Fun fact: the attract-o-gel material (obtained from the muppets level pack DLC) can actually be obtained without the need to purchase the DLC. You just need to find a level that had a prize bubble that isnt DLC locked.
It’s actually a huge shame some of these are inaccessible now in the base game since Disney for some reason decided to pull out all their properties. I remember as a kid, I really wanted some of these DLC packs but didn’t have the money. But now that I actually got a job and can absolutely afford them, Disney decided to pull the plug. :[ Emulators are nice though, I just wish there were ways to access this stuff again.
the MGS pack is still probably my favorite. it had a cool, sorta gritty atmosphere that's unique compared to all the other dlc's. also the paintinator revolutionized bossfights in lbp1 community levels.
I wish we could've seen a remaster of some of the older DLC packs. I feel like the Metal Gear Solid pack could've been really cool if it had been remade on the LBP3 engine
Small correction You don't need two people to own a dlc to play it in multiplayer, only the host needs to own it You can play any dlc even delisted disney ones if one of your friends owns it you just can't use any prizes you collect You'll permenantly have something you can't use in your inventory forever To answer your question if you collect all the nasty patties in the SpongeBob dlc As far as i can remember you get a pretty dissapointing ending with SpongeBob just thanking you in the hub world and then.... nothing
Theoretically, creator pack 1 has a followup in the POTC dlc - there is 1 or 2 bonus levels made in the same style, with water-related mechanics to unlock.
I'm going to take this opportunity to express my love for the Tiki Paradise soundtrack, the interactive one I mean, the other one you get is fine, but that volcano theme goes HARD
Both are really great pieces of music to be fair, which is one of several reasons it gets ranked so highly on the list. Both sound tracks match the level perfectly
13:06 LBP3 SPONGEBOB PACK OWNER HERE. I collected all of the nasty patties and your reward after going back to the hub world is... A few lines from spongebob congratulating you and some items. Nothing else. It really felt like there was more to it but oh well, at least I got cool items. Since you didnt mention it, there's also a fun racing minigame in the hub world if you put a sticker on a place close to the chum bucket. They did not have to go this hard with the little details but they did and I love it.
I appreciate the additional info on this level pack! I'd say out of all the packs on this list, the Spongebob pack is easily the most limited in terms of information, so it's great to have someone fill in the blanks for me. Disappointing to hear that the final bonus is rather anticlimactic though!
The SpongeBob pack is broken for me. I got all the nasty patties but the game refuses to give me the extra prize bubbles at the end. It pisses me off so much! 😫
The Pirates pack seems to be very popular among the community, based on the comments I've been seeing. I think if the pack had something else going besides water physics, I might be a little more onboard with it too
Maybe for a series you can rank all LBP Music (from all main games) and have 1-3 in one video, dlc from 1-3 in another video, and maybe all sequencer instruments in another video (including dlc)
Thank you for your suggestion! I’ve got quite a few LBP ideas in mind now, but I shall definitely keep your one in mind too for a future LBP ranking when I make one next
@@Crocko I second this, music would be awesome :) My list of favorites on just the LBP3 Base Game without DLC's is still huge, We Are Enough, Manglewood, Out Of The Frying Pan, etc.
I completely agree. The way that every stage is designed to look like Andy's imagination is a really clever idea, and one that really sets the pack apart from the others
Id love to see this video again, except instead of ranking them on the levels themself, you rank then based on the materials/items/stickers/collectables you unlock from them
My favorite DLC level kit definitely has to be the Move Pack or Cross-Controller Pack. However, I didn’t get to experience the Cross-Controller Pack since I didn’t have a Vita so I only got it when it was turned into the Sci-Fi Pack in LBP3.
I got to play it when it came out. It was crazy. The logic gadgets that let you communicate wirelessly between systems and the gateways that sent Sackboy back and forth was nuts. Too bad nobody really got to put any of it to good use in the community before it was delisted.
There are still DLC packs from LBP1 and LBP2 available, but some of the licensed packs like Spongebob, Pirates, Incredibles etc have been taken off the store. The only way to access these obsolete packs is through modding your ps3.
I really feel like they could’ve done more with the Marvel Kit, besides just making it all parkour based. And as for the Pirates pack, that was just my biased disliking towards water physics in games. Thanks for watching : )
The Marvel DLC Pack is the kind of bad where you think it's not bad and that you're just tired, but it actually is bad. Didn't really realize how bad it was until watching this video.
