i know what you mean but on the other hand, when musicians do the back to the roots thing it rarely ends up having the old sound cause i feel like what they usually mean is they look back on their journey and restart their creative process. it does come across gimmicky though especially if the new stuff sounds exactly the same as the previous record
@Jason Weaver Have to give em credit for Hardwired though, that's actual back-to-the-roots stuff, at least as close as a bunch of fifty year olds can get to angsty 20-something energy.
"It's our most heaviest record but also our most melodic" "We're taking our songwriting to the next level" "We're giving it 110% on this record" (badmouths the last record while saying this new album is the shit when last album they said it was greatest thing they made) "We think fans will really enjoy this one, we can't wait" Metacritic 49. it's just too easy.
Dave Mustaine: "It's gonna be the ultimate album of my career. Guitarist #457 is the greatest I have ever worked with and he's elevated Megadeth's songwriting to a whole new level" Reality: Super Collider
"This album is something we never really wanted to make." "This album is the least hard-hitting and off-the-wall we've done so far." "This album, while decent, will not kick your arse as much as the previous albums we've done." _- No band, ever_
@@wandamiancrucifixplate568 Not sure because the black album was the last I owned from them. I moved on. I remember some guy I worked with that was big into country who knew I listened to metal playing a song in his car for me. I didn't like it when he expected I would. He asked if I'd heard it and I said no. He was like you know who this is? I had no clue. Anyway, it was Metallica (Load or Reload I don't remember) and I didn't even recognize James' voice for at least 20 seconds. Lol....I don't hate them for it though. Just hate the music.
@The SNES Man "Penis Range" was the name of my third high school band. We later changed it into "Penis Rage", that made all the difference. Good times...
“This is our most mature record” usually means it’s a generic, radio rock, cookie cutter formula album from a once great band... Also “This is our best record yet” or “our greatest record to date” generally means it’s their worst.
Thomas Thas fuckin really? Its not like it has the word BEBOP in the actual title or anything But actually tho check out the genre bebop it's my favourite besides maybe modal jazz.
"It's the heaviest album we've ever done, but it also has some of the most melodic stuff we've done at the same time. We really tried to make the fans happy with this one."
Signs the album is gonna suck "This is gonna be the album fans are gonna love, it's our best yet. " "We're pushing our sonic boundaries" or "it's the next step in our evolution as a band." "This is an album where we've grown as not only a band, but as people."
Don't forget "We're going back to our roots on this one...you'll hear a lot of inspiration drawn from the first two albums" Or "We've signed to road runner records"
I think Kerry King said back in the day Slayer were never gonna top Reign In Blood for sheer intensity, so they didn't want to try and instead moved in a moodier, creepier direction for South of Heaven
guys that's great you got the legend himself Maydup Nam on this record but i hope you didn't change your sound too much, the old stuff was so raw and intense, dont forget about all your old fans that got you here!!!!!
I said this last time but this is your best video yet. I was listening to Sirius Xm and a metal band came on and said that they had new innovative metal song unlike any other. Turns out it was just your average death metal song
The one time I can recall a band actually backing up their pre-record promotion claims is when Vinnie Paul was being interviewed. "We got a new album coming out. It's called Vulgar Display of Power and it's a heavy mother..."
I just found your channel a couple of week's ago and I want to say Thank You. These are brilliant and underrated (even at 1.7+Million views). No filler, pure gold. This video made me laugh so hard, especially when you broke out the bent spoon and lighter. Top Tier writing here.
Maydup Nem! Finally he is getting some recognition, I've listened to a lot of his own work he has put out and it's amazing. Very underrated, great groove, and in my opinion, one of the best Jazz musicians of our generation.
God, even Dragonforce did this after their frontman left the band. I swear, the word “feat.” in the title of a metal song is almost undeniably a bad sign.
Avantasia is not a band, but rather a project to begin with And in my version of albums it did not say things like "feat." in most songs, the participants are numerous, but are not(at least, from my perception) one-time-invited guest stars just for a couple of notes. Although I do not know their later work, since my music taste has moved on long time ago.
Yea the "create a whole new sound then proceeds to play unoriginal riffs and sounds" part is pretty accurate. Edit: Also, wow. So hiphop arent the only ones who are dicks to their producers lol.
You got hold of Maydup Nem? God, I remember when he was on stage with John Zorn and the rest of Naked City, he seems like such a perfect fit to push the boundaries of metal!
