You have helped me a lot with my windows experience, from a linux-only user trying to understand windows to expand my carreer in system admin you have been a miracle, thanks a lot!
Ah that's great to hear! Usually people commenting here just want everyone to move to Linux, I'm surprised you're dabbling in Windows seeing as you're a Linux only user.
@@memstechtips There's so much world in operating systems, you can't just rely on Linux. Windows, if we ignore (thus we can't) the flaws in their system, the bloatware apps, telemetry and such, is a really good OS for the regular user, if you are in enterprise enviroments, Microsoft has a good share of the market with things like NTLMv2 and Active Directory. So yeah, keep working on Windows content aswell, you help a lot of people to know better the OS!
@@memstechtips Im the same! I am a linux power user but also want to really get a handle on windows, as I use both side by side (it is an awesome workflow) as both OS account for the weakness of the other
Hang tight, if all goes well I'll be finished within the next week or so. I've been working on the update for the past 2 weeks, this video was recorded more than a month ago already.
Hello there my IT friend. How are you doing. I am glad that you got your video that was removed, restored. This video is also a big help for me cause I love how easily I can update my windows apps without having to check each one to see whether there is a update or not. Saving so much time with this update manager. You are awesome man. Baaie Dankie Meneer !!!!!! LOL Have a great day. All the best when you get a 100 000 subscribers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes meneer! Glad you liked the video and find UniGetUI useful! I'm also really glad that I got the Windows 11 24H2 video reinstated, should never have been removed in the first place, but it is what it is... Hoping to get to that 100k subs mark, 50k was already a dream come true!
Bucking Frilliant matey! I'm gonna give this one a crack for sure.!! One Q, if I create a bundle on win10 64bit, can I use that bundle to reinstall the bundle on win11 ? I have been using Patch my PC to install most apps I use. If I use revo uninstaller to install apps, that will, at least I hope it will, if I don't like the program it will remove everything, registry, all folders, complete removal. If I try a program I usually use windows sandbox to try it on. Everyone should learn to use that I reckon. If you want to surf to suspicious websites use the sandbox, once you shut it down, all traces are gone.
Thanks man! To be honest I haven't tested it yet but theoretically it should work because both are 64bit, I don't think there will be any issues. Revo Uninstaller is the best for removing everything from the system yeah. Windows Sanbox sounds interesting, I haven't played around with it myself yet.
This is amazing! My question with this as with Ninite is, what boxes are ticked for optional features when installing programs. E.g. will it install bloat software suggested by the installer (take CCLEANER or NCH Software) or will it only install the bare minimum? Or is this not even a thing using Winget and other repositories?
I'm glad you like it! This app doesn't install any bloatware on your system whatsoever, there are no optional features or whatever. It's just an interface to make installing apps via Winget and Chocolatey etc. easier for people who don't like using the command line interface.
This app offers a great functionality which is installing apps/updates asynchronously, which basically means the download process for all of them starts at the same time. To the best of my knowledge this is not implemented in winget and there are open issues about it.
But why doess it get so much wrong? For one program it says you have version 12.0.0 and you need 12.0.0.356 ! But you already have 12.0.0.356. Sometimes Chrome and Edge updates continually fail!
This is more a fault of the software distributor itself than from UniGetUI. Updates in Winget compare the program version in the program checklog to say whether a program is updated or not, and there are times when a software distributor updates it, but forgets to update it in the program's update version log. This is something that honestly doesn't have much of a solution, as it depends on the diligence of whoever updates the program. In these cases, it is useful to use the ignore version feature for when this occurs and wait the next version.
Hi Running Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC I have manually installed the Microsoft store. Can I completely remove the store making it more stock and replace it with Uniget and my updates will come through Uniget with no issues or do I need to keep the Microsoft store for things to work properly?
I think you can uninstall the Microsoft Store and just use UniGetUI, it's not dependent on the Microsoft Store, it uses Winget, which is a command line utility.
Can you link me to where I can change my mouse cursor to what you use? I didn't realize I wantsdd it on Windows until I connected a keyboard to my Android. It's so clean.
It should be fine. It does this because this application can install others... Aka the ones you select, including services. If you had a malware in an application and used this application to install it, it'd technically be the fault of this application... so Windows always warns about apps that can install applications for you that ISNT Windows
Hey sorry for this unrelated comment but I do want to upgrade to 24h2, can I still just use your autounattend files for it? Please just lmk if I should still wait a bit or try it out!! Even a headsup would be sweet
yes u can use it on a host pc, but i highly recommend you go with iot-ltsc, because that one still includes many functionalities that a user will need + imo its the best performant one.
Yo man, you'll be able to do a clean install of Windows 11 24H2 with the new file but you won't be able to upgrade. I'm actively working on the new file an testing stuff I added, it's just taking longer as expected because I ran into some issues. If all goes well, next week sometime I'll release it.
The program itself is not a virus but it is true that you can install a "virus" through it because it is just a graphical user interface for package managers like Winget, Scoop, Chocolatey etc. So if someone uploads a malicious file to those package managers, it will show up in the search results of UnigetUI, but that's not the apps fault.
So download software that installs a confusing unnecessary UI to search for programs. Then install that from chocolaty or winget. As opposed to just using the simple command line winget and not having more useless bloatware? And may or may not work on windows versions older than 7? So the video and software are equally a wast of time and resources. And you had to inform those using 20 plus year old operating systems they can try it. If thy haven’t updated to at least 10, they don’t update anything at all as is. But kudos on providing a trifecta of useless information all around. And to those considering this wast of space. Please look up how to use the command line with either winget or chocolaty. You’ll see how much simpler it actually is compared to this convoluted advertising bloat. If then you decide to try it. At least you did so with proper knowledge and not a sales pitch.
@@memstechtipsjust to let you know your videos are amazing and easy to understand. I have a question, my device still hasn't had 24h2 yet, should I use your unattended winstall for 23h2 or wait for 24h2?
