Ya know I actually thought you decided to make this tier list today because of the new Rogue legendary that let’s you discover a hero card. Ben Brode shouting “IT’S TOO OP! IT’S TOO OP!” in the release trailer showing Hagatha The Witch lives rent free in my head forever.

This is actually a great list and well justified. I hate new Reno for exactly the same reasons you do. I hate seeing that smug grin across the board and I often forget what class I'm even playing against

I agree with the Reno dormant dislike so so SO much. I really hope it gets an actual nerf sometime to that effect, and that if it happens, that aspect doesn’t end up being reverted

tier list invalidated, rokara isn't number 1

The visceral hatred I felt upon seeing Reno during the reveal has yet to leave me. That was before the card was even available for play. Has to be on my top 5 most hated cards ever.

Really hope we get new hero cards in the near future. Or at least see some of them rotating back in. Spice things up

Scabbs was nutty during his time in standard. I have a soft spot since I did my first legend climb with Rogue in Alterac. Idk if he showed up in wild, but Alterac standard rogue seems nothing like wild rogues.

Warrior Galakrond was super cool back in I think it was Darkmoon Faire when you could run the Ul’dum quest and the menagerie archetype, so you had a pretty cohesive deck that was like 5 archetypes in one yet they all had cross-synergy with each other. Hagatha is cool and fun but all I’ll say is she often would give me the spell that gave me 3 piranhas and that was awesome because I felt like I never ran out of gas, even if I ran her in an aggro deck. Amazing Reno’s spells should’ve counted as hero power damage for hero power payoff legends because it would’ve at least had a use

This is my favorite type of cards, and this video was pretty fun to follow. I agree with you on a few of them, but also a few you love that I absolutely hate, and vice versa. Guff is one of the most frustrating things ever in my book, almost definitely THE worst hero card for the game as a whole, because it's ridiculously strong and it breaks the game in ways that will forever be problematic. A permanent source of massive mana cheat with reliable card draw and ramp attached, all from the cheapest hero card of all time? (tied with Thrall, sure, but Thrall would be hot garbage even at 4 mana). And it's in Druid, the class that already has (almost) all of the ramp in the game and the most inevitable ways to cheat out all of the mana in one turn... V_v And there's no real hoops to jump through to pull it off constantly: play ramp, play Guff and eventually get to the Titan and/or Aviana and/or Puppetmaster Aviana now, and then do whatever you want with your 50 mana turn. The fact that it's also in the same class as the inevitable permanent super mill effect and Jade Idol adds a lot of insult to injury for me. TL;DR: It's basically the opposite for me: Druid used to be one of my most played classes before Guff and these days I basically never play it. ^^ To each their own, anyway. Honestly looking at all of them together, it's impressive how few of them are still playable. It's also clear that for the most part, when one sees play again it's because a broken OTK or some other BS was introduced (see Uther: it went from a vague memory to a much cheaper and simpler Meca C'thun deck that's almost impossible to counter (when they draw well). There's no middle ground: stuff is either broken or it might as well not exist. Oh well, I guess this is true of Wild in general anyway. ^^

Guff should be in a category below Yuck, every game that goes long against guff when you play any slow deck that isn't druid just feels so dumb. Like 'yea my opponent had double mana and double cards, they won.... gratz?' Why on earth is it 20 and not like... 14? Why is the hero power so absurd? It makes no sense.

I always thought the priest galakrond was originally designed to mind control minions for a turn or something, like making everything crazy. "Your madness is pleasing" is one the emotes too. I love its theme and intro. Also it's fully invoked art work is the sickest in the game and it's incredible. I wish they'd go back and touch up all the galakronds. Make the priest one say discover a priest minion give it a battlecry attack a random enemy minion.

As a reno demon hunter enjoyer in wild, i still run kurthus AND reno but i prefer so much being kurthus. Everything feels off about illidan just turning into cheerful reno :( but the card is too strong to not play :(

Mr.Buu, if you've never given it a go (which would be understandable as it's terrible) then the Xyrella corrupted healbot OTK deck is a funny you might enjoy, the combo is corrupted healbot/zombie chow + resummon them a couple times via twilight's call/amulet of undying + embrace the shadow and Xyrella The Devout in the same turn to deal big damage.

