I really think if they kept the same item system and just focused on reworking gods and adding new item effects everything would be better. Feels like they are trying to do too much.
Smite has now entered the phase of giving the community too much say in the direction they go. You will all be miserable with what you’re not getting instead of enjoying what you have.

I think the problem with the retention factor of smite 2 is just how few gods they started with. And now they’re screwing themselves because even if they add 3 gods every time, after maybe 6 games it’s back to the same god pool. They should’ve released with 20-30 gods in the alpha, no matter how much it pushed it back
@@nicholausstevens1262 and smite 1 has over 125 gods. The returning player base isn’t used to 20. And that’s the main source of people playing, players returning hoping their main is out and if not they’re just gonna put it off

Isn't Smite 2 in closed-alpha? So isn't this kind of a moot point? Smite 1 had less gods in it's closed-alpha, probably less people playing that at the time as well.
2:45 na man, hi rez literally said they werent gonna nerf mage solo that much, something that was making the lane unfun and warriors useless for most of the community, because of the pro games coming up. They 100% have balanced the game around pro play
As far as good hunters for arondight i could see Apollo being okay with it idk if itd trigger as he lands or he starts it but even if good use required quick landing it could go crazy with a pre stacked passive for objective stealing plus kill or something like that. Amc could be pretty good especially if somebody is chasing you through hive coverage and you reverse hit them with a heavy ult then chase back into a team fight. Cern and xbal maybe could go pretty nuts. Aoe cc into high chase on a hunter sounds pretty scary. Comparable to Artemis on that though certainly not as effective as her ult. I can't think of any others but surely theres a couple others that could get high returns out of arondight. I feel like skadi might be the craziest pick for that though. Seen her built a lot of different ways but I've always been of the opinion highest possible phys power with whatever utility helps in the matchup just works for her cause kaldr almost doubles your damage with pure power and gets no benefit from any other stat. High power items makes kaldr hit like a second hunter if enemies don't insta focus him and unless they nerfed im pretty sure arondight has always been one of the highest power items for physical. I used to own in duel with just straight power it was stupid. Id go trans shifters devs then whatever utility made sense for the matchup and by late game i just win
I thought dko was really concept and i loved playing it tbh but for some reason it wasn't satisfying to grind up to what i wanted to be doing if that makes sense?? I feel like they should have implemented a light item system like we have in smite for a little bit more in game outplay (out planning people is one of the most satisfying things in smite to me) maybe they could have gone slightly mario kart with it? Every 30 seconds or a minute or some such item boxes spawn at spots along the map but you get 1 item per kill?? Like 1g to open a box regardless of who hits it? Would be rough to pick in the moment but if designated button combo was the thing it wouldn't be difficult to coordinate. Maybe like 40 items reitemized from smite when you hit an item box with currency you pick 1 of 3 randomized options?? Idk something along those lines sounds really satisfying for competitive action.
8:29 hi rez had a gem in smite but for some reason they just kept trying to make other games. Some of those were pretty cool but nothing mind blowing. I really think they shoulda just committed hard to making smite epic
I always loved paladins when my group played it, but then they applied the round the clock anti heal so all support characters just feel bad from the jump. Killed the game entirely for me, I uninstalled after one play session with that patch.
They need to introduce a csgo cosmetic system for smite 2. Instead of just doing skins, they need to break it down into armor pieces and weapon. Mix and match stuff

Smite 2 is DOA, people played it because it was free and ran on old hardware, same with league. Making it some cringe fest that rewards people on meth and fetuses with cat like reaction times is a terrible idea, it should reward intelligent decisions and planning, if they want that kind of gameplay they should go play call of duty or street fighter. Mobas are about strategy, if i'm smarter than the enemy and he has better reaction times, I should win every time. They need to add a roguelike mode to smite 1, they already did it with the adventures, it was amazing. If they added on to that and just made it a survival thing to see how many waves you could survive, they would attract new players. Having a PvE mode is a no brainer.
What are you on about?? Almost everything you said is contradictory. If Smite is dead, League should be too cause it also runs on old hardware. Games like CoD and Street Fighter DO require strategy, just a different kind than mobas. Reaction speed is *integral* to every moba; you saying you should always win against someone with better reactions is an honest-to-god skill issue. And then you say they should add a rogue-like mode, a genre famous for its RNG, limited level of strategy, and reliance on its player's reaction speed? At least think about your opinions for more than 3 seconds before vomiting them onto the internet.
Go play a pve mmo like everything else out there if you have 0 mechanics, dont fuck with the last few pvp mobas ya nerd because you're trash at the game
I'm aware this might be crazy but I would love to see hirez make all of the ultimates in smite 2 far more powerful. In the since that of a ult has a hard cc it should not be able to be countered by normal abilitys or items except for beads. You should have to trade ults to not get Aries pulled. This would make every God feel much more God like and ults would mean way more in winning a fight
