Love how people meme about with "wow the stand user could be anyone" and here they put the stand user in many scenes way before its introduction and people had no clue about him
And also the fact that Morioh is just supposed to be a small town, so after some time you're gonna just see similiar faces. I think, once kira rans away from Cinderella, there are some characters standing there, like MIkitaka, for example.
Honestly having Kira in the background but also in plain sight is genius, really gives off that "homicidal maniac that look just like everybody else" feel.
It's funnier too when you consider that he's probably the most "Average Joe" looking character in the entirety of JJBA. In comparison to the likes of Koichi, Josuke, Okuyasu and Jotaro with their very pronounced, funky outfits, hairstyles, body builds, etc, Kira really does look like such a bland and nothing individual.
I heard that fact!! Seriously the best call they could have made. I remember reading an interview with Araki (I forget what year) when part 4 was still being written and he said “I still have no idea who the villain is” 💀
@@Genoscyborg12and there was a video here that said that once he did found it, he would have wanted to foreshadow him. He was able to remedy it with the anime.
I hope they do something similar with Part 8's villain when that finally gets animated. I love the part but the antagonist lacks a lot of foreshadowing and is pretty underwhelming imo, so anime fixes could help that.
The great thing about doing something like an anime adaptation is the chance to do a story over from the beginning with full knowledge of where it's going. This is a great example of this advantage.
And yet, he still actually follows that sarcastic rule, because like all the other stand users, he has one specific design choice that makes him stand out in a sea of nobodies, but said design choice is pretty low-key and not always visible: His Killer Queen branded tie. That is literally the only tell that he's a threat, and when he initially appears in that first scene in the video, you can see he's specifically facing AWAY from the camera, his back completely turned and obscuring his iconic tie.
@@flageditz263idk when I showed my cousin Jojo they didn’t notice him as any significant character in the background. Plus part 4 has a lot of crazy color schemes so it’s hard to take any of that into consideration
I mean yea there’s nothing wrong with someone’s goal in life being to live peacefully, in fact that’s probably the goal of a large majority of people. The issue is that Kira’s definition of a peaceful life including the murder of innocent women which many people see as unethical
Actually he does, well In a different alternate timeline of JoJo universe where he is an sculpture artist where he makes hands out of clay, I don’t think he was weird about it, it’s been awhile since I read it.
@@budgetcommander4849nah, more people need to address the stigma of child murderers being “unethical”. This bias makes things so difficult for people like us!
If Kira was just a man with a strange fetish who know that is not just easy and respect the personal space from a woman it will be okay, but he prefer the easiest way... For him
Both Araki and the animation group did an amazing job at putting him in the background with other background characters, it shows that a killer could literally be anyone
diavolos is also really cool, you don‘t see much of him but you can kinda feel his „presence“ as there is often talked about this mafia boss that we don‘t get to see
@@f1shynoob890At the very beginning of the anime, we see someone making scrambled eggs while listening to Morioh Radio for the first time. After the meal is finished, a severed hand is revealed. Not only that, but later Kira cooks the same meal in his first scene as Kosaku Kawajiri.
Kira... Was the one to kill Reimi. It is confirmed. She was his first victim. Even creepier with the fact that he was under her bed, wimpering at her hand. If you were saying that the one in the OP wasnt clearly Kira, his eye was Killer Queen's eye
Yes! I wanted to include everything up until his official introduction. The only reason I said it was heavily implied is that technically, we do not see him here. Thanks for the input!
Yeah it's based on the horror myth man pretending to be her dog by licking her then leaving an ominous message saying "humans can lick too" once she finds her dead dog
Nice! I think you should also add the one scene immediately after Kira changes his identity to Kosaku, where you can see him in the crowd of people (white suit, black spiky hair, carrying bag)
Kira really could have had that quiet life, there were women that were into him, if we really picky about the hand thing he’s not that bad looking, I’m sure he could have gotten a girl with pretty hands. Kira just wants to be a killer or something
I think that’s the best part about his character. I think He believes he is truly not doing anything wrong. He is evil, unfeeling, and believes he deserves everything is wants. Araki went totally nuts writing him
One of the show's BEST villains. He doesn't want to enslave humanity, rule the world, control all of Italy while remaining anonymous, or bring about some twisted idea of Heaven. He wants to just live his life like anyone else and engage in some... handy hobbies.
Exactly The other JoJo villains like DIO, Kars and thr Pillarmen, Diavolo and even Pucci had their own henchmen indicating they could be reasoned with if you really, wholeheartedly support their motive. Kira is the only one villain who did not have his own henchmen. His father only used the arrow to create more users to distract the main group from finding Kira and might potentially killing them in the process. Kira is a guy having no henchmen. His purpose couldn't be reasoned by anyone. In my opinion the most evil JoJo villain, with Funny Valentine as the close second.
I believe it's also about his personality and the control aspect. He hates talking to people, or even just being around people, which is why he doesn't get a wife with nice hands. Instead he uses his strength and later on his stand to kill women, and have total control over them. Remove their individuality and make them simply an object he can dispose of and do whatever he pleases with it. Notice how he never fell in love with the Mona Lisa, but instead was fixated on just her hands. Even cutting them off her so he can continue to look at them without the hassle of having the whole image, it mirrors what he would go on to do with real women.
Don’t worry about it! These came from myself and several other things friends and mutuals noticed. DP was great with foreshadowing and it was easy to miss!!
Part 4 is my favorite. Araki figured out how to raise the stakes after a globetrotting monster hunt by scaling the scope way down to this personal, intimate murder mystery involving regular every day people.
