@@reca2489 If the RB20 is as I expect it to be, then Max'24 has only one driver to compete with virtually: Max'23. I never expected Max'23 to utterly humiliate Max'22 but he did mercilessly: smashed all Max'22 records and a few others as well. And all Max wanted was to get into F1 and see if he could win a WDC in F1, out of sheer curiosity. He got what he wanted but he is still curious, as Jos Verstappen desperately cried: "Where will this end??" Curious Max just wants to find out. "In a league of his own", he can't look at others, so he 'boldly goes where no man has gone before'. In his space ship...

If Verstappen gets maximum points from the last 2 races, and Hamilton scores 12 points or less from those races. Then he will overtake Lewis for the highest "average points per race" in formula one history. Pretty crazy considering Hamilton has been part of 9 constructors championship winning teams, whilst Verstappen has only been part of 2. He also holds the record for the largest points deficit overturned to become world champion. Having won the 2022 world championship despite being 46 points behind LeClerc at one stage. He holds the record for the most wins not starting from pole position in a single season, with 9 victories not starting from pole in the 2022 season. Another (joint) record he holds, is the highest number of wins from different grid slots. Having won races from 9 different positions on the grid. If he ever wins a race from 5th or 8th on the grid, he will hold that record outright. And in terms of a single season, in 2022 he won the most races from different grid slots. Having won races from 7 different grid slots that year alone. He also holds the record for the most victories in formula one, before ever achieving a pole position. He won 7 races before he ever got a pole, which proves he can win despite not having the quickest car.

And upcoming are most points in a season, also with increasing calendar easier to get, but will take long time to get more then Max has. @Jacobus666
@Jacobus666 7 месяцев назад
Another important record for this season is not a drivers record but a constructors record, if RB win both remaining races then that would break the record for the highest percentage of wins ever by a constructor in a season. I think if they can break that record, the debate for the most dominant season ever is done.

@footballnerd277
@footballnerd277 7 месяцев назад
@@Jacobus666 The thing is, nearly all of the wins were Verstappen wins though. So I don't think it proves that this years Red Bull is the most dominant car ever. If it were the most dominant car ever, they'd be getting 1-2 every race. Both drivers would be 30+ seconds ahead of the field like they were for Mercedes in their dominant years. When in reality, that hasn't been close to the case. Perez has only finished top two in 6 out of 19 races this season. There's been seven qualifying sessions where he didn't even make it out of Q1. He showed with other teams that he's a competent driver, probably top half on the grid. Yet he's been nowhere near dominating races this season.
@Croga
@Croga 7 месяцев назад
@@footballnerd277 But even with the other teams, Checo was unstable. Having moments of utter brilliance (pink race win comes to mind) and moments of utter, utter misery. Basically the same he's showing at RB. Checo is an amazing driver. He's shown exceptional form in 2021 and 2022. But he can sometimes be a bit unstable. Most of his issues this year stemming from frustration more than anything else (just about every DNF was the result of a move that just wasn't there)

Great video. Just make sure you dont cut up the numbers too much. Its a shame when it is 266 and the 66 starts on a new line

im trying to figure out where that accent comes from. The Netherlands? net als Max? xD
@ItsMaryWork
@ItsMaryWork 7 месяцев назад
It's a Shetland accent actually, from Scotland! Accents vary a lot throughout Scotland, hence why while it's still similar to the normal accent you'd think of when you think of "the Scottish accent" it's also different because Shetland has it's own dialect

He has had a great season. No 😅be else able to get consistently close. Will it last? Well nothing lasts forever and the bigger test is therefore to come. Will it be in 24? Hmmm. On current field form it looks unlikely. But the pack are closing in. The biggest test will come in 26 with new regs, and a whole new game. It’s going to be exciting, hopefully more exciting than the current season runaway success, virtually unchallenged. He needs competition. So do the F1 fans

I miss the record for being the most boeed F1 driver, those are not F1 fans btw. Max is probably the best F1 driver ever. Lets hope the coming years he will get 5 more championships.

btw, something that is not recognised as a record but imho very interesting: NUMBER/PERCENTAGE OF POINTS DID HE NOT GET IN A SEASON. This imho is very revealing with regard to the domination of the driver. If I'm not mistaken, MV will end up with 11.5% - 7.3% from the perfect score by the end of the season. In comparison, in 2022 he was 20.7% from the perfect score. This metric only makes makes sense when you get close to the maximum. But this year it shows really how far beyond the competition he really was.

It has never been so close in a season if you leave Max out of this equation...The racing is great this year overall, Max doing his thing and still doing things like pitting for 1 point while in the lead or overtaking 2 people on the pit lane exit....Just awesome. Don't forget it's a constructors sport, the drivers are on the second place. It's only a boring season because you like the drivers more than racing in general...Max already deserved my respect, now i am hyped about Piastri and Lawson, 2 good drivers that belong in F1 and potentially can be world camp one day if they get their hand on a race winning car.

Yeah there doesn't have to be a fight for the drivers title for it to be an entertaining season, sure Max has dominated everything but it's been great to really see what he can achieve when absolutely everything clicks, and the midfield has been entertaining as it always is. And I agree on Lawson and Piastri, definitely looking forward to seeing what they can do in the coming years.

His first championship is tainted by Masi, always will be. His overtaking makes no attempt to hold the racing line on corner exit. He's fast as hell, but I hate his style.
@Ehm593
@Ehm593 7 месяцев назад
Why should his first championship be tainted? Max never did anything wrong, or irregular, or against the rules to win the race. And if he hadn’t won enough points during the year, the last race of the season wouldn’t have mattered. He did nothing wrong. Red Bull did nothing wrong. Why “taint” him?
@LVQ-so5th
@LVQ-so5th 7 месяцев назад
You forget that Hamilton and Bottas crashed him out of races that he likely would have won that season So he would have won the championship early had that not happened. As it was, he still made an incredible pass on the last lap to win. He deserved that championship, 100%.

@PB-sk9jn
@PB-sk9jn 7 месяцев назад
@@alexderegt3925 The FIA broke their own rules on safety car handling, handing the advantage to Red Bull unfairly. Red Bull went for tire advantage, with loss of track position & time. Mercedes gave up tire advantage, for track position, which was their right. FIA removed the rack position Mercedes were entitled to over Red Bull (four cars) and the rules said it SHOULD have finished under the safety car while they unlapped. Where is Masi now? The rules were broken, handing Verstappen the championship. The FIA interfered and changed the result.
