Helpful vid, but the bg music under everything is, frankly, annoying. Please, don’t do that, cause everything else valuable info. Thank you for this, even with my snarkiness.
Adding atmosphere is good but probably just wrong music choice. BG music was just too “busy” it detracted from the focus on the info being explained which is why we’re watching in the first place.
Dude he is so much louder than the background music. I didn’t even notice after the first couple minutes until after I saw your lame criticism (when I got around to the comment section about 12:30 minute mark .. 😒
Let us all go to his channel and see if he has more informative videos…that are perfectly put together… 🙄 This guy is a saint, don’t be such a troll. 🙄
6:48 QUANTIZE: With tracks for which LOOP SYNC (p. 3) is “ON,” under any of the conditions listed below, your timing will be corrected (Loop Quantize) based on the tempo and time signature of the rhythm, even if the timing at which you press a button is slightly inaccurate. If the rhythm is on If there is an already-recorded track whose LOOP SYNC is turned on If the MIDI Sync is on * The QUANTIZE setting applies only during recording. It is ignored during overdubbing or playback. * When you stop recording, it is quantized to match the measure length of the previously-recorded track (LOOP SYNC: ON) or rhythm. QUANTIZE: OFF: Recording begins the instant you perform the operation. When you stop recording, it is quantized to match the measure. QUANTIZE: MEASURE: Quantize to the measure start location for recording.
@@EXTRA300s It's an amazing machine. Since it's my first loopstation I've been mainly using covers to test all the effects but I'm starting to create my own tracks. I haven't published anything myself but I hope to soon
@@EdanLeahy I do own the 505 mk2 for a week, but I have never used such a looper or synthesizers. It's not that easy for me, but RU-vid will help me out. I'm a drummer for a very long time, and I want to make a own sounds to drumming at. :)
7:46 LOOP LENGTH Specifies the length to which LOOP SYNC (p. 3) aligns the beginnings of the material for loop sync. AUTO: The length of the first-recorded phrase will be the LOOP LENGTH. 1-25362: Manually specifies the number of measures that will be looped.
10:29 PHONES OUT: These parameters specify the track to output from the PHONES jack. * When STEREO LINK (p. 11) is “ON,” MAIN, SUB 1 and SUB 2 are shown. MAIN-L, R: The track set in “MAIN-L, R” (p. 11) of ROUTING/TRACK is output. SUB1-L, R: The track set in “SUB1-L, R” of ROUTING/TRACK is output. SUB2-L, R: The track set in “SUB2-L, R” of ROUTING/TRACK is output. INDIVIDUAL: The track set in “PHONES” of ROUTING/TRACK is output. PHONES MONITOR: * This is shown when the SW parameter of ROUTING/PHONES OUT is set to “INDIVIDUAL". OFF, ON: When this is set to “ON,” the track’s sound always plays back through the PHONES jack, regardless of the track slider position.
15:10 MEMORY EXT: Specify the extent in which memories can be switched (lower limit: MIN / upper limit: MAX). MIN. 01-99 MAX. 01-99 Guess you can kind of set Memories to ReadOnly from how the ParameterGuide is phrasing it that is at least my guess ( :
7:48 SPEED CHANGE: Specifies the timing at which the playback speed switches to the speed set in TEMPO SYNC SPEED (p. 3). IMMEDIATE: The change will occur immediately. LOOP END: The change will occur after playback has reached the end of the loop. Seems like you were wrong. At least the ParameterGuide says nothing about the metronome ( :
15:03: AUTO OFF: Turns the Auto Off function on/off. If this is “ON,” the power will turn off automatically when 10 hours have passed since you last played or operated the unit. Guess you did not touch your precious long enough for it to turn itself off XDD
7:54 SYNC ADJUST : When SPEED CHANGE is set to “IMMEDIATE,” this sets the conditions for synchronizing the start of the tracks. MEASURE: The starting points of the tracks are synchronized if they are out of alignment by one measure or less. BEAT: The starting points of the tracks are synchronized if they are out of alignment by one beat or less.