Been pretty bummed out about birb priest lately. Used to be fun to run it in selective micro metas in ranked to bully some greedy decks but now it just still gets out valued despite me shuffling in 294728732 birbs into their deck :(

love hero-sommelier marshy, and you’re so right about priest galakrond. value priest is one of my favorite archetypes bc of how different each game is and i want it to be competitive so bad

Warlock's Galakrond battlecry should have summoned random demons that costed (5)/(6) or more mana

I remember when they revealed the Shaman Galakrond and I thought it was either a mistake or some sort of very late April fools joke, it blows my mind to this day that they supposedly playtested that deck and didn't think for a second that it was going to be tier 0

Galakrond (Rogue) is so fantastic because Lackeys are fantastic. Edited: WHINYYYY, Marshie is a little whiiineeer, lackeys are epic! I don't hate Guff, I hate Druid, I am not traumatised by Guff, I am traumatised by "MY WINGED CHILDREN FILL THE SKIES! A HUNDRED KINGS RISE AGAIN!" or more modern... "I GOT THE BEST DEALS ANYWHERE! *Bunch of spell sounds* "MUSIC'S FOR EVERYBODY, EH?" Druid has so many other things that come from neutral cards that are significantly worse than Guff in terms of feel... Guff is fine, but he's not goated, just pretty cool.

i hate malfurion so much but i have to put it in my deck because it's only druid hero card at that time and its one of the weakest DK hero at that time. If the hero power change to gain 3 atk and 3 armor not have to choose one, i will love it a little bit! And when guff come out, fell like heaven and i can put that Malfurion on the trash!

Garrosh should have been Yuck, since warrior basically just didn't have a hero card for the longest time. It baffles me that they'd make his hero power such a niche sidegrade when all the other heroes were general purpose powerful control cards. All four heroes that I'd put in S-tier (Guff, Anduin, Jaraxxus, Rexxar) made it there. Arguments for Cariel for it's unique middle finger to aggro, even though I agree the hero power is boring. The Amazing Reno didn't have to be Yuck. Giving Mage a single effective non-recurrable 10-mana boardwipe is so much less obnoxious than literally every other defensive tool Mage has ever gotten. And I honestly think that the hero power made the gamestate better. It wasn't swingy all that often, but it succeeded in making sure both players were drawing live until the game actually ended. Completely agree with the rest of the Yuck tier, and most of the list overall. Overall, I'd give it a Very Cool. It's not GOATED mostly because I can't get excited enough about tier lists to put anything there.

List was Mid, but the streamer is Goated. I'm conflicted :P I personally would put Scabbs Higher, but that's cause i like playing fun value Rogue, I'd move Gararosh DK cause I hate everything about that card. I find Shaman Galakrond a lot more boring than you described it. Carriel is also Very Cool in my book. Besides those. I pretty much agree with everything else on the list. I'll give your tier list, Very Cool overall. Goated streamer still though :D Have a great one MarishinoBuu!

Couldn't agree more with the Reno criticism! I already hated Reno as a character before because of how much Hearthstone has self-cannibalized itself with the characters from the league of explorers (like, Jesus, they're featured in SO MANY CARDS, and they're not even from WoW in the first place) but the fact that he was used for a *neutral* Hero card of all things, I'm just tired of looking at his face

I fully agree that Headless Horseman should have been runeless. It's DK's first ever hero card, among all the things Marshie already said about it. I've spent a ton of time trying to shove it into decks and there's just nothing good with UB besides Rainbow that I can find. Plagues, since Plagues don't typically care about corpses? No good reason to run Blood and if you're going off UUU it should be into UUF and Excavate. It would be great for Triple Blood. Double Blood is basically unplayable. Frost has all the good card draw besides Blood to find the head - it has no Frost runes. It's in this incredibly awkward spot because of those runes.

Xyrella was cracked in Duels because you could use her in Druid, Zul’jin was cracked in Duels because you could use him in Warrior, Dawngrasp was cracked in Duels because you could use them in Rogue… (noticing a pattern?)

Zuljin in any other class would've been kinda boring, but in Hunter, it's so cool, I still play it in (bad) decks today. I spent a whole month trying to get Fizzle Zuljin to work but I kept winning before it mattered, or losing because my deck was a do-nothing pile :( it's still the most fun curve-topper in Tonk Hunter, Big Beasts or anything similar. But it should be 8 mana these days for sure, and maybe give the hero power a bump, like add lifesteal for troll regeneration.

The Amazing Reno was in my highlander mage deck until I had a lose streak of 3 games because of the hero power, so I cut it, and then I lost to late game boards instead... I hate that card with a passion, please just... Don't even talk about it, just send him straight to Yuck, he is disgusts me. 🤮 Glad that both Renos are seen as gross by you, you redeemed yourself from the hate on Galakrond Rogue. Ruined it with the swapping of Uther and Jaina by the end... Uther is goated to me, he's without a doubt the coolest hero card ever printed, wincon in my favourite deck archetype of all time, an absolute meme of a deck, the triple threat Paladin OTK deck of Anyfin, Bazooka and Uther.

