I think that's unfortunately down to the appearance of the artist, more than their work. While Ryan is an absolutely amazing artist, same as Laura of course, Ryan's physical appearance is more interesting, her grey hair and specific face and overall aesthetic are a big part of the hype for her. This doesn't lessen the value of either artist's work, it's just that the way media works, the person with a more interesting look and personal style usually gets more attention, especially in the social media realm. I am not very familiar with Laura's personal style, i only know her from the show (probably because of the lack of publicity and hype).

Of course she does. She just doesn’t have a super goth anime look, so she doesn’t get the attention for the right reason. Laura tattoos circles around her.

This is really so important, I had an artist doing my coverup go absolutely too hard all at once and I had to leave early, and I am pretty covered so wasn’t even me being a p*ssy. It’s make or break for an artist

yeah it lets her do all the tiny details and layering while keeping it super clean she won basically from how consistently clean her art was even if it wasn't always the best design

Some people do have this talent. It is not a tattooist but a nurse at the hospital I go for vaccines. One has such a gentle hand I only feel a pinch but the other one...man, it hurts as if a bee stung you!

The skin in the pictures of her freshly done tattoos doesn't look as red or swollen either. They look as if they are healed tattoos.

Yes, it will give you a darker value up to a point, and maybe will save you the time from using three different values with just one; but it also damages your paper more than it needs to, and there is less subtlety in it. Same with nurses/doctors. Some have the skill to insert a needle in a blown balloon without popping it, some don’t even though they could if they practiced enough.

@@2003img I honestly have no idea, she started tatting me when she was still an apprentice so I always paid less than newer clients and havent gotten anything new since she won ink master. My guess would be around $150-200/hr based on what I last paid. She also only takes on clients who's projects interest her now.

I am so jealous! I am literally saving like crazy to be able to fly across the country to see her and let her do whatever she wants. I saved enough to afford 12 hours worth of her hourly rate, just the flights now! I am so in love with her amazing artwork.

Well I mean the whole design aspect of tattoos can be made up with years of traditional/digital art which kinda boosts her skill but I agree that its pretty impressive

I mean he did have the better tat and proved it when the judges voted for his and her attitude towards his artwork was insulting, she made it seem like trash, but yeah he took it too personally afterwards

I see what you mean now when she casually she said it wasn't even going to look like the same drawing. Art is personal and at the end of the day we're all humans.

@@Its_stupid_cupid She said his drawing had a lot of inconsistencies and he was hurt by that. His dragon ended up beating hers because it was better. It was her ego that made that happen.

@@Spaxcore I kinda agree with that because it should have been longer BUT the challenge was to take the design and tattoo it. She didn't alter the design she just enlarged it so I think that was more the design than her. I wonder if she had if she would have gotten criticized for changing the original design.

Refreshing to see how little drama is in this season after watching Season 8

This is such a lie omg. I just finished the season. They were all cussing at each other and screaming and crying. A girl even went home on her own accord because the rest of the girls were demeaning her and one even shared her diagnosis of being bipolar to everyone in attempts to make her look crazy and unstable.

@@tiana1420 Totally agree. This is just a common occurrence in American reality game shows, I like to call it "manufactured drama," because the producers want tension and toxicity for views. The funny thing is I watch the show legitimately for the level of skill and the competition but production doesn't trust that alone, so they add in the dramatic music and feed the artists lines to instigate drama. Since the artists are already so stressed, emotions run high and then stuff like that girl getting outed happen.