I wanted to say thank you very much you are the only reason I know how to save a project in the new MK2 and you are very very very helpful man so keep doing what you're doing it's a blessing you're very very kind thank you so much
Great summary...but way too fast. An ideal followup would be setting it up for a real gig based on use cases for guitar and voice. It could be a series of videos that build experience with the unit incrementally and may include foot pedal setups.
Is there a specific setting where which would make the recording start as soon as i press the record button instead of where it waits til i make a sound?
Thanks for the video! Quantization is the looper trying to time your notes/beats on the measures. So when you are slightly off on your rhythm, the quantize function help you nudge everything right on the measure.
Thanks for this explanation. I'm having a really odd time with my RC505mk2, the input fx when recorded are quiet compared to previewing them. I really don't understand what I have done to make this happen. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hi! Thanks so much for a really helpful video. I was wondering if you could PLEASE help me with an issue I'm having. When I record my tracks with a certain input fx, the fx doesn't stay in the recording at all. It's like the fx works for the live output but not for the recorded loops. Do you know why this might be happening? I have also tried recording my loops with the track fx on but those don't record either...Thank you!!
I know this might sound stupid, but how do I setup up my rc-505 mkii unit so the input effects are recorded into the track I'm making? For some reason mine won't do it, unless of course I have some setting not set up correctly? Please let me know because I've been racking my brain trying to figure this out!
I can’t find the video prior to this.. All I want and I can never find anything anywhere is the count in settings.. I want to have at least 4 beats before recording into a track. Please help
Thank you DgyMie, I am still waiting for my MKII to arrive on May 2022, I cant wait to browse your tutorial while testing it!I am beginner with never touch on any beatbox looping device
Hi DgyMie, are you wearing the DT770 pro? If so, do you run an amp for those headphones as they're 80ohms, or do you plug them straight into your mk2? I want to buy the DT770 but idk if the mk2 can run an 80ohm headphones.
Please NEVER EVER use that background music again - As a musician you should know better than to throw some random super distracting clashing music ON TOP of a video explaining things to do with SOUNDS - This type of stuff are usually done by people who don't understand music and just throw bunch of annoying stuff in the background because they were told you need "background music" but you can do better and never do that again. Keep it silent so we can hear what you are saying and see the full effects you are doing. Other than that the video is useful
Maaaannnnn please help!!!! I want to record drumms, but I need my boss to play a few mesures with tempo before start recording. So - idea is to click record and start play drums then after few measures will start record.... Is that posibble? In MkI was posibility like that only for one measure.
Hi, i have problem whit connection loop station whit mixer...doesn't work. I can't hear from loop anything. Could you help me whit connection (maybe cabels or).
Hello, great tutorial, well done. Can you tell me how to get Auto Rec to work on tracks using a MIDI keyboard and Ableton. Auto Rec only works with mic and guitar?
You have a good video but all that background music is distracting when your trying to play that 505 and other music is being played makes it hard to stay focus also ,,,,How Can you add your own MIDI and Wav file Drum beats ,,,i went to the site and there is nothing there i like I have SD3 and EZD3 from ToonTrack Drums and I want to use them How Can I add these to my 505
Question for you unrelated to the loop station. What mic are you using & what would you recommend for a studio recording mic? I'm a hip-hop vocalist if that helps. Just hoping for some incite so I can make a well worth investment, & you seem like you know your shit. Thank you in advance!
Hello brother, how are you? I only have two questions.....one is how to place the volume of the rhythm on the main screen.....and the other is where is the rec count off??? because before recording I want you to throw me a drink thanks
Thank you so much for your videos on the mkii, I really appreciate and they helped me use it for a show last week with only 2 days to practice and figure it out, can’t thank you enough man it was a great show with the mkii!!
I plan to use this as an audio interface as well. But i couldnt figure out how to make it so i dont hear myself in the mic all the time? Is there a solution?
