Basically Superweapons on a nutshell: It has the power to destroy planets and galaxies, *BUT* It was destroyed before it was even used.

Do you think superweapons are getting overused in Star Wars? I feel like all planet destroyers make the Death Stars seem less significant.

I would love to see a super weapon like the Death Star survive for 2 or more episodes instead of being destroyed after it was built

i feel like darth nihilus could be classified as a super weapon. he consumed entire planets.

I can see why they made the extended universe non-canon. That's a few too many planet-destroying superweapons. Why does every book and comic need its own death star anyway?

Sun Crusher was ridiculously overpowered, but I liked its method of attack - causing a star to go supernova in order to destroy the entire system, it's such an efficient move.

I don't mean to nitpick (but I'm gonna, just because this is the time and place), but Starkiller base's super laser was said to be a faster-than-lightspeed weapon. That's part of the reason they could fire the weapon from one system and destroy another, without having to sit around for years.

I'm still thinking about how it would've been if Imperial Stormtroopers would have fired the big laser beam from Starkiller Base.. just imagine, the four lasers would miss all the planets and "fly" through the galaxy so long until they hit some random planets xD

The Orbital Nightcloak is a really interesting idea. Whereas all the other superweapons focus on instant apocalyptic destruction, the Nightcloak renders a slow and painful death for all inhabitants.

I just want some crazy guy in Star Wars to take every one of these and somehow shove them into one mega weapon. It sounds dumb but I just wanna see that.

Death Star II also had advanced targeting systems that allowed it to target the Rebel Alliance's Mon Cal cruisers and other command-class ships, which was an improvement of its predecessor. The Starkiller beam is already made up of light, so saying that it goes at light speed is a little redundant. There is still no explanation how a beam of light can travel from one end of the galaxy to another within a few minutes unless they could open a portal at the Starkiller Base and another at a targeted system. Something like the Infinity Gun. It seems that the rest of the super weapons depend upon or use some form of science when they either prepare or use the weapon, and I have no problems with that as they can be relatively explained and understood.

Legends is weird. If the Empire had the tech to create multiple planet-destroyers ... Why didn't they use them? Make a bunch of Conquerers and you're set. The insane amount of superweapons makes the Empire seem ineffective and inefficient.

Didn`t the Star Killer Base-Laser `'fly' with Overlightspeed?!? I mean, imagine you fire on a starsystem and say "So, in 2 or 3 years will the laser reach the planets" ;-)

You keep saying things travel at or near the speed of light but that honestly isn't that fast on a cosmic scale. Even our closest neighboring star is over 3 years away and it is basically face hugging us in relation to the rest of the galaxy. The Milky Way is estimated to be about 100k light years across. I guess those weapons would be a threat eventually but it would almost be like attacking a country by letting snails carry your bombs there. I understand that the weapons were powerful but unless they were used in close proximity then it wouldn't exactly be a practical way to attack someone. Especially when people have faster than light travel. They would just go somewhere else and be like "well, dodged that bullet. good thing it's so slow."

Glad you remembered the sun crusher. It was an epic moment in the book dark apprentice when kyp I think, flew it right through a star destroyer to destroy it. Yeah, it was hidden in the maw with the Death Star prototype where the empire though the war was still on

You missed out Naga Sadow's ship that could pull the core out of a sun. This weapon extiguished all life on numerous planets including the old Jedi stronghold Ossus.

Darksaber is the name of the plan said by jyn erso just before she finds stardust. People have been referencing the black lightsaber from cannon but it is called the Black Saber. I know its legends material but it seems like it might connect.

New canon superweapon revealed: The Xyston-class Star Destroyer. It's just a lazy rebuild of an Imperial-class Star Destroyer with a superlaser on it. The superlaser was its major weakpoint, and took all of the energy on the ship to fire. However, it was capable of destroying planets. Everyone hates it due to its lazy design.

I thought the Tarkin was just a big ion canon. I'd argue that Eclipse-class super star destroyers from Legends count. Even discounting their superlasers, their conventional weapons could easily make everything on a planet dead or wishing it were.

I know it wasn’t a planet destroyer, but the Thought Bomb did wipe out nearly all of the Sith. I don’t know if it really deserves a spot as a superweapon, but it was definitely major.

Their is also other Starwars Legends Super weapons that you forgot to mention. Like the Eye of Palptine,( The Astroid) , Theirs also the Eclipse I Super Star destoyer, The Ecplise II Super Star Destoyer , The Gravestone/Eternal Fleet Super Weapon

Wrong, the Eclipse was a Star Destroyer mixed with the Death Star. If other super Star Destroyers can make it here, the Eclipse definitely should be able to.

You forgot one very important Superweapon that nobody talks about: SpaceBall I This was a giant space cruiser that stretched over 6.8 miles in length, and was commanded by Dark Helmet, President Skroob and Colonel Sanderz. It was used by the Spaceballs to collect fresh air from other planets, and bring it to Planet Spaceball. In order to gather this air, the ship could metamorph into a mega maid with a vaccuum that could be used to suck up all off a planet's air, causing it's inhabitants to suffocate to death. It could also reach speeds that were faster than lightspeed called ludicrous speed, but was also equipped with a self destruct button that was never intended to be used unless you absolutely meant it. It was Destroyed by Lone Star after throwing Dark Helmet into the self destruct button during a duel. An attempt was made to cancel the self destruct, but the cancellation button was out of order. Afterwards several remains crashed into the Apes Planet who in turn cursed at how their planet would soon be gone.

“Hey, I’ve seen this one before!” Palpatine: “What do you mean you’ve seen it? It’s brand new!”

Of those 13 of those were made by the Galactic Empire, 2 were created by the Rakata, two more were on planets in the Malachor system, and of those only 4 of them have the potential to destroy Stars, they are Starkiller Base, which could technically suck all the energy of a star till it supernovas, after a long period of time, The Suncrusher, which could destroy Stars completely, Centerpoint Station, which could move and implode stars with it's advanced Tractor beam technology, and the Star Forge which could do the same damage as Starkiller base does to a host star. Yup think I got them all info on it, Although quick mention of the Silencer and other one off star destroyers with weak superlasers on them, although I think that the Eclipse's and the Sovereign's superlaser should count as well, cuz they could destroy a moon at the very least. Star killer base is actually built on the planet Ilum where Jedi younglings do their rite of passage to get their kyber crystals for their lightsabers. It has a kyber core and that’s why it’s so powerful
