate to have him!!!!!!! A hello to Jim. Trust your recovery is coming along fine. Hi to Jim. Thanks for everything Zach. The Iowa Farm Boy. Steve.
Speakin' of Becky "approving" the office...where's her window and desk gonna' go? As you approach 2 or 3 million subs Zach...she'll be putting in that much more time and will need to be closer to the heart of the farm operation...right!?!
I learn more from his videos than I do 12th grade english class. I also am more entertained watching his videos instead of wasting my time learning the exact same thing I've already learned in other english classes. As you can tell I really hate english.
Would you ever consider covering the grain pits with a drive thru shed to keep the weather out of the pits and off the trucks when you are loading them?
I work at a whisky distillery and you couldnt imagine the paperwork needed to enter a grain bin with a power tool and no harness even empty. Good luck for harvest
Just think of a low altitude launch of a rocket shaped metal canister...fueled by a lot of explosive fine granular "powder"...and then imagine all the "launch facilities" across farmville USA🤔👀😵💫👍🪄🔮🪄🙃🤣😆
Rotten beans, ooooooh! It's been nearly 50 years since I grew up on a farm but some memories never fade and rotten grain is one of them! Good luck with the weather!
Harvest is my favorite time of the year videos. I take such joy in seeing Zach and his dad working together. So many years of history of those two working together, and now Onyx coming on! Pretty darn cool.
Hey Zach, Thanks for letting us "smell" those rotten beans.... 🤮🤢 I had almost forgotten what they smelled like! LOVE Anna and Didge and those little kittens are adorable. Mousetraps in training! Prayers for a successful 2023 harvest! Until your next video ~~~ Stay safe, healthy and happy! 🚜🚜
It would be amazing to work with your dad everyday but I’m sure difficult at times but I always appreciate when your dad asks you or tells you to do something I think it’s important to let him run the show cause right now it’s his time and one day it will be Zack’s time I think that would be one of the most special bonds I would love to be able to work with my faking like that
Hey Zach, I would suggest that you clean the posts and terminals on all of your farming equipment because most of the time, when I see the batteries in your videos on the machines, they are dirty. Please try to clean them as soon as you can if you have time during a morning
I had 6.5 inches at my place from this rain. We got back in the fields yesterday combining beans. We got rained out at 1pm today with 30 acres left. More rain tonight they are saying.
Hay for your grain bin chains and moving parts look at strike hold for it. It prevents corrosion and lubricates but doesn't collect dust it's great stuff I started using it in my shop
Man I sure geek out on your content. I'm a milk hauler so dairy farms are what I know. I'm curious, it looks from your videos that bean rows are spaced out further than corn rows. Is row spacing different with different crops, or does it just appear that way because corn is just a fuller crop? Keep the videos coming my man! Truly shows what it takes to get food on my plate!
I’ve done my fair share of cleaning up rotten grain. You should smell rotten potatoes ‼️. It doesn’t leave your fingers for days after picking out while loading chip trucks. Fun times 🥸😎‼️
I was mill manager at a Landmark mill in the early 70s. We didn't take beans just corn ant beans. So you can't imagine the rotten grain smell unless you have been there, done that lol
You can tell a good man by how he treats his critters. And, with bad knees myself, i understand why "Dad" swept and ley you knell to work below ground level. That last bin is a gear reduction box on a 90°box. Check the gear oil at least onece a year in both of them.
When my dad worked at the local grain elevator, they used to call the rotten soybean remnants “Bear $h!t”. There were stories of tossing pails of the stuff off the top of the grain silos and splashing unsuspecting bosses wandering around below.
I had to clean up corn around some storage bins at a feed lot one time when i was a kid. The absolute worst smell i have ever smelled was corn that had been setting for months. i DEFINITLEY see why you try to keep up with cleaning that stuff all around your bins and your grain dryer.
Listen Zack it's not that bad try to move everything around by yourself thank God my fields are all close to home sometimes I have to walk the way the crow flies at night in the dark
What is it with harvest. One is begging for rain when the crops need it through the growing season, then when the crop is ready to harvest it starts to rain, usually 6 weeks too late to do the crop any good.