What effects are you using to make the kick drum so bassy? Amazing how quickly you already know the machine dude. I still cant get one in england. Thanks for the info. Is it just extra bass eq?
@@DgyMie Im guessing LPF then. Thanks a lot. Ive been experimenting with double eq, eq with filter and eq then supporting with guitar to bass, All do similar sounds. Many roads to rome. Thanks for your answer though, i will expirment more with the filter
I was going nuts, because all tutorials I found dealt with the rc-505. It was so difficult to translate the settings on the mkII. Thx for helping me out.
Thanks you Thank You! I was trying to get a track to play longer than 1 measure despite setting it longer. Recording a blank track to the length you want did the trick.. Nothing in the manual about that. You saved my sanity !!!
I've heared about your video, I just haven't got time enough yet to watch but yeah I know that loopy is smashing it and I will for sure at some point try it
Thanks for the video man! For some reason usage of some effects (such as OSC BOT) on my mk2 makes the sound volume really low, to hear something I need to turn the output level to the max possible value. Any idea why does it happen or how I can fix it?
@@DgyMie it's so strange for me, it's kind of out of the box, I haven't changed anything from the start besides updating it to 1.04. Really nervous about it, that was a lot of money and I'm not sure where to ask for support with this issue. Really greatful to you for the response, that means a lot!
When I edit input FX it saves it to a specific memory not a global save. Is this is a bug in my machine or this is how it is meant to go? I'd like to make global changes to the input fx so every memory I record onto shows the same input FX. Is this possible? Thanks
Hola amigo¡¡ me gustaria preguntarte una cosa. El volumen del ritmo (rhythm) se puede controlar independiente al volumen de los track¿? Yo no encuentro la manera. Gracias¡¡
Can someone help. I cant get the input fx to be heard in real time. only after recording. I am using an external speaker plugged in the phones jack of the rc 505mk2. what could be wrong? Cant get the input fx to be heard with headphones either
I used the 300 for years, but that blew out on me at the beginning of 2022 I finally got this, and having an issue recording loops.. the 300, everything was sync'd to the length of the first loop.. This seems like each track can be its own time.. and sometimes they dont start when i hit record, and sometimes dont stop when i hit stop If this is in this video and i missed it can someone time stamp it.. or anyone with any tips, thankss
Thx a lot for the video - I learned MUCH more from it than from reading the rather thin manual. I have recently bought the RC 505 mk2 along with a Boss FS 7 pedal. Still I haven't found a good way to simply trigger several guitar tracks/loops with the pedal. All gear from the same brand....
Hello, DgyMie! Thank You very much for your video! Could You please answer the question. In User Manual documentation in section Getting Ready on the page no 5 we can find: [FX] buttons. These buttons select whether to apply effects (input FX/track FX) for each track or not (effects are applied when the buttons are lit, and not applied when unlit). Also there is in section Creating a Loop Phrase (subsection Recording with Input FX) the next text: 1. Press the [FX] button for each track to turn its effects (input FX/track FX) on/off. It’s true, using [FX] buttons we can switch ON or OFF ‘track FX’ effects for tracks. But in my case [FX] buttons are not related with applying ‘input FX’ effects for the tracks. In both cases, when [FX] button is lit, or unlit, ‘input FX’ effect is applied for track. Is it really possible use [FX] buttons for switching ON or OFF ‘input FX’ effects for tracks? Thank You!
Super awesome vid! Keep it up! I watched this several times before upgrading to the mk2 thinking I would remember any of it😂 now I have turned this into a 2hr event because I keep pausing & messing with things lol I'm only half way through the vid this time lmaoo😂
I need some help. I've had my rc-505 mkII for a week now and it was working fine up until a couple of days ago. all audio the mic picks up is super distorted and loud and i have no idea why. I've tried replacing my head phones and my mic cables but to no effect. I know its not the microphone either as it worked perfectly well before and it works perfectly well with other things. Has anyone else had this problem and if so does anyone know how to fix it? thanks.
