Great video. I'm a born Panamanian and I wasn't aware of the many number of residency/visas that Panama offers, just amazing. Thanks for the information and for your visit 👍🏾 Yes, the diversity is outstanding, that is what make so special 💖
Hi Yarbros! I've been watching since Merida, MX. I was a little sad when y'all left Mexico, but watching y'all travel all these other countries has been great! Thank you for your content. I appreciate the perspective y'all bring to youtube!
You two are living your best lives and I love watching, you’re also putting a lot of work into your videos and making Americans look better everywhere you land.
it;s nice to see an AirB&B recommendation. Most say, "this was the best! " and then refuse to tell you where it is!. Glad to see you in Panama. I will enjoy seeing your perspective (I just found your channel). I went there last year and enjoyed it.
Cool! Glad you found us! We have a couple of more cities to see then we'll give our overall impressions. Meanwhile we sincerely enjoying ourselves here.
I am a senior and am new to your channel just subscribed excited to travel with u all beautiful couple on ya journey looking for a safe place for a senior
I'm 100% with you guys. Panama is my first stop on my early retirement tour. Thanks for the video. I've vacationed in Panama and really liked the experience.
Still hanging with you all. Haven’t been watching here lately this past month but glad to be back on track. Love your content and love there will be new explorations. I’m on this journey with you for temp residence abroad. Stay safe 🙏🏾
I loved this video. 💖 I don’t think I’ve ever seen you two smile so deep about a place. I’m definitely wanting a residency other than the u.s. in my pocket. Looks like I’ll be adding Panama to my list. Also I signed up for house/animal sitting using your link. Thanks a million for the discount.
I told you you guys would love Panama 🇵🇦❤️🇵🇦 But do not leave without going to Bocas de Toro, if you liked Limon Costa Rica you’re gonna love Bocas even more🥂
I can never get enough of your videos. You are my favorite YT because you are real and authentic. I feel like I am closer to my goals every time I watch the Yarbros.. Panama is very beautiful. I knew about it but I didnt know about it.
Love you for this! You are who we're talking to....we have lots of places like that on our list...we know but....need more info. Hopefully we can keep the info flowing! Thanks for being here for us!
Bro this was edited so well! From the "fly-like" perspective of the rooms 😂then transitioning to the gorgeous outside views, what did you use to edit?? You got yourself another subscriber! I'm a US citizen thinking about moving to Panama with my future wife from Philippines, do you know if that'd be a good idea? Trying to avoid the mandatory covid shot required by US for immigrants.
Totally appreciate the way y'all videoed everything to help me visualize what to expect. Sometimes it's hard to just listen to people talk. Lot's of info! Thanks! Wish you guys fun, excitement, and self fulfillment!
@ 2:10-2:40 - Skills.. 👏🏽 Do it Yarbros! Love your real estate renditions, and it’s always a pleasure to see the world through your lens. Panama seems inviting. 👍🏽
Panama wasn't love at first sight for me, but after living and traveling for 3+ years in different countries in Latam, it will now be my new home and I am happy about it! I guess you also need a little time to get used to the culture en general to be able to rate a country.
How beautiful to see you enjoy Panama... that's right, this small country is very diverse in the north of the country there are mountains climate with very cool temperatures the strawberry is the strawberry with chocolates it is the dessert of every day and the preferred place of retirement Boquete in the north Caribbean is Bocas del TORO IS A LITTLE PIECE OF cultural contribution of the afro community in panama with beautiful white sand beaches it is a charming environment with wooden houses like those of the antilles beaches like Isla Estrella or Punta Zapatilla are some of its beaches In the center of the country is the culture that protects folklore, you will see festivals that recall times of yore and just an hour and a half closer than Ye Gorgona is a group of islands in the Pacific but with beautiful white and yellow sands such as Contadora Isla del Rey , Taboga and the most beautiful for me with 12 almost virgin beaches of wheat-colored sand SABOGA IS PARADISE ON EARTH I hope you can go
Thank you for this video. (I am eager for air travel to return to normal.) I'm in retirement research mode. I love how you added the visa information--it's so important, but often not mentioned in detail by RU-vidrs. Panama is actually Plan B on my list for retirement. So, my special thanks for the video. When are you guys going to check out some of the 54 countries in Africa? (Or have you already done so? Please let me know.) Retirement somewhere on The Continent is my Plan A; I am currently considering several southeast and southern countries. Except for South Africa, I have not found many RU-vidrs talking about retirement there.
