Vaguebooking about “more maintenance” I think he is confusing “preventative maintenance” with “repairs” because Bambu lab printers - like some cars - show reminders at intervals based on how much you print and time, to do things like lubricate the rails. Some owners ignore these, just as he has by ignoring prusa and elegoo’s maintenance regimines - but presents it as “had to do” because of the nag screen - which again, is preventative to keep from anything becoming an issue… then mentioned needing parts but no printers that need parts are maintenance free? 🙃
My 3Dprinter likes to forget about being able to stick to the build plate on a print that takes me 40 + hours then breaks of its build plate half way 💀💀😅
my 2 anycubic (photon S and m5s) have had 0 issues and are really just print and forget. the m7 pro is looking really great as you don't even need to empty the vat anymore. and given the size I'd recommend it over a prusa (slightly smaller but not too much, it's still plenty big, I'd get either a belted or a 400mm printer as an fdm). though they still have quirks, the m5s need internet for the wifi functionality (why not have a good ol' ftp/smb server) and recently I noticed an usb drive I bought isn't recognised. what I wouldn't recommend though is the high speed resin, the only advantage is if you need rapid prototyping, it's not a general use resin, it's brittle, split if you look at it wrong, the pigment separates quite fast (not that much of an issue as the max print time you'll get is like 4 hours, so you just need to mix it before pouring).
Sold my lulzbot, makerbot, and K1 because of how much downtime they had. My X1C has zero downtime in 7 months, 1,900 hours printed, thanks to its “maintenance”.
