I think one of the real reasons for consumer tech losing little extras like this is that in the eyes of corporations they're simply not needed anymore. Video intros, skeuomorphic design, and other things like this were prevalent because computers were still new to the masses so companies wanted to ease people into it but now that just about everyone in the developed world are familiar with computers, it's cheaper to cut the extras and design everything flat
I totally thought the "here's where the setup menu…" text was actually part of the video - an Apple joke in the vein of "there's no step 3" until about halfway through. It's early and I need more coffee!
One thing. Leopard and Snow Leopard were slightly different. The video was run slightly slower on Leopard so you got the star warp during the warp sound. You would get the video portion at 8:27 with the sound from 8:30
When Steve retuned, the Mac Os have got an intros. When Steve died, they've put away then. This man knew what the real style is. P.S Anyway, even 14 years old Snow Leopard looks better than Windows 11. Also, the new Mac OS verions are cool, but back than in 2000s and earlier, the Apple Computer was much unique company, I guess.
There was an earlier variant of the Mac OS X 10.0-10.2 intro which still had the "We'll get you up and running in no time" text. It was probably ditched in at least 10.1 and later since that text was baked into the video as English, it wouldn't have made sense to include it since the rest of the intro video is multilingual.
I have mac os x snow leopard hackintosh in asus x553sa intel celeron n3050 4gb ddr3 ram and idk how it worked so well had some issues and i fixed it days later it boot and DOO DOO DOO DOO DOO
While I love all of these, I wish that the 10.0 through 10.2 intro was remade for modern versions of MacOS. It just feels like it would fit super well with the modern versions.
One interesting thing i found out, is at least with the Mac OS 10.4 and 10.5 intros, the intro video and the music are actually separate files (And after having extracted the 10.4 and 10.5 intro videos, so that i have a private copy of them (i have a Mac Mini set up with both 10.4 and 10.5 installed on it), im tempted to hunt down as many of them as i can (preferably extracting them from discs or image files))

I also was just digging around on RU-vid and found the guy who created/designed at least one of these videos, he goes by the name of Dave Brinda. Further research shows he made numerous other Apple motion graphics, but most notably the 10.0-10.2 welcome videos, and possibly more. I wonder who created the other ones -- like the Mac OS 8 one. I wanna know what music that is lol
they used some from Spectrasonics - Distorted Reality which is a CD of samples from 1995 for their demo intro for Mac OS 8, not music just only samples
I personally have a iBook G4 14 inch model with Tiger on it. And I loved the intro for it! What I am trying to do is upgrade it to Leopard to get a better UI as well as better app compatibility. The Leopard was the last first boot animation that apple released with their consumer systems. But still, I have a soft spot for the classic computer systems. The modern systems can try and emulate the older computers, but nothing will beat the actual thing. Sure they are sluggish compared to today's standards, but the older systems have their unique charm to them. Edit: Leopard's intro has always been my personal favorite too.
I received an iMac G6 recently on Yosemite, and I felt it was only right to put it back to Leopard. I struggled for a while and almost made this computer unusable, and when I finally got it to boot onto Leopard, I was so relieved and stunned to see the intro. This video brought back good memories (from last week lol).
@@Hooman-qj6ht Sorry for the confusion, it is the G6, and if I remember correctly it was released in 2007 after the G5, released with Tiger. My Tiger Setup Disk works on only PowerPC models, and mine is Intel so I put it to the next closest thing I have, Snow Leopard. This model is the first to be made out of aluminum, with a black border around the screen. I hope this helped :D
My goodness, they sure put a lot of effort into these videos that would only ever (realistically) be seen once. Still gives a great first impression though, especially compared to what Windows offered -- even at the time
Ok, this is crazy, I had a song stuck in my head all day, and then this video shows up, and it’s in it. “Ocean Air”. Besides the odd “telepathic” thing, I genuinely miss this era.

I think its just for OS X’s that have the intro. I’m assuning its split since the audio keeps going on into the setup and has just a few seconds when the desktop is first presented.
I hope someone finds that Panther build with the scrapped intro. It has been confirmed to exist by those who saw the DP according to some forums. Maybe someday.
The DP build is an easy google search away. The video could have been in an Internal build before or after the DP but it's not in the Preview itself. It could even be fake. Sorry!

@@freddiemt_ I was really holding out that it was gonna be there but after extracting the OS packages and seeing the Aqua intro i felt a little confused. Then, I started seeing the other comments across these videos about other people finding what i found.