The problem with Reno is it a neutral card, which mean ALL can use it, which mean, ANY opponent you face could use it when they see your about to win or activate your win condition, and when that removed, is gg. Despite his overpowered effect, literally wipe out your board, and not just that, in your next turn u have just 1 slot... that is extremely unfair, im pretty sure if u could put Reno in any other TCG it would be still OP, like, imagine in pokemon wiping out your oppponent bench to then knock out the active, you win because your opponent doesnt have any other pokemon in play; or in magic, to an aggro deck or those deck that use the lich card which makes your unable to lose while that card is in play, or yu gi oh, clearing the opponent board and then attack with everything with the actual meta, if you wanna climb up in the ladder, then u have to use Reno. I made myself a mono frost DK deck, and it took me so much to reach legend without using Reno, and facing Reno at the same time, mostly Reno warrior and oof, even when i have a little possibilty of a comeback PUM triple zilliax and full healed the hero GG

I like how the Roeme sisters ended up together at least subconsciously for Marshie lol Also YES, you were somehow able to vocalize everything I hate about Reno. It’s not even from a balance perspective, but I hate how it just homogenizes Hearthstone and makes everyone into Reno. Like so many cool hero skins just become that bearded man. And not to mention that removing dormant things are now just thrown out into the drain because of his mere existence

Mostly agree with this list... but Cariel is one of my favorite cards in the game so I have to insist she belongs in GOAT tier. Bru'kan, on the other hand, is just blah. So, swap those two and we're golden.

i am not agree with some places, because i played duels a lot. And Zirela there was REALLY good. Deathrattle Elize with reborn treasure and Zirela was very enjoable dech to play

I put Headless horseman in my BBU Death Growl control deck where I spread Saurfang's deathrattle to primus and other high value control minions, (Soulstealer made that deck a lot better with losing a blood rune) And the new amalgam that has the immortal prelate effect will be very good in the deck as a better back up for repeated value!

They need to absolutely just buff so many of these for wild (and the old quests, IMO give the paly reborn ones to DK) and I am sure so many people would build decks around yhem

Very small minor feedback, a lot of us are ex hearthstone players that just watch content now instead of actually playing the game so it’s worth explaining what the hero powers actually do etc. That’s all!

reno lone ranger went from a card i thought was my favorite in the game to at the top of a short list of cards i wish were straight up removed from the game. the limiting effect and the killing of rhaestraza's egg, collosals, dormant things, and locations is just so obnoxious. such a boring card and i genuinely wish it was changed on a fundamental level like they did to illucia.

Still thinks that the round bubble is ugly as hell BRING THE SQUARE BACK

My personal favorite's Horseman. I love Floppy Hydra Death Knight, and Horseman's a big part of that love and the late stage gameplan and flexibility. Also his voice lines are just really fun lol

Disagree with some, but overall this tierlist from my very subjective viewpoint is maybe like 9/10. I would personally drop Garrosh to yuck, the one time Deadman loop was not as impactful and these days you have more you can do with Deadman, even though it's not really fair to compare the history of the card to modern days. I just dislike the card anyway, so there is that. Add that to yuck and I completely agree with the yuck-tier. I would swap Rogue Galakrond with Valeera the Hollow. Valeera was fun to play when you could afford it way back when, now it's just a bit too awful no matter how I look at it. Mid. I would put Cariel and Dawngrasp to very cool. I just like them, Dawngrasp enables some fun gameplans to a new level, Cariel was and kind of still is one of the best control Hero cards to exist. Even the Hero Power is cool, especially in terms of Highlander decks when you would realistically rather have a big buff button than a 1/1; it could be better and different, but it's just fine as it is in my humble opinion. Jaina and Jaraxxus are nostalgic and that's it. I would drop Jaraxxus to very cool or pretty cool, it's only carried by nostalgia and the very occasional Zephrys pick these days. Jaina has aged like milk just due to how restrictive its cost is. But thank you for the list Martian, it was a fun one. Would love to see some more similar ones, as you suggested at the end of the video.

I will say my opinion I can't argue with the positioning on your tierlist cause that is subjective and of course we will have different opinions. I do want to stop to talk about some aspects you mentioned: Reno Lone Ranger: I do think this card was really cool, but not going to lie, your points on it were very clean that i may have changed how i see it now. I agree with you that he made the dormant keyword advantages and disadvantages meaningless. Also agree that the limiting boardspace aspect of it is not good. And your idea of giving Reno a skin for each class was what i liked the most of it !! In conclusion: I would take this back to 8 mana, still would be a one sided board clear but without the limiting boardspace and the dormant removal. Thrall deathseer idea: Hearing your idea of hero power gave me my own. What do you think about it being to 1 objective but being able to evolve OR devolve enemy and friendly minions? Like a choose one style. In that way you could still evolve or devolve your minions and have a sort of "hex" or "silence" effect versus annoying enemy minions/taunts/deathrattles.

I always felt that Cariel and Rokara were probably girlfriends sometime after the events of Year of the Gryphon. Like, you can't deny the romantic tension of wielding twin weapons with your rival - being opposite but at times the same, Rokara being brash and reckless, Cariel being steadfast and loyal, but bravery and a desire to protect their friends at the core for both of them.
