"Here's thirty seconds self indulgent hair angles." Exactly why I can't watch most these natural "gurus". I cringe every single time I see them fake laugh while running their hands through their hair or dramatically flip their hair before intensely staring into the camera. It is just soooooo uncomfortable to watch. I'm just like- girl, stop trying to be cute and tell me about this twist out.
What happened to the countless wig reviews, the redundant hairstyles(how I so my twist out #12) the no heat scaredy cat naturals(i.e. here's how I straighten my natural hair...first I set my flat iron to 12 degrees and then I'm totally shocked that my hair looks like dry tumbleweed)...part 2? Lol
And then they try to play if off with the same old "I wasn't trying to get my hair bone straight" spiel. I'm thinking "oh really? Then why did you just pass that flat iron through you hair 11 times" I can't. I just can't.
YES, especially on the completely misleading products. It's like a natural hair rite of passage to go through at least a dozen of those before something much cheaper and easier finally reveals itself to you.
KettiexD why didn't it work for your hair. I just recently bought some products from that line because it was recommended to me, but I'm already feeling like I made a mistake and I've only washed my hair and conditioned it. Plus the conditioner smelled like it had perfume in it, like something from Victoria's Secret, so I'm already feeling bad about it.
Keira Mpialumata I'm not saying it didn't work for my hair lol it worked just fine. It was really expensive though and I've found that coconut oil (or extra virgin olive oil) and shea butter (or cocoa butter) work just fine and they're cheaper, so I'm sticking with them now. Shea Moisture is fine and probably higher in quality. I'm just not tryna be broke all the time lol

I never liked a video fast enough! Hahahaha, this is so true! I'm glad someone made a video like this! I enjoy watching natural hair videos but some of them are so cliche and annoying sometimes. I especially hate it when the girls do poses, blow kisses, and try to act cute for the camera. Like, I don't watch those videos to see them be cute, I watch them to see how they do their hair and maybe even learn something. I'm always like "Just get to the point!"
It's actually really funny to see what type of suggested videos that RU-vid puts right next to yours... They're all about the hair types (numbers i.e. 4C). It's hilarious how spot-on u were in your video.
This. Video. IS EVERYTHING! Though hair tutorials come in handy sometimes, like before a formal event (don't stop doing what you do, hair RU-vidrs--it's all in fun). I love how you kept your commentary light & positive. Mine would have gone to my pet peeves like being obsessed with "curl definition," which basically means you hate your hair texture and "shrinkage" which means you have a long hair complex. But yeah, this was hilarious!

I just came across this and yep, I've done a few of those things....oy! I made several comments about hair tutorial videos that I've watched and CAN'T STAND it when females have to pose, wink, pretend to be naive, and other unnecessary crap before the actual video itself. Thanks for this video.

SOOOOOO true! The long pauses that should have been cut and talking to an off-camera person! Plus the 20 minute videos which generally have that. One girl kept talking to and playing with her cat!
I was just telling my boyfriend about all these examples. My question: who started doing this and why'd everyone follow?? This was SO spot on. You should do one about make up vlogging… every video has this awkwardly long pause where they have the "look down, then away, then back at the camera, then look away again" shot. >_

This is hilarious :). The only part I've never seen in a natural hair video is the pausing and talking to someone behind the camera, but I have noticed a lot of people trying to make jokes in their tutorial lol. But spot on
I've only seen two satirical videos on this topic, and yours really cracked me up! LOL! I stopped the other before the halfway mark as I wasn't enjoying it at all. :/ I've seen many videos/tutorials for natural and relaxed hair, and so many of the women act this way, with the added sounds of lip smacking and beeping smoke detectors. LOL! Off to view more of your videos. :)
