I’m on the fence and I own a set of job links. The range is only good if there are no walls. They say 500 ft but that’s bs. I was on a 30ft roof right above the wic and it wouldn’t communicate til I went down in the kitchen. I do agree the pyschrometer probes are nice but it’s too inconsistent for me. But I will say I do find myself using them more than my analog guages.

The range of wireless tools is a problem and will vary given the environment. For the most part I think the airflow related tools that are wireless is imho is the most useful. Other measurements are normally made right on the spot where you are at. Technology is definitely not standing still 😅

I saw an older technician from another company whom I admired starting out. What disappointed me was seeing him going back to his truck with nothing but a jug of R22 and a analog manifold. Sorry to say but he lost a few points in my book.

I still will never understand why in 2024, or even 1994, they still need to run low voltage wire through walls and attics for HVAC controls.
