Every NFL Team’s Biggest Mistake (Last 5 Years) Which move do you think is your team’s biggest mistake in the last five years. Some answers are easy like the New York Jets hiring Adam Gase, or the Denver Broncos drafting Paxton Lynch. But what about the Patriots or Chiefs?

100% wrong about the Colts' mistake. They DID fail Andrew Luck. Yes by the time he retired he had a decent O-line, but by then his body was already destroyed. Not giving him a decent O-line from the beginning cost them at least 5 more years of having frachise QB-level play from Luck.

Panthers biggest mistake: not investing in offensive line after losing Super Bowl 50
@nicksojka7457
@nicksojka7457 2 года назад
No, our biggest mistake was rescinding Josh Norman’s franchise tag that offseason. Not only did he have an awesome year, but he was willing to take the tag. But Dave Gettleman, our GM at the time, rescinded the tag due to “ego issues.” We had to spend 3 picks in that year’s draft to account for his loss. Had we kept Norman, we could’ve invested in an offensive line and kept our contending window open.

dude...there is a reason why...don't let your emotions cloud your judgement. When Lindsay came in...other teams stacked the box because they knew it was a run. He couldn't catch and was horrible in pass pro. We were essentially tipping our hand every time he came in. He also plays better in a zone scheme behind a fullback, which we don't run anymore of both. This was not a mistake...this was smart and It actually let Phillip go out and find a zone friendly team. His mistake for choosing the Texans, but I'm guessing he wanted to be the #1 back.

The Colts severely mishandled Luck's injuries which exacerbated the issues which directly led to Luck retiring. The dolphins trading Fitzpatrick want bad either because they got good compensation and he didn't want to be there, when you're trying to build a new team and culture it doesn't make sense to keep around players who don't want to be there and could potentially hurt the team's budding chemistry.

As a Dolphins fans biggest mistake of the Steelers in the last 5 years was the week 17 of last season. Where they decided to rest all of their starters against the Browns. Which screwed over the Dolphins chance of making the playoffs as they needed a Browns lost. And also fucked over the Steelers who by resting all of their starters were basically telling the Browns yea we want to face you guys in the playoffs so were happy to lose this game. Which not that the Browns needed extra motivation but it probably gave them some to know that the Steelers viewed them as the matchup they wanted for the wild card round. Which resulted in the Browns kicking the Steelers teeth in the first half and cruising to an easy win.

Yet knowing they were playing the Jags, Texans and Bengals the 3 worst teams in the NFL. So it was painful to know that your team wins 10 games which even when only 6 teams made the playoffs usually means for sure your in. Yet the first season they expand it to 7 teams winning 10 games should have meant you had like a 95% of making it. Yet somehow you have 8 teams in the AFC win 10 or more games. 100% agree on the Jared Goff's extension. There was no reason to give Jared his extension the off season after the Super Bowl run. Had they let it play out, they probably cut ties after 2019 season and try and make a splashy trade for this win now roster.

I completely agree about Hardman over Metcalf. When they drafted Hardman and I saw Metcalf on the board, I wanted to throw the remote through my TV screen. We have no number 2 receiver now that the often injured Watkins is gone. Metcalf would have made our offense even more incredible. Crazy pick!

The Colts have definitely done some bad stuff over the years, drafting Elway, Peyton and Luck for 2 SB appearances and 1 ring, but none of this happened the past five years. The reason why Luck was failed by the organisation is Ryan Grigson and that goes back all the way to 2012. And Grigson is already 5 years gone.

I appreciate you providing the context for the Ravens biggest mistake. There was no way that we couldn't extend Joe Flacco and to the guy's credit he bet on himself and boy did it pay off big. The problem was everyone in the world knew that we had to pay him, along with Flacco's agent, and thus they went for the jugular money wise. What apparently Joe didn't understand was the reason that offense was so successful was the passing weapons around him. Because of Flacco's incredibly stupid deal, we lost both #1 and #2 Receivers, then Dennis Pitta basically injures himself out of the league (terrible luck obviously, but it just added to the problems) and now your three primary targets are gone. You elevate Jacoby Jones, a glorified kick returner and #3 receiver to #1 and it bombs horribly. Every quarterback needs to take a lesson from Tom Brady and realize that if you would like to be successful, rather than trying to get paid every single dollar possible, leave enough on the salary cap that the team can put the money to use getting you weapons or protecting your dumb ass.

Honestly for the Bears, it wasn't Trubisky. It was signing Mike Glennon. Going into the offseason with the 3rd overall pick and no real QB, they had a plan to draft a developmental QB, and decided that Mike Glennon was the guy to help with that. If Trubisky sits 2017 behind a competent QB, maybe he develops like Ryan Pace envisioned.
