Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Editing this video I realized just how many video games I've played over the years. It's easy to consider it time wasted but to be honest... I don't. I mean, sure in a sense it absolutely is, but I really enjoyed myself thoroughly and much more than I would've just watching TV or some other form of entertainment. The nostalgia is real for me going through this and I hope you all enjoy!
hi ive only owned a used 360 original that red ringed so i took it apart to learn how it worked then i brought a 360 E still works great love these videos you should do one about all the computers you have owned
You're lucky you got a gamer mom. I had to give up videogames for 20 years after my parents divorced because my mom thought it was a waste of time. It destroyed my gamer mindset and only now because of the pandemic am I buying up old consoles to catch up on what I missed out on all these years.
Merry Christmas to you too!!!! Check out my Minecraft premiere on my channel in 66 minutes! My Christmas present to the RU-vid community!!!! I do know doing that is not really allowed but I will only be doing it three time every year...
I remember watching my mom play super mario on snes when i was a baby sitting on her lap back in 1995.. I was around 1yrs old. Later around the play station came out. My dad woke me up around 12 or 1 in the morning going to the store getting it.. All i remember him carrying me and a long line waiting for it.. Coming home and playing a racing game and those shooter game i remember playing all night. When ps2 came out in 2000's i was about 6 years old and i remember very clearly getting it for Christmas and a few games like grand turomaso and later final fantasy x after years of owning it it die on my 2007 i got my xbox 360 in 7th grade playing halo 3 and loads of games then ps4 and so on so on. Edit: I also had a wii too when that came out in 2007 on Christmas my grandmother(my mom mother) got me and my siblings a wii and i remember playing wii sports which was a ton of fun. I also had a GameCube way back in 2005 but eh i didnt play it as much like my sister has which she mostly played zelda and mario sunshine.
I was born in 2004, and in 2009 my dad took a job at Microsoft and we got a discounted Xbox 360. The 360 will forever be the console of my childhood. Minecraft, Skyrim, Trials, Forza 3 and 4 Halo Reach. Good times
Aw. Your mom sounds awesome. I feel like I would like to know more about her. Like a guest appearance talking about tech related stuff from back in the 90s.
Hey canuck homie, Absolutely enjoyed the gaming console video, man. I also liked the small backstory on why you love 91 as a number. For my first games, Mario 64 and Pokemon Stadium on the Nintendo 64. My favorite PS2 games: the Metal Gear Solid series (MGS3 was amazing), and the Kingdom Hearts series. Finally, although I didn't play it as much, I know Jon also logged hundreds of hours in Skyrim. Much love from the States, Manuel P.S. The LG Wing might be a fun phone to review.
My grandmother was an absolute ace at that "Columns" puzzle game on the Megadrive (Genesis). She would play it for hours at a time - after she passed away she still had her Sega plugged into the living room TV and ready to go. I think she'd burned through multiple consoles over the years, but the controller must've been the original because the buttons were so worn you could barely see the letters - she must have grown used to the feel of the controller and preferred it over the "new" ones that came with "new" consoles. If Columns had a competitive e-sports style community back in the day - I honestly think she would have been the champ - she played it for 22 years straight on the same controller to optimise her reaction times by fractions of a second.
"V-Tech V.Smile" _you have awakened my knowledge on 3 games that I played way too much as a young child and later as a 9 year old because of curiosity_
The infamous push down on the joystick button! I don’t think anyone as a child knew that it existed. When I used to play Minecraft on my 360, I would accidentally click down on the left stick which would change me from first to third person. I would then spend a really long time trying to figure out how to fix it.
Basically my first console was the 2ds. it was SO much fun. I will never forget Mario kart 7! the second one is the 2ds xl where I played Minecraft lots. and now I have the Xbox 360. I know it's old but it's the BEST!!! and most importantly have a merry Christmas!
The best gift I got was a PS4 in Christmas of 2014. My parents were also tricking me saying that they couldn’t afford it. When I opened it up I was soo happy. I used it pretty much daily for the past 6 years before I recently bought the PS5.
I actually JUST bought Sly Cooper for my PS2 lol! FF12 was my most played game on PS2 and I also got 360 afterward and was obsessed with Skyrim! So many hours!
Ive owned a xbox 360, Wii, DS, 2DS, PS Vita, Switch Lite, and about 3 PCs. My favorite has to be the Vita because of all the fun PS exclusives I never experienced.
This video makes me feel less isolated about growing up with a Nintendo 64 as someone also born in 2000, (seeing you growing up with an older generation console). My uncle bought an Nintendo 64 for my older brother back the 1990s, and I grew up mostly playing it, games such as Ocarina Of Time, Majora's Mask, Super Mario 64 etc.
