Every Head Tattoo on Ink Master 

I imagine this shows ruined a lot of peoples lives, and improved some peoples lives. I feel bad for the artist that have amazing tattoos then get shot down if front of the whole world. Like you probably just ruined that guys career because one line was thicker than the others

Because it’s strictly about application, technical skill, art skill, etc. Not all clients know about art and what looks good and what doesn’t in the eyes of a professional, which is why their opinion doesn’t really matter. There’s so many people with terrible tattoos that LOVE them. That’s why. It’s basically an art competition.

@@ladyaki7069 Your point would stand if it was body paint, aka the people are *actually* just a canvas and can clean up afterwards. Whereas here they might always call those living breathing humans canvasses, but they're more than that. They will have to live with whatever is being put on their body for the rest of their whole lives. Forever. So no matter how little they may now about application skills etc., it should still matter whether they are happy with it. If you want to be the best tattoo artist out there, you've got to be able to satisfy your customers and actually give them what they want (with your own touch of course). If you can't do that, you won't be the best and certainly not the most popular.

Angelo Mordasini it’s just the tv drama aspect they try to incorporate, these tattoos take way longer than what they say. You can just tell what they say is fake and scripted most of the time. I do tattoos and I just can’t believe the stupid shit the complain about, especially the biomech on the head, that shit was sick and they made him look dumb just to keep the show exciting

They're blaming him for basically going too big, which led to the canvas needing to tap out and the tattoo being unfinished. He tried to tattoo a full head in 6 hours and that's just unreasonable for 99% of people - you'll go into shock, which is what was happening to the canvas

The whole tattoo was basically shading he was trying to kill that canvas by going that big

I'm pretty sure it was because it was too intense and traumatizing for his body and it just made him auto freakout from the constant pain. He did do heavy bold black lines which looks like it sucks for how dark it went.

Totally agree.. These canvasas generally are cool, but sometimes you get a douche. Tapping out because the ARTIST made it too big? No, usually the canvas wants something that normally would 3-4 6 hours sessions over a few months, and theyre like, no, all today please thank you its freeeeeeeeee!! wooo!!! Then after 3 hours of outlining and shading, they're already sat for longer than they ever have, they have no idea what thier skin does at that point, ie-its likely very swollen now, annnnnnd her comes to color, which hurts like a bitch any day of theweek, even the easy spots color can hurt.

Those are fake personalities. It’s reality TV but barely any of it is real. If you want to I suggest looking into what people have said about going onto that show, you’ll see what I mean.

Right? My artist was shocked how well I sat for my rib piece. After three hours I tapped for just a second, but it was so sensitive at that point. Sat up, took a breather, drank some water, and we finished it. He told me grown dudes tap after a hour, but I made it to three, then continued for another hour.

Mephala Le Triste I got my wrist/forearm done and because of the placement , my arm and hand had to be twisted in a weird way. I ended up spraining with holding it that long. 😂. The things we do for our artwork. To be honest though, my ribs really weren’t that bad. Or I’ve forgotten because tomorrow I’m getting my other side done.

Some of the ones they (JUDGES) didn't like, I thought were AWESOME!!

Right like the same way a artist is expected to negotiate the design and make form fitting body tattoos to that specific person’s structure... why cant to use that same criticism and energy to say okay we are in the tattoo business everyone knows different people have different tolerance levels thats shouldnt be held against the artist unless they have multiple people walk out lol i also can see the catch 22 with it also . What if a artist knows they are fucking up or the work on the design is not what the tried to express the the person getting tattooed so they just drill at them praying they leave for not being practical with the time and style vs “nah fam i want this free tattoo exactly like this for YOUR tattoo competition fuck your $100k prize and resume of your specific skillset 😂

@@aristotlen21 The most difficult, uncompromising canvases are the ones that are always upset with the outcome and on redemption. They just want big difficult tattoos because they are free and they know how much it would cost if they actually had to pay for it. Especially people in later seasons. You've seen enough people on the show who are TERRIBLE consistently, yet you STILL demand the impossible in six hours? They deserve what they get.

@@mlledj22 right!? If I want a really good piece from Ink Master, it would be when there's 5 or less people left. A nice 6 hour tattoo to me shouldn't be terrible if I can choose where to get tatted. A head tattoo on the show is a bad idea unless its for the master canvas, the finale 😅

@@kimvonsee most artist work around the idea, I have a big back tattoo that I came in with an idea and he made it better than what I thought. The creativity they have to make the time work is great. But not all artists are the same though. Tbh I dont feel bad for the canvas. Man went it for a big head tattoo, was not flexible with the artist then started feeling sick due to the pain and rush. He shouldn't have it completed, leave it like that.

I think most tattoo artists are random strangers to the average customer. These are established tattooers who already tattoo in shops, it would be a significantly bigger risk if they were apprentices

they fix the tattoos after and get enough time to finish this is all just dumb drama for tv dont be so gullible

on this specific piece, billy went really big and his design was thick blackwork- it was irresponsible basically bc 9/10 times the client wouldn’t be able to handle that much work on the head in 6 hours. you’d probably split that into multiple sessions in the real world so he should’ve just chosen a better design that could be accomplished. HOWEVER i think the canvas was at fault too bc he wanted the entire head & he should’ve anticipated how intense that would feel /:

Yeah, you're wrong. A tattoo artist should know that the design in question was going to cause way too much pain and trauma. It's his job to inform the canvas of what is realistic and what's going to make the canvas throw up and pass out.

Nah far worse ones that are enormous. At least that was easy to cover when it fades, tiny and amusing in it's own way. Did you see the awful, chewwed up, gigantic infinity spiral on someone's entire upper arm? Or the chest and neck victorian lace piece that are so dark and lackingin detail one of the judges said it looked like her throat had been slit? Both often makes the worst lists. I like trippy things and would be less horrified with Roland's piece than many others.
