It's important to note that Angel's didn't start to appear as white smoke until after the fall when their wings were burned off and their powers crippled. Even after that, every angel that still possessed intact wings such as the archangels manifested exclusively as the beam of white light and never as the smoke. The only exception to this was when Jack pulled Michael from Rowena's body and nuked him but even then Michael was injured and weakened first by Jack. It's highly likely that the white smoke we the angel's take on later isn't actually a new form but rathers what their forms look like when drained of the majority of their power.
@@wivithar that was probably like what Jack did to alt Michael and he was forcfully pulled out of the body instead or leaving like he did with Cass in season 11
I imagine a Demon's smoke form is invisible to normal humans, and the moments we usually see it are for viewer benefit. The times we don't actually see it happen seem like they're meant to show us the "Human view". It would make sense seeing as Azazel possessed a reaper, with their true form being astral based (also explaining why humans can't see it).
Fairly sure the akrida should've been included, but even I forgot about them until you started describing *another* bug type monster that possesses people😅 (And I suppose they are not from "supernatural" if you want to go down that route😂)
I don't know if it exactly counts, but there was that one episode where the teenagers found a spellbook and one of them swapped bodies with Sam, and yes, they did SWAP bodies, instead of the spellcaster simply taking over, but apparently that wasn't supposed to happen, the kids friends were suprised that Sam was in the kids body. Regardless, I think it's an honorable mention at least
Yes, I absolutely plan to make a video about that! Not sure when I’ll get to it, I have several others in the works at the moment, but it’s definitely on my list.
I actually think Disaster Demons(They are literally called that) are a sub species of Demons that use that unique possession therefore meaning it is both canon and possible since they have a unique form of possession
Its kinda cleared that he was able to possess a Reaper only because of the deal due to "red tape". Without the power of a deal, Reaper possession i don't think is possible.
pretty sure when the woman touched iron and bobby popped out it was because bobby either did not resist at all or didn't know how to leave and that was the only way he could think of.
i think the black goo (all the types) is simply because its gross to most people and probably SUPER cheap, probably even cheaper if they buy one color dye/ink/whatever in bulk hence why its usually black.
That is peobably the real reason. I always took it as a thing from Eve since she is refered to be the mother of the monsters. So it is basically a trait from her originally that she just passes by to the monsters she created. I guess it doesn't fit to all scenarion but it is the best in universe reason i could think of
I've been possessed once before and the demon said what the hell is wrong with you I been to hell and dam. I just told him it's your meat suit so your problem now. He go a priest to exercise himself. Best vacation I ever had and best chiropractic session I ever had
I never viewed Castiels body as dead. When God rebuilt Cas he rebuilt him in that form. That body was no longer separate from him. Sort of like how Jesus and God are not separate.
biblically demons ARE angels just fallen ones, so the next time a shadow tells you it's an angel just recall it's not lying no matter if tis from hell or heaven.
depending on how early/far back you want to go into scriptures determines what Demons/Daemons are. In one set Daemons are the creations of Lucifer, In other Scriptures they are the creations of man, In others all of them are fallen Angels. But in every case most of the Demons were/are Gods from other religions outside of Judaism and Christianity. And that's just the scriptures we know of as there's suspected to be a whole library of Scriptures under Temple Mount in Jerusalem going back roughly 6 thousand years pre-dating all of the ones we have, most of which are Translations from Ancient Greek to an earlier version of Hebrew (basically all of the Old Testament). The main problem of getting to them being that after the Persian, Roman, European and Ottoman invasions/Occupations of Samaria and Judea no one is allowed on the Mount except for Muslims.
Well salt doesn't just force a ghost out of a body if u putt it into their mouth. Ghost have a weakness to salt so probably any biggee contact to it can force a ghost out of a body, as we see dean and sam use shotgun ammunition made out of or filled with salt (The episode with the ghost bound to the costumes, that is mentioned in the video, is one example). I guess you could also just throw a package of salt at someone who is posessed and it would do the trick lol
In later seasons post-angel-fall it shows that reapers do possess hosts and not just make their own bodies.... Also on just a basic level reapers r technically angels and they say many times that ALL angels no matter what have to have a willing vessel.
