Yeah but in America piss isn’t a swear word but over here in england crap isn’t a swear word and they said crap quite a lot I remember watching it so a lot of American parents would have complained
I was always wondering as a kid why he said that while the captions said pissed. I was trying so hard to hear it, but it wasn't ever there cuz I watched it on Hulu as a kid. After hearing this now, this blows my mind.
There was one episode of Regular Show that frequently said "turd" in which the video kinda did miss out on (a very mild swear too but not used in a "crude" manner) Check out "Rigby's Body"
I can see pissed be a swear word, but crap is basically the same as saying heck instead of hell. I don’t really consider either being true swear words.
The use of mild swearing adds so much edge and relatability to this show, and I think it works wonders. More kids shows should use pg words to add emphasis or realism to some scenes, as this series shows that kids can handle mild profanity.
“kids can handle mild profanity” It’s also used in non-animated kids media like Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, Pixels, Shazam, and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.
@@wafflepenguin4440 I know, those are all (but BTTF) pg 13 movies, when every children can watch them. I am just saying those words should be de stigmatized and shouldn’t turn a film or show into pg 13 or tv 14
@@azumarill964 Although it’s not a kids movie, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty from 2013 is PG and recall there being one use of shit and dick respectively in that.
It's not just swearing. It's multiple scenes. Hell, the worst offender is the Russian park episode. The edits are so bad I'm about ready to shoot Max. The subscription service is a premium, why am I getting the crappier versions of the episodes?
When I saw that during the premiere I laughed SO HARD! The next time the played it couldn’t believe the changed it to, “how in the heck are we gonna fix this stuff?!” Booooo, it was funnier the first time! Stupid censors!
It depends on the family. Like, I don’t think those words are that bad either. But when I was a kid watching this my parents were absolutely STUNNED when they heard cartoon characters saying piss and crap. But my parents also believed shut up and hell were both swears.
When I first saw Regular Show as a kid, it absolutely BLEW MY MIND when I first heard them say "pissed" and "crap" like 'wow they said that in a cartoon'
This and Ren and Stimpy were the two shows that pushed the boundaries so many times that u wonder if they’re just adult shows disguised as kids shows. There would never be a kids show that’ll top what those two did
@@jwall2235 Regular Show was bad at times but the fan base realised that and they didn’t screw up, Adventure Time was bad but the audience just forgot it because they were acting like SU fans for some reason. And they didn’t rush the finale so yes I can agree why Regular Show is objectively better.
I still remember watching this for the first time and being amazed how they were able to say pissed. I even quickly looked over to my mom to see her reaction, which was pretty much nothing.
@@MrAveregeguy68back when the first episode aired, it had at least one h word and one s word. I remember cause my mom was pretty restrictive over what we watched when we were little and when she heard that, she disliked the show and told us not to watch it lol
@@exoticbomber137 yeee i remember me too , it was edgy but i dont think it was ever going to come out on adult swim , the creator pretty much has said it himself. Im pretty sure ut had to do with the president of the channel at the time wanting cartoons like that for the 12-14 year old audience , at the time they also aired MAD , i remember that being a lot more edgy than RS when it came out
@@exoticbomber137 also they didnt say the actual words i remember that episode , he said "what in the h are we gonna do about this s?" Im ngl i remember hearIng that tho and being like WOAH , i think the closest they were allowed was when they said crap and pissed and even then it was only used ONCE
@@MrAveregeguy68 this show was original Meade for adult swim lmao but they didn’t have screen time for it so it took over chowder airtime and boom that’s what we know today as regular show
I have a very distinct memory of Benson dropping an F-bomb in the Netflix version of one of the early episodes, and I've found a number of other people who claim the same. Have we been Mandella'd?
Literally nobody thinks it is bro 🙄, it only is in the sense that it can't be used in shows aimed primarily at kids hence why regular show had to drop it in season 2 beyond.
In the time this show was airing swear words were cracked down on way harder, especially in younger children who were watching this. Crap would get your ass sent to the principals office immediately.
@vampunz8610 Except, that isn't for Cartoon Network, it's in HBO Max. Although they did collaborate with CNS in the making of it. Also, while I have heard pretty big slurs in the show, I don't remember hearing the F word in it.
After telling me this show was originally gonna be on adult swim, I gotta say it makes a lot more sense now. The PG-13 vibes are strong with this show.
@@MarcusCollins69 Yeah but you wouldn't hear anyone say "oh my god" or "what the hell" in My little pony now would you? And also, every word in this video isn't a cuss either
I kinda wished that they kept the mild swearing in the show. I know Cartoon Network probably wouldn’t let them but idk it just sounds more natural in this show
The original title for this video would’ve been “Every Time Someone Said “Piss” Or “Crap” On Regular Show”. But that wouldn’t have been as good for the algorithm, So we chose this instead.
I actually remembered watching this on cartoon network when it first aired and when i heard the cussing on a kid channel, i was taken aback and immediately hooked on this show.
Nice reference at the end. Yea I remember that “Meat Your Makers” episode where originally when the episode first aired Mordecai said “You pissed me off” but they had to change it to “You ticked me off” later on
The swear and mild words were removed on MTV Kids. Example: Crap turned to Crud Pissed turned to Ticked, Niffed, and Molestic Turd turned to Plank H and S turned to Heck and Stuff Fricking turned to Flipping Lady Pecks removed Pepperoni's turned to Chest Airs Skinless Muscle Man removed 2 seconds was cut off when Pops' butt was most visible Moron turned to Idiot and Dummie
i love how it’s just pissed and crap which are mild swear words. like even my 8th grade history teacher uses the word “pissed” a LOT and my 6th grade math teacher said “crap” a lot
It kinda is. The creators wanted to do an adult cartoon show for Adult Swim, but Cartoon Network didn't want it, and suggested them to make a kids show. So they just disguised their adult show as a kids show.
I like the idea of regular show having just a tad bit more cuss words, but only when it really calls for it like if its a pretty emotional moment. They know what most of the people who watched it back then are grown up now so if they made some kind of spin off series they could make it more mature
Honestly all they would need to do is minor changes to voice recordings and I would happily watch the entire show all over again. I would love nothing more than to hear Benson drop an F-bomb in full fury.
I new they said “pissed” once, but I had no idea they’d actually said it so often. On Hulu it’s all censored. Even the last clip, which sucks cause I like the og version better
H and s which is Hell and shit right said only said 1st letter i those w cus words like this "how the hell are we going to fix this shit?" Rigby actually said hell and shit if u think the letters H and S means hell and shit
Yes there absolutely were u fking dmbass. Over the history of the English language words like crap and pissed have been established as words that are recommended to not be used in polite company
I remember them saying crap and pissed when I was a kid, now on Max instead of saying pissed they say ticked I didn’t even know they could change that?
For those saying "those aren't swears" as seen in deltarune, its best to see swear words as a tier list, crap and piss are just the bottom of the bottom tier. Ironically, Australia disagrees, and considered "piss" bad enough to make the game rated M, despite having bigger swears.
We’ve got the power of AI these days, someone who has the free time should totally take each episode and edit them to make them say the swear words they were originally intended to say. That’d be fun to watch
Yes it absolutely is. It's just not as bad as fuck or shit or cunt. There are different levels of severity when it comes to swear words and crap is like near the bottom