Mike Ben.... just a tip of advice. August/September is still the rainy season and it could rain every day. The best time is January through March/April which is the dry season and the best time to travel around the country and enjoy the beaches or mountains.
YYYYYYAAAAARRBBBROOOOSSS!!! IT HAS BEEN A MINUTE!!! HAPPY TO SEE ALL IS WELL AND DOING YOUR THING AND WHAAAAA YOU GOT RONDELL TO DO HOUSESITS????😮😮😮🤣🤣🤣 GOOD STUFF. KEEP SHINING!!🙏🏾👍🏾💯
Love your video. I was hoping to meet up with you in Panama City but we arrived late in the City and returned to Florida the next day. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in the city and also Boquete.
Too bad we couldn't connect but glad you enjoyed your time here! We heard that Boquete was something special...hopefully we can make it out there......
One of the things that I admire about Panama is how they structure benefits for the average person. If one purchases a home if it is under $120,000, this helps the majority of people. After 120k, it is still low at 1/2 of 1%, so a 200k home is still only $400 a year in taxes. Over 750K sales price, it is a higher percentage but that is more of a luxury home anyway.
Why do you believe a purchase under 120K helps the population? Just curious. Their tax structure seems to benefit foreigners with money to me. I don't see the benefit to their people...but I would be interested in learning.
@@TheYarbros I'm not coming from an expat perspective, I'm seeing this as benefitting the local Panamanian who is buying a home under this price range. I'm contrasting it with the US economy where many tax incentives seem to favor the wealthy. Many people in the countryside work in the agricultural sector. If one makes less than 350k per year in agriculture they pay no taxes. This allows subsistence farmers or people with the classic small family business to survive.
Even lower incomed Panamanians have access to low cost medical. One can go to a public medical clinic for a few dollars and have medical care. This is another benefit that helps the local Panamanian. Taxes are much higher for the local population in Costa Rica by comparison. One pay around 10% of their declared income for the public health option, so it can be a hardship for the poorer members of a society. Again, this is only contrasting Costa Rica and Panama, not other nations.
I'm very happy with being a permanent resident of Panama and I have a great appreciation to the people and government of Panama. I'm not a wealthy retiree and live quite simply here in Panama and I contribute to the extent that I am able to do so. Having my permanent residency through the Pensionado program, I am not able to work in Panama. Thus, I'm not taking a job away from any local person. So, whatever I spend in Panama, is a benefit to the country. I use the private medical system, since I didn't pay into taxes here, I don't think I should avail myself of a system that I didn't participate in. One of the reasons that the Friendly Nations program was changed was that previously it was only 5k to get permanent residency and then these people could be in competition with the citizens for jobs. So, by now having to invest 200k into real estate or in the bank, it establishes that new people have some resources in the changing world economy. As one can see with Ecuador changing their requirements, residencies are becoming more concerned with the world economy. So as time goes on it will be more expensive and there will be less opportunities.
I LOVED your video!! Yes, we need OPTIONS! Thanks for visiting Panama. How long will you be here? Yes, the Pacific is "RUDE" LOL . . . I had one Member who MOVED because the waves gave her anxiety! BEINVENIDO PANAMA!!
Panama is like USA..there many culture...beautiful beaches... The food dif. Prices..not so expensive. Houses depend of your budget.. Enjoy your steady in Panama..
Great Video! The age requirement for the Pensioners visa is surprising. I would love to see a video that touches on the 20 countries that you have been to.
@@TheYarbros it is a small community in the mountains. Of course there is also an expat community there. It is beautiful and one of my favorites place as Panamanian. Boquete is also highly recommended, but that is further almost to the border with Costa Rica.
Wow beautiful i wish you could visit David before you go.We are here going on 3 months and looking to retire here.I use to live in Malaysia and that is a good country to retire in.So many beautiful countries to see.
Yes, you don't hear about Malaysia as much as other Asian countries the it is a gem! We want to make it out there but time and money are conflicting w/ desire big time #life 😁
You guys must be headed to Ecuador. I just came from there. I loved it. Guayaquil isn't a great place to visit, just a warning. But Quito is amazing. Spanish is BIG there. Much more than Panama. It's harder to get what you need without it. If you need a connect in Quito, I know a brother to show you around.
Sooo.... Panama City or Gorgola? I like that greenery. I can see myself planting a garden in my yard. Sorry if I butchered that name. Hehe Y'all plan on staying in Panama for a while? I think US citizens can stay there 6 months on tourist visa. The house-sitting gig sounds wonderful. Me and my wife gonna do that when we go abroad again in 2023. Love y'all and I ride or die with y'all on RU-vid.