Still a bit salty about the leviathan "possessions". Demons and ghosts possessing humans? Works great. Angels? That was a bit of a stretch tbh. Not a typical take. But then again, if we look at many descriptions of angels in the literature, they are more like many eyed monsters from Lovecraft... so it may be fine. But Leviathans? They are supposed to be the most gigantic monsters god has created. And they are just another "we possess human" type of monster... Quite disappointing. Just as much as the "the phoenix has human form" or "the dragon has human form". Come on. If you do not want to spend the budget for giant monster cgi or props. Do not include them in your story...
I honestly like how inconsistent ghosts' abilities were in the show, it shows how they're still people (to an extent) all with different mindsets and reasons behind why they do whatever they do. Everybody's different, so I like that every major ghost we see has some kind of oddity about them.
The first demonic posession we saw was weird because the demon was a different type of a demon, even its true form was different. The reason angels can manifest as a beam and a white blue smoke is because when they lose their wings they cant teleport and forced to be white smokes since they cant move fast. Reapers can manifest their own humanoid form and they can also possess people. When azazel possesed tessa, there wasnt a human in that case, he just possesed reaper.
Your point about angels isn’t true because Lucifer who never lost his wings also manifested as blue smoke when he was exorcised from the president back into his old vessel
@@obamaorb7426 I think that was because he couldn’t use his wings, since you know you he was being trapped by a spell. Thats why we saw his smoke form. Same happened to alternate michael when jack ate him.
Reapers do have vessels, even Tessa shows this later in the series when Castiel has his "Angel Army" going against Metatron. The reason no one sees her except Dean in the hospital is because reapers have the power to change the reality around them to whatever they want others to see. (Tessa explains this to Dean once he figures out what she is and not just another dying person.
When God put the body back together he also made it alive. It was explained early on that a human body can live just fine without a soul so really he was in a living body without a soul and occupied it as the main soul would with the benefits of being a possessing angel enhanced because it was officially his body once resurrected.
I remember the season when Gadreel was living in Sam's body and Dean was trying to find a way to get the angel out of his body. And I thought, "Oh, are they going to find that Alastair spell?" No, it seems the writers completely forgot about angelic exorcism. By the way, it seems that the version with “a person can kick out an angel at any time” does not work. Jimmy didn't like being a vessel, but he couldn't kick Cas out. Hannah's female vessel wanted to return home to her husband, Hannah felt this, but she released her vessel voluntarily, and not because the woman ordered her to leave. The angels in this show are really assholes.
Wat would happen if a angel get a human pregnant and a demon possess her while she still is pregnant? Could the demon corrupt the human side of the unborn baby?
my theory for demons taking over bodies without any visual aspect is them doing it directly from hell. kind of like how they can go from hell directly to whatever they want. they could possess someone directly from hell.
Also once Castiel allows Lucifer to possess him when getting ready to fight the Darkness/Amara and the boys r trying to get Lucifer out Crowley possess Castiel as well so theres 3 in that body as well Cas, Lucifer and Crowley... Would be the only time 4 are in one body but Jimmy was already dead and Castiel had be rebuilt by God.
@@Archiver_StudioNot the ability to consume souls at will, but the possession either destroys the soul or the leviathan consumes them due to their unending hunger. Probably not, the only example of someone surviving possession is Cass, well he technically died.
@@DefaultName-du3kr He died but his spirit was never eaten, this proves they cannot consume spirits, consumption of ghosts requires much greater use than just possession The body most likely just dies and the ghost is cast out into their afterlife prematurely
I still think it's a highly overrated module but it doesn't deserve the level of condemnation the subject author gave it. As a trainer it's ok, but it doesn't make that intent very clear so that defense of it's shortcomings don't hold up with me. But it cannot be compared to any modern adventures because it was very specific to BECME/1e. Pro tip: Use the Temple of Chaos ( I think it was called ) as a detachment/ recruiting group for one of the Elemental groups in the Temple of Elemental Evil. I think I used earth and changed the cult in Temple of the Reptile God to the Water Temple. By then my players were ready to take out the trouble at it source, so they followed the clues I spoon fed them in those two modules to the ToEE. Where they died.