Dude has the best theme & arc amongst all of the Main Antagonists in JJBA so far imo. He was just written with so much thought. Glad they decided to build him up instead of just introduce him as the main villian straight from the beginning
I mean... In the anime they made his co-workers in Kameyu wear green suits. Those vests look quiet unusual but cant compare to Kira's suits: they're too eye-catching.
I think Kira had the best villain theme in JoJo. It starts off with something fitting a mystery, then as it continues it puts you on guard, and then BAM! you see him blow up the one guy, then the track lets it all just sit in
There's actually one more When Josuke impales that thief and there's a lot of people around, more or so close to the end of the episode, okuyasu, his brother, Kira and Rohan are in there, it's really cool cuz none of them had been introduced yet hey we're always there XD
Fun fact, in the very first episode, when Josuke first meets Angelo, you can see the silhouettes of all of the first few antagonists in the crowd of people watching.
Kira and Dio are both scary for me For Dio, he is open to everyone, we know him. But at the same time, we all know Kira, but we don't know where he is. We only know Kira is the killer, but we can't find him. It is very scary.
My name is Yoshikage Kira. I’m 33 years old. My house is in the northeast section of Morioh, where all the villas are, and I am not married. I work as an employee for the Kame Yu department stores, and I get home every day by 8 PM at the latest. I don’t smoke, but I occasionally drink. I’m in bed by 11 PM, and make sure I get eight hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. I was told there were no issues at my last check-up. I’m trying to explain that I’m a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. I take care not to trouble myself with any enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause me to lose sleep at night. That is how I deal with society, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to fight I wouldn’t lose to anyone.
Kira is slowly introduced trought out the whole first part, hidden in plain sight like this scenes and the radio tgat talk about disappearing cases, most of the audience wouldn't have noticed this the first time but on a second watch it all makes sense
I think it was to symbolize the looming sense of wrongness in the town despite its cheery disguise. That’s why the sky turns pink at the end of the part, symbolizing the release from evil that the town was once controlled by, while still staying bizarre with its colorful people and stand users.
I will say it's quite impressive the dexterity with which he manipulates the hands. The hand holding the bag I'd expect at that angle it'd just flop down all the fingers and fall, or the cloth would just fall out of the hand and it wouldn't pick it up well when he's dabbing his car.
1:40 i am sure he would kill those 3 immediatly or destroy the hand if koichi got run over. Because he don't want to deal with police (peaceful life) but koichi is not run over and he just gave angry looks to them. Irl, driver usually mad and yell if this happen. Also, morioh such quiet city, police or people not dense. Perfect for kira.
What I like most about Kira is the logic behind his ambition. His monologue insinuates the difference between peace and normality and how a boring life doesn’t accumulate to peace of mind. Much like people in IRL, he wants to live life full of excitement but free of consequences and (spoilers) achieving his goal of living a peaceful life became his downfall as while he’ll be remembered in Moriah as nothing but an ordinary man, he’ll spend eternity living an un- peaceful afterlife.
I actually really love how Kira is only introduced far later into the part than other main villains. It makes it feel like they’re actually trying to figure stuff out and know basically nothing. And how it’s a small town and everyone knows each other and see each other every now and then by chance. As someone who lives in a small town I can confirm you actually run into people you know pretty often at places like stores and just walking around.
I came looking for this video because I was rewatching jojo and on the episode “Chilli Pepper” I also noticed at 12:37 Kira was in the background glad I wasn’t the only one who noticed
Both kira and rohan can actually be seen in episode 2 during the robbery at the convenience store where aqua necklace possessed the guy. They are seen in the crowd. Rohan is pretty hard to spot as he is only a silhouette Edit: i might be wrong about kira after re watching the scene but rohan is definitely there
i really do like kira, hes a lot more simpler than super ultra mega death christ or vampire who wants to become god and be on the top of the world but also complex in his own way, him and his whole goose chase fit part4 so well
2:49 The way her hand just limps and succumbs to the laws of gravity(if you believe in it) tells me that he had [Killer Queen] hold the hand up to make it look like it wasn’t a disembodied hand. And then he just stopped doing that and the hand just dropped after his monologue ended.
Dude 😭 I appreciate this so much, I’m doin alright. I Dont know why this video is getting so much attention now, but I’m not complaining. How are you doing?
@@Genoscyborg12 I’m doing great as well!!!! It’s good to see that your video getting more attention, congrats for that!!!!!! I hope you have a nice rest of your day brother!!!!!!
this change from the manga was a great one, I remember watching a video talk about how araki didn’t like that he didn’t put kira in plain sight (mainly because he didn’t know who was gonna be the main villain for part 4) I just really like how it could’ve been anyone.
Kira can’t be hidden in plain sight before he is introduced to people who already read the Part 4 manga before the Part 4 anime came out. If this was in the manga, it would be infinitely crazier.
They do this with a lot of other characters in the show, you actually see Keicho, Okyuasu, Yukako and some others when Josuke stops the robbery early into the shown
That part in the car... I thought she was like a really silent lady .. Seeing it again with context, I was like, "Shes not alive, its just an arm" . Turns out she was A FULL ON SILENT LADY cause SHE LITERALLY JUST DIED WHEN HE GOES TO HELP HER OUT OF THE CAR!
The OP is my personally favorite of his appearances The viewer knows what they're getting into with all the Stand users we get to see in the first few episodes lining up, and he still manages to slip by
