As a ginormous Kingdom Hearts fan, I’d say my ranking is like this… 13. 358/2 Days 12. Re:Coded 11. Chain Of Memories 10. Re:Chain Of Memories 9. Dark Road 8. Union X 7. Melody Of Memory 6. Birth By Sleep 5. A Fragmentary Passage 4. Dream Drop Distance 3. Kingdom Hearts 2. Kingdom Hearts 3/KH3: Re:Mind 1. Kingdom Hearts 2 This entire franchise is honestly my favourite piece of entertainment ever and I cannot wait for Missing Link and especially Kingdom Hearts 4.
A bit overrated in my opinion the other 2 worlds felt more original and stuck with me kingdom hearts 2 though you feel way more powerful against the normal heartless I liked the pride land's though it was so fun and reaction commands but xemnas is supposed to be more powerful than ansem and I barely struggled with him ansem in kh1 was more fun dodge rolling whenever he's like my strength returns or something the world's and keyblades were better I kh1 and 3 and the prolouge in kh2 felt boring it just feels weird whenever you play as another character for a limited time still enjoyed it but I feel like it's a bit to praised by people
The only thing more insulting than putting Days so low is the way you PRONOUNCED THE TITLE ITS THREE-FIVE-EIGHT DAYS OVER TWO YES THIS IS AN UNNECESSARY NITPICK NO I DONT CARE
Chain of memories is way too high for my taste. The reason the card system doesn’t work is because it’s way too random and it can make enemies especially boss fights obnoxiously frustrating to deal with. The amount of times I got blocked by 0 cards in a boss fight was super annoying. I’m nit fond of rythm gamez but I’d still play melody of memories over Chain of memories any day. The story is really good but the gameplay is very sloppy.
You may be disappointed to hear that they will likely continue moving away from Final Fantasy with KH4 expected to not have any characters or Easter eggs from that franchise :(
Eh they said they’re trying to balance it out the best they can due to the metric ton of original characters they have to account for now. I dont think we’ll get KH 1-2 levels of importance but we might see like Noctis in quadratum and cameos like that.
If you do a ranking video of all persona games and Yakuza games and final Fantasy games then and only then i will subscribe to you ok alright keep it up and may your heart be your guiding key
Gameplay should always be number 1 in the ranking of a game, hence why KHIII deserves its spot as number 2. No one can seriously say that 358/2 Days, Birth By Sleep, or even KHI have better actual GAMEPLAY.
I love this video man all of your opinions made sense. For DDD, the game is more of a combination of Square Enix's TWEWY and Disney, so if you play TWEWY the dream eater/nightmare designs make a lot more sense.
I played the OG kingdom hearts, 2 and re:com when I was little and recently played bbs and truthfully I thought it was mid tbh and by the time I finished Ven and Terra stories I was exhausted and couldn't bring myself to finish Aqua's story. I also tried DDD recently and was bored two hours into the game. I'm beginning to wonder if the KH games are as good as I remember or not because for the longest time I thought KH2 was one of my favourite games of all time Should I try KH3?
You should try KH1 at least. It's the best for the story. If you want to understand and enjoy kh3 you need to play barely any other kh so don't botter if you don't like half KH game you played.
@dantesqueman Dude, read my comment. I said I played 1,2 re com, and two stories from bbs. The only one I didn't like was DDD. I already played KH3, and I like it the most out of all of them.
Great video and I actually agree with a lot of your list! As a longtime KH fan, I love seeing new creators talk about the game from a fresh perspective. A small tip I would love to give, if you don’t mind: typically when talking about combat, reviewers will use the word “fluid” when describing fast-paced and smooth gameplay. I noticed you using the word “fluent” which is more so used for language or a person’s capability in a given activity. I hope I don’t come across as nitpicky or anything! Just figured I’d point this out in a kind way beige your channel blows up and people see this video and do this in a mean and aggressive way. You’ve earned my sub, can’t wait to hear more from you man!

Melody of Memory Like you said, I only ranked 358/2 days so low because my god, that gameplay is a slog. But considering story alone, it easily outranks every other game until the second spot in my list. And I only ranked Re: Chain of Memories lower than Birth by sleep also because I never got a grip of that card system. The gameplay flows way to fast for me to be akwardly cycling trough my card deck and trying to remember wich combinations of sleights are the best to use. And wen I do remember, the enemy then pulls a card break on me and I aways get so f*cking annoyed by it lol But the story itself is awesome, but let's be real, it only works because the writers need to make Sora the dumbest character ever EVERY time. And the same goes for birth by sleep. Most of that game's conflict wouldn't have happened if Terra and Ventus had a bit more IQ points (the "ok I believe you" is one of the most memed lines for a reason). I dindn't like KH3 at all and considered ranking it lower than 358/2 days. But I can't ignore that even if it was a massive downgrade from KH2 and even birth by sleep and DDD, I can't in my right mind say the combat is worse than Days. But is broken AF.
Welp, I had to stop watching when he put kh 358/2 days near the bottom. The gameplay was clunky but pretty straightforward and tolerable. Plus its literally the only kingdom hearts game where it was multiplayer and play as any organization XIII member including donald and goofy.
