Fordo is the sole reason I regard the ARCs as elite because he actually displayed his skills in motion.

Fordo & the Muunilist gang were awe-inspiring to me as a kid. Republic Commandos may have gotten a video game, but I always wanted an ARC game!

I think a lot of people especially casuals forget that the average Clone reg was 2.5 to 3 times stronger than the average human their size, much more durable and had insane accuracy. The reason the Empire got rid of them in nu canon was probably because if they revolted in mass (which they kinda did) they'd be in deep crap.

This video has some incorrect information, the null class ARC troopers were the first clones and they weren't suggested by jango, they were nothing more than test subjects to see how far the kaminoan's could push jango's DNA only 6 out of 12 survived "birth" and the survivors quickly became near psychotic due to the modifications and rigorous training to test the limits of the human psyche. The alpha ARCs on the other hand were the first 100 ARC troopers that had barely modified jango DNA and were directly suggested by him and trained by him.

The null arcs deserve their own video.

I've heard a theory that 99 was one of the Alpha class ARCs, but due to obvious reasons, was slated for decommissioning, before instead being reassigned to Maintenance.

I wouldn’t say the Kal adopting the Nulls made them worse, A) they would have died otherwise and B) they were usually more normal than most clones (low a bar as that is). They didn’t seem much worse off than any other commando, maybe a bit angrier because they actually understood their life but that’s to be expected. That said the kaminoian skin gloves might have been a bit too far.

While I cannot deny how badass the ARCs are, clone commandos will remain my favorite special forces in the GAR

Captain Fordo and the Muunalist 10 are the best of the best of this badass series of Clones. No other Clone unit can compare, except maybe Delta Squad. But still badass and my favorite Clones ever!

Kal didn’t give the nulls ptsd. They got that from live fire exercises they were put in before kal even arrived on kamino. He noticed on his first night that even thunderstorms activated their ptsd. My headcanon is this: the Alpha-class ARC troopers are the main ARCs of the Republic Special Ops Brigade, while the GAR had its own ARC troopers as a rank that normal troopers could be promoted to.

Legends Alpha ARC’s, Null ARC’s, and Commandos are honestly better than anything canon has been able to put out. As much as I love Rex and the other Clone Wars boys, they just can’t compare to the OG’s.

My head canon is that some Alpha ARCs are on steroids like Alpha 17 and some, like Fordo and the other ones in the 2003 show aren’t. The ones on steroids are more unpredictable which is why they were in those tanks on Kamino

Gotta say, im still Confused and salty, that Lego made an Arc trooper set and decided to base the armour-printing on Hammer, they could have chosen Colt, Echo, Fives, but they went with hammer...

So, I suppose all or at least most of 5's attributes were characteristic of a quintessential ARC Commando.

Clones. For better and for worse, they mostly go rogue, wayward, and/or mad. For the former, ask Fate Testarossa, and for the latter, ask almost any Commander Shepard. Still prefer the CWMMP clones. No inhibitor chips plus being more soulless and properly professional makes them beasts compared to Dee Bradley Baker's overly friendly and horrendously chipped takes. Edit: Also would prefer clones over Project Nightwing and the karking Night Troopers. Zombie armies will never catch on like the Virtual Boy.

TCW tv series absolutely ruined ARC troopers compared to the Dark Republic comic series, the 2003 show and the Commando books.

It's a bs claim that skirata's training gave the nulls their psd. They already head that when he found them at about 2 years of age (4 - 5). They already wher put into live fire training with blasters and explosives. This stuff only started at age 5 (10) for later rc's. Besides that their training was no different to skirata's rc's n definitly not the worst. Eventhough vau deemed him too soft, his rc's also only suffered 10kia of 100 total. Vau lost 14 of 114 so his cold n brutal way actually wasn't at all the reason for his better survival rate. Just take delta, who had a reputation of working sloppy n rough, leaving behind a huge mess whereever they went, not what u want 4 covert op's n their survival as a pot had liitle to do with superior training but mostly with luck to have been deployed n used the way they were supposed to operate. The main difference related to training, was the overwhealming share of non - mando trainrd rc'c, who where killed almost completely. Given how geneticly disadvantaged the nulls were through instable experimental changes to their dna on top of the already antisocial fett template, combined with the level of trauma they had beyond any other type of clone trooper including alphas n compairing their developed personalities to alphas, it looks to me like skirata made them into way better adjusted human beings than alphas r. Even where they struggled socially to adjust into society they still knew how to pretend n when. In general they were very selfaware of their issues n why they had them where alphas didn't saw anny issue to begin with in their behavior, which tended to agression, lack of self control n a drilled in believe to be superior to everyone. Yet, they were way less intelligent than nulls n therefore less able to selfreflect n check there impulses. Also the issue of being uncontrollable was limited to following orders which nulls only did 4 skirata. Thx to his education they still became able of evolving extreme n unshakable devotion to others, if they developed a certain level of trust. This level of loyalty they could get 4 any type of person including jedi, civilians n any other troopers. Given the total lack of ability to bond with anyone among alphas n the rc's having that usually to their potbrothers or squadmates n their instructor in some cases, it looks to me that the nulls only real flaw was the unwillongness to follow any orders n the way they got traumatized way earlier than the rest. From a broader view as humans besides in combatsituations, they were way better equipped to live normally, than any of the other spec op's clones of the rc n alpha arc batches.

The Null troopers were a poor excuse for a power fantasy written by a writer who had no experience with Star Wars, and completely misunderstood the materials she was given and had a pathological hatred for the Jedi. Yes, really, and was very fond of calling anybody who disagreed with her a Talifans (remember, this was in the height of the war on terror )and anyone who defended the Jedi were N*zis according to her…. The Nulls could’ve been an interesting faction, but the fact of the matter is is that it was written by a woman who is pretty much xenophobic, misogynistic, ableist, jargonistic to the max about hard, military tactics, perfectly fine with ignoring civil liberties as long as it quote, gets the job done“ and just a poor understanding of the universe entirely. If you want a better example of what the republic commando book series could’ve been just read Cestus deception. Much better with well fleshed out characters and better written people of color and a trooper that doesn’t come across as somebody who needs in therapy. Alpha 17, Fordo, Fives, Republic Commando squad (when not written by Traviss), Jangotat are much better examples of elite clone commandos that aren’t messed up.
