i've read many, many, many golf books over the years and almost none of them hinted at how to actually pivot the body except for hogan and maybe bobby jones. i didn't understand the pivot until i learned it on youtube from guys like you and others. it does not seem to be an instinctive move but one that has to be learned and practiced. what does seem instinctive is to rock, block, sway and extend too early.

Hi Marcus, great vid as always very informative. My mate told me about you about 6 months ago now. Since I haven’t missed a single video you or the team have uploaded. I’ve completely adjusted to the zen golf philosophy of what it is you are trying to teach everyone. I was a 22hc golfer with a terrible slice, sloppy shot. Today I shot 7 over par gross and for the last month things have just improved so much. I’m playing off 13 at the minute with everyone telling me I’ll be singes figure in no time. If it wasn’t for you and your team there is absolutely no way I would have improved in this short period of time. Yes I’m banging in 12/15 hours a week practicing but the correct way. Just a thanks and honestly I really appreciate the time you guys put in to help us all out. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

so this really helped me out. took a marking pen to my practice mat and made a target line and then drew in a line about 10 to 15 degrees inside that to actually swing along and it has straightened out my pull draw to something better that comes back to the middle, very nice, thnx.

Marcus, I really love your tutorials: you explain the material in a very simple yet effective way. Would it be possible to see more of these covering all aspects of the game. I realise that would be very time consuming but once every couple of months would be great. In particular, I would like to see a tutorial covering the toe-hook drill that you have covered in the past and perhaps look at what the torso, upper and forearms are doing in the drill. Thanks once again for your channel and your team’s work.

Marcus,I actually threw 3 balls to the right,then played my shot. Threw 3 straight, then played my shot. Looked around and 4 people in random bays were throwing golfballs.....(my shots were pretty good) Thank you again for reiterating the low point...and hitting through the ball,not just the ball itself.

GREAT VIDEO as usual you break all of the movements down to a natural swing understanding where and how the low point changes directions with our movements. You and your team always put out great videos helping us to understand this Brain twisting puzzle our brains try to confuse us with. Keep up the Great lessons!!!! Thanks!!!! 🙂

I love that you use the curved alignment stick to show path and path curvature. I played a draw for 25 years. Moved to a fade about 6 years ago and primarily used the visual of a hula-hoop going out to in as my visual to change my path. Good stuff! That front side pressure, brace, and then pushing up and around from it is so critical. Love your content

this is one of the best lessons i've seen on zen golf,.they are all good of course but this one really hit the mark maybe because it was just marcus and not only pupils.applying other lseesons. this one really clicked. im not sure why but it was great. shot 76 after studying and practicing this, really great..way too far for a private lesson. Please keep up the good wotk and to the wholw zen team a great big thank. from Kentucy in the US,

i watched it again and will have to a few more times but i see your point. i played a lot of hockey when i was young but we never gave much attention to all this but the puck action would always curve right to left when i took a shot from the stick coming from the inside and out to the right but like i say i never analyzed it till now. thnx for the info.

In my opinion, "the yip, the flip" as you describe it Marcus, is the conception about lifting a static ball of the ground into the air...most mid to high handicap golfers struggles with the concept of hitting down and de-lofting the club face to maximise the sweet spot. You as good golf pros focus on the low point being below the ball, but ask the questionof golfers, "what do you do to get the ball in the air"... the concept often replied by most people is an underhand throw... hence the problem... lifting...

Hi Marcus! Great video as always. I had a question about the pressure shift into the lead foot. You say have the feeling of taking a step to the right corner of the mat while also swinging to the right corner of the mat. I understand this swing direction is indicative of a draw, but my question is do you have the same direction pressure shift for all shot types? Or do you shift more straight forward for a straight shot and more to the left corner for a fade? Hope this makes sense. Cheers and thanks for all the help you provide us!

Great video. Reaffirms golf is a natural motion that we make difficult when our brain gets in the way. Throwing a ball is so natural and it is crazy to see that the golf swing can be equally natural. 5-stars! When you hit off the mat towards the end of the video, based upon your the location of your heels in reference to the edge of the mat behind you, you were set up closed. Do you advocate a closed stance for your students and followers?

The torso/rib cage play a more influential role in our alignment in golfing terms, the feet of course play some role but very marginal compared to the rest of the body, hope this helps 👍

Very likely that rather than swinging right with the direction of your swing that instead if you shifted the low point further forward it would assist with this 👍 use the GRF to assist you with the weight shift for moving that low point forward!

Great video…having watched majority of Zen videos over last 12mths, why is it you always seem to teach the draw shot?
@GRFGolf
@GRFGolf Год назад
Mainly first and foremost to access efficient sequencing. Easy to move to a fade with good sequencing. The majority of pupils come through the door with a fade as a result of poor sequencing in the first place. Sort the sequencing then adapting face and path becomes so much easier and the fades will travel as far as the draws 👍
@darrellduffy3866
@darrellduffy3866 Год назад
Why is it easier to access better sequencing attempting a draw?
@GRFGolf
@GRFGolf Год назад
Many reasons, mainly it encourages outward swinging motion of the club and sequenced rotation of body to do it 👍
@michaelmueller6092
@michaelmueller6092 Год назад
@@darrellduffy3866 not necessarily easier. But, have to unscramble old swing to get to build feel of proper sequencing. "Easier" to unscramble poor fade swingers with building new feels of proper sequencing with different/unknown path of draw. Once proper sequencing light bulb lights up, you can hit any type of shot. Make sense?