I have the original Nintendo Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advanced SP, DSi, Flame Red 3DS from 2012, PSP 3001 and PS3 Slim. Family owned consoles are the Nintendo 64, fat PS2 and second generation Sega Genesis. My first console was the blue DS Lite in 2008.
Merry Christmas man, I remember the ps2 and the ps3 because at the time a relative of mine lived next door and he had a ps2 and a ps3. I still remember when ps3 was on a store display and i think it had a Tony hawk game on it. One of the first times I was exposed to video games. Although a couple years later, I got my first true video game system the Nintendo 3ds and my brother got a DSi. Then got the Xbox 360. I'll probably get the PS5 later on in the future, despite playing on a Playstation consoles in the past and never owning one. Great Video man, this was pretty cool!
I played the living heck out of the V. Smile, and whatever VTech consoles they had. I also played a lot of the Mobigo and Leapster consoles. I have so many memories on Pet Pals.
Holy crap, you're at 219k subscribers now? You were way, way smaller than that the first time you ever popped up in my feed. And RU-vid really hasn't been recommending your videos to me lately. Great work!
I've owned an Xbox one S, and a PS3. The PS3 is incredible. A lot of my games look and feel just as good as my xbox despite the PlayStation being almost 10 years older.
i don't get how y'all always get consoles for Christmas or your birthday my parents never did that, and we had to buy all our consoles ourselves so in terms of the consoles i personally bought, there are: - the Nintendo 3DS XL (July 2013) - the Gamecube (October 2014) - the Wii (June 2015) - the regular Nintendo 3DS (because the XL stopped working; October 2015) - the SNES (January 2016) - the NES (June 2016) - the Wii U (November 2017) - the Nintendo Switch (April 2019) - the New Nintendo 3DS XL (August 2019) - the PS2 slim (July 2021) and in terms of other consoles other family members had: - my big brother and sister each bought a PSP - my big brother, my little brother and i jointly bought a PS3 - my little brother bought an Xbox 360
I've recently been getting into collecting consoles as well! So far I've gotten the Ps1, Ps4, Xbox original, Xbox 360, Wii and the DS. Thanks for the inspiration Josh, happy holidays!
PS3 Skyrim was tortue. Load times with all DLCs would be in the range of 3-5 Minutes at times. But I've never had more fun on a video game, that goes to show how amazing Skyrim really is. I put aside a mountain of issues to play it lmao
Here's my list, to add to the void. I'm 10 years older than you, and I started handheld, except for pc games. - DOS and Win 95 games, Gameboy pocket, Gameboy colour (Also Canadian, haha), PS1, Gameboy advance, PS2, Sega Dreamcast, PS3, then as an adult revisited the DS Lite, PS Vita, PS4, 3DSXL, and 2DS. Holding off on PS5 (I usually wait for the slims). Thanks for letting us know what it's like for a kid who's grown up in this century :P
I was born in 2002, and I have that same nostalgia for the Super Nintendo from a "hand me down" from my older brothers and sisters. So I totally get having a retroactive childhood from older consoles. :)
My parents were strictly against consoles. So my first console was the XBox 360 I bought with my own money. Followed by the Wii (that was endless hours of fun with friends) and the Wii U (yeah I was one of them but still the idea is great and Nintendo should try again with Switch, having a home station connected to TV and the players carrying a Switch Lite or Switch and play in.
The consoles that I’ve gotten I believe in order and the years I think my fam got them are: 1. OG Xbox (2001) (before I was born in 02) 2. Xbox 360 (2005) 3. Nintendo DS (2009) 4. Nintendo 3DS (2011) 5. Wii U (only person that owns one) (2013) 6. Xbox One (2014) 7. Xbox One X (2017) 8. PS4 (2018) 9. PS Vita (2019) 10. Nintendo Switch (2019)
First I ever had was N64 with banjo kazoo ie and perfect dark being my most played, PS2 with enter the matrix being most played, the wii and the last one I got and still have is the 360 with halo 3, halo reach and call of duty black ops being most played
I think the PS2 is also my favorite. All the Grand Theft Auto games at the time and there was something for everyone there. Spider-Man 2, Tony Hawk's games and everything in between was great.
The consoles i owned and still own are : PS2,PS4,PS3,PSP GO,PS Vita,New Nintendo 3DS XL and Wii I wanna get a Switch next year and maybe a PS5 probably in 4-5 years when it will actually have games.
I'm actually playing Minecraft on the 360 as I'm watching this. I have a Superflat city world that's about a quarter finished. The limited world space is honestly a fun limit to work around in creative mode.
