You can use PowerToys Fancy Zones for this. When configuring the "Space around zones" you can set it to -1px or more. Try with arrow keys if the slider doesn't work for negatives.
Having a 49" monitor the task bar all the way across the bottom is such a pain in windows 11. I miss being able to drag it to the left side so it doesn't waste so much of my screen. Being able to shrink its size will be helpful.
use startisback you can use it to put windows start to left side as well as putting it back to old style, like it was in win 8, there are more possibilities you can check, i am using windows x lite 10, its slimmed windows, they also have windows 11, there you have preinstalled startisback app. Personally i chose win 10 because it has better performance compared to win 11. Having around 60 processes after bootup, with around 2gigs of ram used. there is no bloatware, but still ez to install windows store if you use something from microsoft. Best optimized windows that i personally was in touch with is from xlite. If you are looking only for customizable start just download startisback or startallback depends on if you use win 10 or 11
It's ridiculous that you have to download mods to get this kind of customisation. Plenty of these options should be in windows 11 by default. Microsoft has just developed so much contempt for its customers over the years, preferring to take more options away than useful new features added.
You don't if you use the settings you can do all this and even more if you know how to use PowerShell. Its because people don't want to learn new things and don't like change.
Can't wait for the rest of the video's associated with win 11 modifications. Installing it on a usb coupled with the unattended Winstall core XML file. After a month of use and modifying to get as close to win 10 as you can and remove/negate the thing that just suck, how do you like it so far vs win 10?
Awesome, glad you like the series so far! Yeah I have to say so far Windows 11 is usable for me. I don't have it "perfected" yet and I think with the release of 24H2 there might some other issues we'll need to address as well, but I can see myself using Windows 11 full time. I've been using it for like 2 or 3 months now but with the program I'll be showing in the next video, so keep an eye out for that.
@@memstechtipsoh glad to here that. then I'm confident I'll be able too as well you're reluctance to traditionally to win 11 is pretty much the same reason I've been
overall WIndhawk, in its current state, is a very lackluster tool, but that has more to do with the mods currently available rather than the app itself...
This is a wonderful program! I can't stand the Recommendations section of the start menu. It takes up too much space, preventing more apps from being pinned. I've been waiting for Microsoft to change this in an update, but it hasn't happened yet. And the taskbar was too high! This is a great customization program that took care of both annoyances! It was simple to install and easy to use. Thank you so much!!
Awesome & Beautiful Video Sir! Is there one 4 windows 10? Thank you and keep teaching us great computer stuff. Cheers From Sunny Warm Puerto Rico Island
Brilliant because theres so much that I despise about Win 11, BUT I see a problem here, because if you install this on to your PC and then make lots of changes, and then some way down the road you have to take your PC into a repair shop, it may be wont have a clue as to why your PC is behaving the way it is, and may spend hours of charegable time to you trying to fix a problem, but figure out whats going on as they apply a fix!!
You have a valid point, but to that I say, just create a restore point before you apply these customizations. You will always be able to take the computer back to the way it was before the tweaks in that case.
@@memstechtips thanks for replying, that simple step hadnt occurred to me and I`ll do that. I`ve never had much confidence in restore points in the past as more often than not you select a restore point, it seems to be doing it and then at the end it says `computer says No`! LOL
i hope we will get translucent on file explorer as well soon in the future their is one that makes it (i.e. Explorer Blur Mica) but i was hoping it in windhawk
Great tutorial man, got a question for the unattend windows 11, how do I get to install the Creative Cloud because it doesn't seems to run properly, could use some help, thanks!
How safe is Windhawk? With so many mods out there, each made by different people, it's hard to keep track of them all, so it seems pretty easy for someone to slip in some malware. What do you think?
I have to disagree i thought the metro looked way better. The transparent one could be awesome but it needs some work an needs to be available in all the styles.
Hallo, Do disk partitioning with USB WinPE, run “install.wim” apply-image and C:\WORK\work.ps1.... When the wpinit cmd window opens it will automatically run createpartition.txt. I need code to open a PowerrShell window and run the script C:\Work\work.ps1. Or which path should I follow? What changes do I need to make to stratnet.cmd or winpesl.ini in boot.wim file in Windows\System32. Can you please help me?
Very true. The code is all open source and hosted on GitHub, but you still need to have people look at it who know what they're looking at. So far, Windhawk has been trusted by a lot of people in the community, so I hope it stays safe.
I've been using Linux for 1 and 2/3 months. Windows is WAAAAAAAAAAAYY too insecure for me. All of my accounts were hacked on July 16th, and then it was a constant rush to get everything back.
Sorry, but this is a terrible introduction to Windhawk. You clearly do not at all understand what it does and how it works as seen at 13:25. No... Windhawk is a toolset and toolchain providing a C++ compiler and libraries. It allows to ad-hoc compile and inject the compiled code. That is what mods are. There is no verification by anybody that the code is not malware. The "verified" (at 2:29) is about the GitHub user. This means Windhawk is much more powerful, potentially then anything before. But it also means its potentially more dangerous. The onus is on you to protect yourself. Resource usage depends on the mods used. For Windhawk itself, is pretty low. Because it doesn't have to do much at all, post compiling. It has to run to host the mods, they do the work. Whatever that may be. 13:30 no... its not a bunch of Registry entries and stuff. It is code, compiled on your system and then injected into the target process. And BTW in Explore there is a button top-right (two opposing arrows), that's for selecting the sorting method.
If you are playing this is a terrible idea. Random performance drops or crashes are not worth the hassle, especially if you play online or in hard games when crash can delete good 3h of gameplay
Why have Windows 11 to make it Windows XP' 7 '10 when you can do better. You don't need 3rd party apps if you use the settings you can do all this and even more if you know how to use PowerShell. Its because people don't want to learn new things and don't like change. Windows 11 is fully customizable without this stuff. If you could see my WINDOWS 11 you would say what app are you using my reply is none I customized it all my self manually without the use of 3rd party apps. Yes there is a bit of registry commands I know how to do this and I understand that's not for everyone but you can still get as good customized windows 11 without going that deep in to things. No 3rd party apps needed just PowerShell and settings.
So what? Everyone has different interests and everyone except you expects it to be easy to set up and not have to read books on how to use the command line correctly to achieve something they turned it off on purpose
sorry but this is the worst customization of windows 11, and in general windows customization is very limited in the sense that microsoft does not make more extensive customization for windows, so that you can change absolutely everything, right down to the top taskbar like for mac and transparency levels and other changes, like in linux hyprland
