Thank you for this video. It was very informative and helped relieve my anxiety of taking my husband who is now restricted to a wheelchair. Now I know we can still have a fun trip and he can still ride some of our favorite rides. 😊

Thanks for making this video, especially showing the loading process for each ride. It’d be awesome if they made Spaceship Earth accessible.

Agreed! I’m guessing that would be hard because of the steep decline, but if anyone could figure it out it’s the Disney Imagineers. They do have a transfer vehicle that makes transferring a lot easier. We’ll show those in an upcoming video. - Brooke

I just linked to this video in my latest vlog! I use a mobility scooter, so sometimes I transfer with assistance instead of using the accessible vehicles so it was great to show them through the link since this video was so helpful!

Thanks this was really helpful I’m recently disabled and heading to Disney soon with no idea how I can be catered for I’ve already made a mess of my reservations by booking accessible tub rooms instead of roll in shower
@Imaginary.Lemons
@Imaginary.Lemons Год назад
How soon are you going? Have you called Disney or your travel agent to see if you can switch to a room with a roll-in shower? If you can’t switch, but they were to give you a wide tub seat, do you think you’d be able to transfer to that? You would still need to clear the width of the tub to get to it. I can send you a pic of what they gave Aadam on our last trip if you want to shoot me an email. Brooke@vacationwiththemagic.com. We haven’t posted that review yet but I can send you the pics.

I’m going in April I phoned member services but they said there aren’t any roll in rooms available but they could provide a shower chair I’m not really sure if I will manage but I don’t have much choice and I figured if I’m really struggling I can use the disabled showers at the main pool it’s a bit disappointing as I realised I might have a problem in October and had phoned to have my reservation modified but this hasn’t happened it’ll be another challenge but I so want Disney back in my life xx

Call guest services the day before your trip and try to get transferred to the hotel manager. Explain your situation and ask them to please be on the look out for any last minute cancelations of roll-in shower rooms. It’s not a guarantee but it worked for us once.

Thanks so much for the advice my sister and niece go out a couple of days before me I can even get them to ask on site. I really appreciate your time and advice this is all so new and pretty daunting xx

This is immensely helpful. We are heading to Disney in 2025 with my husband, who is a wheelchair user. Do you have any specs on the size of your wheelchair and if you had any trouble fitting into the rides? My husband's chair is 27" wide and (including his feet) about 42" long. I'm worried that he will be too long to fit into some of these.
@Imaginary.Lemons

Aadam’s chair has a smaller than average footprint but most rides had extra room. If it truly won’t fit, they will have manual chairs, but that does require a transfer to the new chair. They often have a box on the floor and as long as your chair fits, you can stay in it. Email me at Brooke@ImaginaryLemons.com and I’ll see if I can find a pic with Aadam in the box so you can estimate how much extra space there might be.

His chair looks fairly compact, how would a standard 4 wheel ECV fit into The Honey Pot or Clamshell? If the ECV will not fit, what is the accommodation? Asking for my mother who transfers ok, but walking is not an option.
@Imaginary.Lemons

They will allow manual and power wheelchairs on the rides featured in the video, but not ECVs. The only ride that accommodates an ECV is Jungle Cruise in Magic Kingdom. There are manual wheelchairs available at the ride and you can transfer into one of those to ride in the accessible vehicle. At Winnie the Pooh, ECVs are not allowed in the line, so you would have to transfer outside. You can use the ECV in the line for Nemo.