My brother had a Nintendo Console which was very retro and a N64 that Im setting up to play! I also have the Sega Genesis from my brother's childhood , I still need to get the TV cable but it works! I even have his old WORKING Ps2 slim that im learning how to play
My first ever game console that i got when i was 4 LIKE 11 YEARS AGO :O was the Vtech tablet that played educational games but it does not work anymore but i am not getting rid of it because it brings back so many memmories
I still have all my gaming consoles & games going all the way back to Commodore 64! That system had the best Soccer game! Also still have my Intellivision II (with Atari 2600 adapter), NES, GameCube, PS2 (with PS1 games too), Original XBOX, XBOX 360 E, and XBOX ONE! During the 90's was my adult days after college so the only games I played were pc games, if I played any! Other than hand held games of the 1970's, my very first video was PONG which was a black box with 2 dials & 6 D batteries screwed to the back of a tv.....😂😂
What you say is sort of my experience with the Atari 2600, Colecovision, and Arcade Games from the late 70's and early 80's. While many games on the 2600 were a pixelated mess, there were games like, pitfall, demon Attack, and others were the foundations of countless games to come, this can be said of the Colecovision, and other systems of the day. I think it's important to preserve these games, as not only do they preserve, they help show those who are programers remember what can be achieved with limited resources. I think looking at these games that did so much with so little, can encourage programers to not create bloated code.
Merry Christmas man. I've owned a lot of consoles throughout my life and it's hard to remember some of it. I think my earliest consoles were the PS1, GameCube, either the Super Nintendo or NES, and an N64. Few years down the road and I have a PS2 and PSP. Not long after that, I got an Xbox 360 and basically had that all the way up to the Xbox One a year after its launch. Did get a Wii in that time, which is homebrewed so I can play NES, SNES, and Atari 2600 games, but I still found myself mainly playing the 360, then Xbox One until now. I've managed to get some of those consoles I've had in the past back, such as the PS2 (both fat and slim models), and the N64, but I also gained new consoles that I never did have such as an original Xbox and my brother's old PS4 Slim we thought was fried until I used a spare 360 hard drive I had to fix it. I'm still on my Xbox One for now, but once consoles are more available, I do plan on getting the Xbox Series X. I feel it was the Xbox 360 that really won me over when it comes to consoles I had though. Between playing some of my favorite games like Dead Rising, the Batman Arkham games, and Halo or playing Black Ops zombies with my Dad and Marvel vs Capcom 3 with my brother, it was just always a good time on it. And even from the moment I got the 360, it was the one console that really made me an Xbox fan. That's something that hasn't changed, and I don't think it will anytime soon. Sorry for the long comment here, but I feel it's well placed.
Here's my list: PSone (Slim), PS3 (Fat), PS Vita (Both Slim and Fat), PSP (every version except 2000), Nintendo DSi, Nintendo Switch Lite, Nintendo 3DS, New Nintendo 2DS XL and latest addition - PS2 (Fat). Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
The Vsmile, I have a faint memory of something like it and I've been looking for the console for years, just that orange console with the purple cartridges, I can't figure out if it's what I played but it looks exactly like it, except that I remember the controllers being like an orange NES controller.
Late to the party, but here goes nothing: -Atari 2600 Junior (still have) -Sega Genesis (traded-in) -Gameboy (not sure; maybe traded-in) -Super Nintendo (still have) -Gameboy Advance (still have) -Playstation (still have) -Sega Saturn (still have) -Sega Saturn Japan Import (still have) -PS2 Original (traded for PS2 Slim) -PS2 Slim (still have) -Sega Dreamcast (still have) -Nintento DS Lite (still have) -Original Xbox Halo Edition (still have) -Xbox 360 (RROD) -Xbox 360 Replacement (RROD) -Xbox 360 Elite (sold; eventually RROD) -Xbox 360 Slim (still have) -Nintendo DSi XL (still have) -New 3DS Super Mario Black (still have) -Nintendo 3DS XL (sold) -Original Xbox Clear (modded; still have) -Xbox One w/ Kinect (sold) -Xbox One S Gears of War (still have) -Xbox 360 Kinect (still have) -Xbox 360 Slim Gears or War (still have) -NES Classic Mini (still have) -SNES Classic Mini (still have) -PS4 Slim (still have) -Playstation Classic Mini (still have) -PS Vita (still have) -Xbox One X Gears or War (still have) -Xbox Series X (sold) -Gaming Laptop MSi GL65 (still have) Now that I see it all written down, I realize I may have a bit of a hoarding problem! 🤔
