I mean, Diamant's ring is actually a medal that his father gave him, melted down & recast, that's quite special. It's a Brodian tradition for gifts to change form when being given to someone else, so it adds a litte lore to Brodia as well. I just hate that dumb "mutual support" blurb. Couldn't it say "eternal love" or something instead?

@Señora de Mendoza I saw them, haha. The flattery one really gets me. It also helps that his VA is perfect for this character. Diamant feels like a fusion of Ike and Chrom, which is the type of fire emblem character that I tend to like a lot. I just wish he was the protagonist instead of Alear. That's just my feelings on the matter anyway because I think they are kind of boring and bland compared to him.

Unless it was like Awakening where Chrom was the MC & you were the supporting character. But anyway, I love Diamant, he's handsome, strong, brave, kind & smart. What more could a woman ask for?

YOU WILL NOT USE GENDERED LANGUAGE IN VIDEO GAMES. LOUIS DOES NOT LIKE TO WATCH WOMEN. HE LIKES TO WATCH PEOPLE. CHARACTERS WHO ARE GOOD WILL NOT HAVE ANY TRAITS WHICH SPEAKS AGAINST THE MESSAGE WE WANT TO PUSH. YOU CANNOT HAVE A WIFE OR HUSBAND IN FIRE EMBLEM. GOLDMARY IS NOT TRYING TO APPEAL TO MEN, SHE ONLY WANTS TO BE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL FOR PERSONAL REASONS. WOMEN CANNOT BE INTERESTED IN LOOKING GOOD FOR MEN. It is so bad because a lot of the skills and dialogue contrast the other translations in the story. Fairy Tale Folk and Admiration both are gendered for a reason. Louis watching women gives a very different implication than him just people watching which feels a lot less creepy. The reason he watches women is because he grew up in a house of boys and feels very paternal, he is interested in women and likes to take care of them because he was never around women as a kid. Chloe is specifically interested in the handsome prince and beautiful princess archetype. Yet the supports pretend that they are simply interested in couples instead. The worst part is that this IGNORES the FEMINIST implications that Chloe herself is the brave knight and it downplay's Louis' paternal nature, which is extremely important to his character. It is character assassination to the highest degree, especially when they are balanced by having really good lines that show their good nature. I find it hilarious and frustrating how people are so eager to push their agendas that they make a 180 and kill the themes they would have liked to see. It's just so awful. On top the translators looking like incompetent and awful people, they obviously have no media literacy. I get and agree that you cannot have romantic implications for characters like Anna, Framme, Clanne, Jean etc, it's gross. But whoever was translating the game obviously had a massive agenda and following that agenda watered down so many of the characters.

@@jonahkluger6136 yeah it's honestly really disturbing how much they changed the themes in Engage just to push certain agendas that honestly undermine or ruin the themes already in play. I get censoring a book/movie/video game regionally since some content is confusing or unwelcome in other parts of the world. But the censorship shouldn't butcher the original media and its themes.

I think 3D Fire Emblem was a breaking point between IS and Nintendo. 3H was a bit outlandish in particular, with the whole "you can even marry yourself" thing.