@@thelibyanplzcomeback I think the main thing holding back the Marvel DLC pack is its lack of unique gimmicks and instead far too much focus on awkward parkour jumps
Damnnn i miss days when i used to play LBP. Last time i played it was like 2 years ago. I joined community LBP in 2013. Now it’s like nostalgia for me to watch every video. And yeah DC was also my number one and always will be
I miss the LBP days too. LittleBigPlanet was a game like no other, as every day you could play something different on it, making the game stay fresh and exciting. If the LBP3 servers weren't so bad, I'm sure the franchise could still be thriving to this day
A small fact about the dc comics pack the sackbots that you cant kill with elements EVER is cyborg and joker the rest can be killed in different levels in the pack
Comphermc and Lockstitch worked on the DC Comics pack. Maybe that is why it was so good 😅 The Move Pack will always be my top pick. The new orchestral music sequencer instruments revolutionized community music. Also, note that the Move Pack added the *triplet* feature to the music sequencer. Combining triplets and duplets allowed for some advanced tricks, such as implementing ninelet cymbal rolls and melodic rhythms faster than the 16th note grid. The Move Pack also contained many decorations and stickers that could be used for both realistic and cartoony levels. The sticker panel material was also introduced in the Move Pack. This might be the single best material in the game for many reasons. The sticker panel material is less expensive than the hologram material in create mode. It can display any sticker and modify brightness, opacity, and RGB color, allowing for maximum sticker customization. Perhaps an unknown feature with sticker panel is to attach a destroyer set to the "fall apart" animation. Capturing the object as it is being destroyed will allow you to place invisible barriers that Sackboy can pass through and that other solid objects can not. This was an interesting way to implement the physics tweaker back in LBP2. The Marvel Pack, while it didn't add any new gameplay features, had some impressive level design (especially Freeway Frenzy). For an 8 minute long level that incorporates 2 parallax scrolling sections with many unique vehicles to traverse, this was incredibly impressive to pull off in LBP1, especially considering the thermometer usage. I agree with most of your rankings from a pure gameplay standpoint. LBP had some great DLC, and I always looked forward to seeing a new level pack.
I remember playing Playstation Move Heroes back in the day, and suffice to say, I didn't have much luck either. I really don't get how people can operate those move controllers so comfortably.
@@Crocko oh, that’s actually quite the opposite, I moved it so well and so fast that’/ actually how I injured my hand, sprained it for playing *too* well too much
Hello, thank you for your comment. Okay sure, that would be great. If you’re still up for making the video, I’d be more than happy to shout you out and incorporate your footage into my next LBP ranking video
The History Kit level is not repayable and is pointless when you finish collecting all prizes. It was my first LBP DLC because I desperately wanted it. Its assets were peak tho.
The music is mostly the highlight for me. Everything else is pretty average all things considered. I would've loved to have seen an LBP3 remaster of the History Kit level
Not entirely. Emulated LBP servers like 'LittleBigPlanet Infinite' exist. Just because the official servers are down, doesn't mean the game is dead completely
Haha you're the 2nd person with a featured comment that's also commented on this video too. I still agree though, I really dislike the Seaside Surprise kit's music, and it would've been a perfect way to incorporate Tea By the Sea
It’s funny when you trash on lbp1 for not being advanced when it crashes less and loads faster than the 3rd, no just because the 3rd has more stuff doesn’t mean it’s better
I'm not 'trashing' on any of the games. I'm simply pointing out that LBP3's advanced gameplay allows for more innovative level design choices. Metal Gear Solid Pack is still a great pack, but with all of them pitted together, it gets outclassed a lot. Try to keep an open mind next time.
I decided to base the list off of LBP1, LBP2 and LBP3 packs only, as the more mainstream LittleBigPlanet titles. I wasn't sure if Vita linked to those games though
I like this ranking, my first ever DLC I got was the Move Pack and I actually really enjoyed it, my other 2 favorite DLC packs is the Muppets and Toy Story which I played though the levels during online play back when it was still around, Little Big Planet 2 has the best DLC packs in my opinion
Yes I agree, the LBP2 DLC packs are definitely the best. Besides the Spongebob pack, LBP3 is very lacklustre in terms of DLC story kits, instead just reducing most of their packs down to single levels.
I’m sure you don’t care, but fun fact the seaside surprise pack is actually based off of a unused theme called the English Seaside theme. For LBP1.. It’s not really based on it but the background is using a few of the models from the English Seaside background. My channel has some videos about it but yeah.
I remember hearing about this while doing my research for this DLC pack. It's a shame they didn't do the theme much justice with it's music choice though, but it's cool to see England represented in LittleBigPlanet anyway
