I HIGHLY RECOMMEND The Sacred Herbs of Samhain and the Scared Herbs of Spring by Ellen Evert Hopman. They are More of the Celtic Base, but they are SO GOOD! I talked about them a few times and I sent them last year as a Yule Present for a Friend and she loves them as well. I want more of her books as well.

I just recently purchased the seventy eight degrees of wisdom by Rachel Pollack, and am so excited to start reading it! I feel like I always tend to buy tarot books that are more "here's the card and its meaning," but never actually read one all the way through cover to cover. Rachel's book seems like its more of a story telling of the history as well as each card with their deeper meaning, which I think will help with my understanding and mastery of the tarot. Love watching your videos! I watched your Pagan happy hour video last night about Imbolc, so it got me inspired to do some things to celebrate today. Happy Imbolc!

Probably my most used book is Rune Hjarnø Rasmussen’s “The Nordic Animist Year” I always reference the day and it’s associated rune couplets for divination purposes.

'Encyclopedia of Witchcraft: The Western Tradition' by Richard Golden is the best encyclopedia on witchcraft out there. You can download it for free on Library Genesis, I wish I had a physical copy but it's expensive, about $100 used on Amazon. It's around 1200 pages long 'The History of the Devil: Horned God of the West, Magic and Worship' by R. Lowe Thompson (I got the hard cover marble looking one on Amazon, nice size). I love this book, saw it in Sarah Anne Lawless's shelf and bought it. 'The Migration of Symbols' by Count Goblet D'Alviella is pretty interesting

Really rich library you have. Symbolism and sabbats along with Wicca and Hinduism are subjects I'm interested in. It's also interesting that Taschen well known about its books on art, photography, cinema, design, architecture and fashion has published books on magick and occult, subjects not so easily accepted which is good since those are part of human acts for centuries and are present in all cultures, and in the end even if you don't believe in them is good to study at least for the cultural aspects of them.

At the beginning of the video I got a good chuckle when, before you pointed out which shelves were the books you were presenting, you were talking about pagan & witchy books and I'm seeing Wyeth, the Louvre, James Herriott, Umberto Eco, Home Repair... :-) (Jokes aside, I now have an even longer "gotta buy these" book list...)

I like the minimalism! Nice and balanced too. I keep running out of space for books and I feel like a hoarder. Gary and Pearson are really great authors. The Taschen books are really beautiful but their woke virtue signaling might not age well. I’d recommend anything by Nigel Pennick but I recently read Witchcraft and Secret Societies of Rural England. Definitely on the “nerdy historical” side of things and goes into detail about how folk beliefs have persisted into modernity. Really fascinating and lead to me diving into the rabbit hole of Renaissance and medieval magical beliefs. I’m really loving the history of ideas aspect. Our ancestors were hilariously insane. If you feel like you don’t spend enough of your money on weird books, check out the Foolish Fish RU-vid channel. He does great reviews and covers new books coming out.
