...their favorite Saturday morning cartoon getting interrupted by a news report. Worse, the cartoon in question won't ever be reran and they'll never get to see the full thing until 11 years later when it comes out on DVD. Well, that's what happened to me with Garfield & Friends on October 8, 1994, when the segment "The Guy of Her Dreams" was interrupted by a CBS Special Report about what I now know is the start of Operation Vigilant Warrior - but what 7 year old would know or care about that? And as mentioned, the episode was not reran (at least in the US) because it along with every other episode after the 73rd was not syndicated, so I had to wait for the DVDs of the final season to come out. Needless to say, I was pissed about this for YEARS. 😾 And even though I know it's immature because this kinda stuff is important, I still kinda am. I mean, what did we end up seeing but some footage of Bill Clinton standing around talking to some people? But on the other hand, was it truly worth getting mad about missing more of Penelope singing and fantasizing (GarfieldxArlene 4ever, bitch)? Well, the real question I have is: Did this interrupt Garfield & Friends all over the country, or just in Pacific Time? I have no idea how broadcasting this stuff works so if you remember watching CBS on the morning of October 8th, 1994 at 11am PST, let me know.
