Every Single Known Commando Squad to Exist in the Clone Wars 

Republic Commando was such a great game and it's a crime that it didn't get an Imperial Commandos sequal.

If I comment it enough one day you will go back and re-read republic commando to realize that Etain is a Jedi Knight by the time of Triple Zero. She was a padawan in Hard Contact but as is blatantly stated at the start of Triple Zero she had passed the trials and become a Jedi Knight during the period between the books.

Republic Commando novels will also hold a special place in my heart. I memorized the Mando language in the back of those books and felt like the King Nerd. Karen Traviss, you will always be one of my favorite authors.

Imagine giving up years of life to training just to have the jedi get you killed in open field combat. Scratch that, imagine living your life, being recruited to train commandos, whilst your family and friends think you're dead only to have the commandos you sacrificed time and effort to train, get wiped out by jedi incompetence, leading them into open combat. Mate, I'd be pissed.

A shame we’ll never know if Sev is still out there. The premise of him being the one who sort of founded the rebel alliance special forces sounded amazing.

I just LOVED playing Republic Commando growing up, in fact it was surprisingly easy for me to beat.

We've had videos on the battles Delta Squad was involved in in the game Republic Commando, but how about a video on one of their adventures from a book, or a video on a Battle another batch of Commandos was involved in, like Ion Team when Order 66 came in?

So, Tark Squad wasn't a regular commando unit in the GAR, they were actually a group of Thrysian mercenaries trained to infiltrate the Republic by the Sun Guard, Sarsius Torne. Tark Squad was made to try and capture Anakin Skywalker as part of a deal with Darth Sidious.

I got to play one hour of pvp before they shut the servers down. Most fun I've had in fps pvp. That game was awesome and the reason I started digging into Mandalorian lore. The Republic Commando Books are still my favorite of all the Star Wars books.

Republic Commando is a great game its gritty kinda like COD or Battlefront.

I've seen people compare Clone Commandos to US Navy SEALS, and ARC Troopers to US Army Rangers. Wonder how accurate this is, in practice 🤔

ARC troopers are exactly like Rangers and here is why. 1. Null ARCs and 72nd Ranger Battalion are very similar. Not only do both receive specialized training but the way they're deployed into combat is very similar. This bit comes from the US Army and describes the 72nds role: "Their capabilities include conducting airborne and air assault operations, seizing key terrain such as airfields, destroying strategic facilities, and capturing or killing enemies of the nation." These are exactly the types of missions we see the Null ARCs carrying out. 2. So what about ARCs like Fives, Rex, and Jesse and other ARCs outside the Nulls? In the US Army there are also Rangers who serve in other units. This is a similarity that only works with the US Army Rangers. 3. In Star Wars we see commanders like Gree, Cody, and Fox go through ARC training. Again this is another comparison that only works with the Army Rangers. The US Army has a program called the IBOLC which is a program that trains Army Lieutenants and includes Ranger school. So yes, ARCs and Rangers have unique similarities and makes for the best comparison. This information comes from my father who completed Ranger school and served inside the 82nd Airborne. I'm other words, trust me bro ;)

To me, the clone commando with the biggest guys will always be Darman. Why? Because the idea of the adult with the brain of a nine-year-old boy knocked up a teenage Jedi Padawan will be the greatest achievement any clones could have ever done.

Clone commandos are elites. I just wished they weren’t treated like stormtroopers in TBB but as their elite self actually being a threat like Scorch.

I had to go and relaunch the commandos game just for the intro after hearing the music in the 1:35 clip. I thought for sure you edited in the Emperor's theme into the background as a little touch, but no. The game itself had it really just sprinkled in there and thought nobody would notice.

It hurts every single time the tragic story of all the dead commados on geonosis is told. Its such a shame they were used as regular soldiers instead of doing commado stuff😔

The Bad Batch is hands down my favorite Commando Squad. Nuff Said.

Timely watching this after finishing up a rewatch on Star Marshal's playthrough of this game. Highly recommend viewing it. And boy, do I really want to see a Republic Commando-styled strike group do some action even in a non-Star Wars storyline (preferably an animated series. The Bad Batch just... fails to tickle my Legends loving fancy, you know. Addendum: By the way, H.O.P.E. Squad gets too much mocking vitriol from a lot of dimwits.

To say they were not "trained" for battle alongside clone troopers is not correct. They can fight as an infantry force but their skills and lives are wasted in this role. The deaths were down to the General's misuse of the commandos themselves as they treated the entire GAR as cannon fodder to just throw troops at the enemy.
