It's amazing how much easier it is to see that Nicholas Courtney's fist doesn't connect with Anthony Ainley at all without the sound effect of the punch.
I believe the artist is A. Rendell since they have been composer for VIS Video since 1989 or so. Besides them getting mentioned in the VHS covers, there's basically no information about A. Rendell
It was even worse when a president or ex-president died. All our favorite shows were preempted for at least a week. I was six when JFK was shot and I'm still pissed.
That's what I remember happening during the OJ Simpson trial. All the networks were showing the trial instead of kids' shows except PBS so I ended up watching that for colorful entertainment - even friggin' Barney. In hindsight I wonder why I didn't just watch my VHS tapes or something since at least I had that option. :/
Yeah, I know, I acknowledged that was an option I had that you didn't. Before PBS there was NET but they didn't really have any kids' shows before Mister Rogers IIRC. It was obviously a lot tougher for your generation than mine.
@@ReturnofTheBunny Our conversation reminded me of something else about those assassination weeks. I had a record album called 'The First Family'. It consisted of humorous sketches about the Kennedy's and their life in the White House. Suddenly, I wasn't allowed to play it anymore and I wasn't told why. I guess my parents thought I was too young for such serious bad news. Note: The full album is posted here on RU-vid.
@@ReturnofTheBunny And speaking of my generation, when I got old enough, I had to go to my town's seediest grocery store to buy nudie magazines. There was no free internet porn back then. Can you imagine?? 😀
Better than waking up to a beautiful Tuesday morning. Because you're an introvert, had the best walk to school. Only to find out it's 9-11. "Oh... that's why there was no air traffic and hardly anyone on the roads".
I distinctly remember watching the 1991 Gulf War unfold on TV when I was about five years old. I didn't really understand it of course, but I did find it fascinating.
I first saw him online 😂 as I was in the fandom before watching the show 😢 I wasn’t in me at the time. But I first really knew him from new beginnings trilogy 😅😊
How about my husband Robin soans aka Luvic I know in face the Raven he (Chronolock Guy aka civul of Habria) only appears to die but at least he gets a wife with all of seron and Katuras best traits 😅😮 (alien lady aka Toci of Habria in my mind) and then I guess there’s also Shadrak winter 😂 But he needs to become part of the pantheon of discord 😢😮
Hey man, you're the only person I've found that knows about this Valentine Video. I was just given about 30 boxes of vhs tapes from a family who just had a death in the family and I found a valentine video sleeve, but no tape. Could you tell me the time they were operating and if it was on a large or small scale? It seems super sleazy but it was such a nice find among all the sports tapes!
Anthony Ainley is one of my favourite actors to play the Master. I think he loved the role. He was so watchable. Whenever he appeared in the cliffhanger of a Doctor Who episode you just knew that the story just got better. Sleep well Anthony. Thanks for your version of the Master.
So you're aware, to mark the anniversary tomorrow, I'm going to upload an audio clip of Anthony (and Peter Davison) from the 1982 version of Cinderella. Just a short one of a few minutes, but I hope you like it.
I do have the full VHS recording digitized, however I don't want to risk my IA account by uploading full episodes of Doctor Who as I don't think the BBC would like that. My IA page does have extended interstitial material and the Sylvester McCoy interview. Please be understanding.
@@JTD95 Do you know I'm rewatching the series and that is the last episode I watched and I still didn't realise. I guess I have a case of the dumb-dumbs
the Fam Guy bit at the end really makes this, LOL! Also...gotta respect the Brigadier (Nicolas Courtney) for delivering that blow! he always does the best he can. Anthony Ainley had big shoes to fill...being a bit younger than a lot of old school Whovians, I actually admired his portrayal of The Master...he wasn't really a copy of the great Delgado, if you get down to the details...and the devil is in the details.