Your videos are great. I'm considering moving to Panama when I retire. How long will you guys stay in Panama? Will you visit other areas like Boquete or El Valle de Anton?
Thanks! We will likely be here for another week or so. We were considering Boquete but its rainy and pretty remote so maybe El Valle and a couple of other towns before we leave.
I’m a permanent resident. I’ve been here since Nov 2020. I’ve lost 35 pounds and truly have a new lease on life. Panamá resonates with me. I love it here.💕
Wonderful video amigos, I really enjoyed your helpful insight on what Panama has to offer. Always anxious to watch the next adventure as y'all always deliver. Stay safe & blessed always-- Thank you Apryl and Rondell. Much love, much happiness always. (。^ω^。)♡
Hi there! Were you talking about Ecuador when you mentioned a country that requires $800 a month for temporary residency and uses the USD? If so, it has gone up to $1275 a month per person and I'm not sure for a dependent. Are you going to Boquete up north in your travels? Thanks for sharing...your filming is really great!
@@TheYarbros Yes, I believe it happened in March or thereabouts. It had been at $425 (it went down after the pandemic came, and then they tripled it. I have two sources of retirement income...SS isn't quite enough for the new minimum, but my teacher retirement is more than enough...always something, right?
Did you scope out hairdressers for African hair? I love the way you have your hair but I know it can be high maintenance. For me and retirement years, I’d like to know my hair doesn’t become a high maintenance routine. Please share !
You can connect with us through our website theyarbros.com/expat-coaching/ Our major suggestion is pretty basic. Research, research and more research. Taxes, climate, neighborhoods, political stability. Next, would be to get you a contact person who is there. 3rd visit and explore life there before any commitments.
Y'all both are such an inspirational couple. 100 countries takes courage and patience. I'd be like, girl please this place looks nice. We don't have to try out everything :) The question I have for you is, which one of you is the Spanish expert? For us it is my wife and I'm getting my duolingo on. What do you recommend to learn Spanish quickly?
Apryl is more fluent than I am. I tend to understand live conversations better. Together we're competent lol. In regards to best language learning....I think immersion in cartoons, kids shows and music are best.
@@meharijon1763 I used a cheap version of Adobe that I can own outright called Adobe Premier Elements not the best but it works for me. I also use Inshot for certain effects...yeah I do them on my phone and import the clips over. Suggestions: Learn the capabilities of your editor...what it does well and what it dosent do well. Try to be as dynamic with your visual storytelling as you are with your oration. Play with natural transitions, I find it really resonates w/ the audience. Best wishes on your journey!
Just when I was settled on CR y’all got me thinking about panama. I need more info on where the food healthcare is - besides deep in the city and what the rents are in places like Gorgono. Are u going to Bocas, Chitre, Las Tablas? Volcan? I hope u will explore and share more before u leave. Btw, do y’all get more $ if I let the ads play? I tend to skip but if y’all benefit I’ll let ‘em roll Stay well!🤴🏾👸🏾🖤🙏🏽👏🏾🥰
Healthcare in CR is better but it's really good here. There is a clinic in Cordona that most expats use. Rents in Gargona...depends oceanfront costs between $800- $2500/ month nice condos run about $1200/ month. We didn't plan on hitting up Bocas. It dosent seem like our vibe w/ the lack of infrastructure and it's a long way to travel. We will def hit up some other areas before we leave and try to answer more of your questions. Appreciate you!
@@TheYarbros I feel like prices are rising faster than my social security. Thank you for responding. I wanna give y’all a hug and cook ya a meal. That’s the way us old Black Ladies show Gratitude. 🙏🏽🥗🌮🌯🥙🥞🍰🍮
Imm gonna say no you don't NEED one but it will def make your life more convenient. There are cheap taxis everywhere and we had (3 taxi drivers) numbers as soon as we got there but had we rented a car we could have done much more.
@@DanSmith-oj2vo I like Gorgona because it's an hour outside the city...a short drive. It's in an inexpensive area and close to the beach....but it us a rather country environment. Panama City or closer to it would be the move if you prefer a "city" life. I hear that Boquete if a nice place as well.
@@TheYarbros Boquete is very nice. I’ve been there twice. It’s cooler in the mountains. I think we are going to concentrate our search in Panama City. Once we are staying there, we’ll take trips to the beach and to El Valle.
