@@celinavivian1162Its age isn't really the problem, there are games that are much older that are still amazing. Witcher 1 is a pretty janky game and, while I personally like it a lot, not everyone will be able to look past its problems.
@@celinavivian1162 its actually very simple when attacking you just click once and click again when your sword cursor gets flames and repeat and you gotta switch between strong, fast and group fight style if you are missing your attacks, go fast if you do little damage go strong group isself expelationary
"Most of the witcher lore content on youtube is just people reading from the wiki." He's the chosen one boys and girls. The hero we need but don't deserve.
it feels like there's so much care and cleverness into the making of your videos; the witcher youtube community really benefits from having you. so yes, i would fucking love a witcher video every month if it's a comfortable arrangement for you; much love.
yes sir a witcher video a month shall keep my witcher addiction alive. Honestly though i have begun reading the witcher books from start again and its so good. This channel is just the perfect thing that could have happened to youtube witcher fans two years ago and i hope you keep it up.
I totally agree about the lack of quality Witch lore content on RU-vid. The most prominent channel I've found is Old Witcher, which is usually common knowledge padded out by made up shit. Quality lore videos are very rare.
9:36 From my old playtrough I barely remember that in polish voice lines there is more emphasis on "none here can say they know Berengar" which as I remember (but might be wrong) implied that those witchers have met Berengar but he never really opened to them. Idk I haven't played witcher 1 in a while
There's this fan mod that tells the story of Geralt and Yen's wedding. Letho is there and we get flashbacks where the 4th viper school witcher is there with them, but leaves shortly after rescuing Yen. In this situation it is possible that he was captured as others, just seperately. Maybe CDPR can take it into consideration when remaking the order games
23:28 I love the dynamic between Lambert and the others. Lamber is clearly a prick, but he also clearly loves them and he clearly doesn't like showing that he loves them because he must be tough and strong. And the others love him too and engage in his prickness just to get back at him, but also in good fun.
I'm glad to see that you've picked up on the mystery assassin from Witcher 1. That's a dropped plot points I've been struggling with ever since I completed Witcher 2. After that games' prologue, it really seemed like everyone forgot that the Kingslayers had in fact already sent 1 guy after Foltest in the first game. You get all this insight into the three Kingslayers' adventures and how Geralt was mixed up in them, and literally everyone forgets that there should have been **four** Kingslayers. For the longest time I wasn't able to find any information on the witcher 1 assassin because how easily his existence was glossed over. Some people might subconciously think that it was Serrit or Auckes trying to kill Foltest in Witcher 1 - they do look alike. But yeah Geralt *killed* the Witcher 1 assassin. So how does he fit into the story?
I would like to write something about the comic "Betrayal." Overall, the story explains Geralt's gray hair this way, as his hair color changed after killing Gweld. Additionally, I think this partially connects with Lambert's quest, and it seems to me that CDPR adapted this story into the game. In the comic, there's a character named Aideen, an elf woman who helps Geralt. In the game, Lambert wants to avenge a friend named Aiden. Considering that witchers from the Cat School also appear in the comic, I only made this connection after watching your video. Of course, this is completely non-canonical and inconsistent with Sapkowski's canon in every way. He wanted to include certain things in the comic because they were his old story ideas. I'm very glad that your video made me realize something. Greetings from Poland 🤟
Excellent video, Neon! Id love more of this type of content tbh, it was very well done and researched, but that's not a surprise, coming from your content 🙏🏻
Yes we need at least 1 Witcher lore video per month from Neon Knight. There is a very high demand for Neon Knight level quality Witcher content on RU-vid.
to be real with you i've only ever watched your witcher content. it's what drew me to your channel to begin with. i wasn't really aware of your other work because a) algorithm and b) i never thought to check. my bad
I know it's not the main topic. I was a witcher fan since 2015 and know that's very late but i wanted to ask you if you work besides youtube/witcher videos?Likein a restaurant, bar etc. I'm amazed how you can keep researching, editing clips and uploading videos considering that youtube is really silly sometimes. Besides that keep up with the witcher lore i love it. Much love from Germany🇩🇪
Thank you for this. Definitely like what you’re doing here. Loving it, in fact. Entertaining and relaxing viewing that I look forward to over my lunch after an early morning start on The Witcher 3. It enhances my experience and my enjoyment of the game, having videos like these through which to process events I’ve just experienced as Geralt. See, I’m playing Witcher 3 at present, for the first time and can see after many, many hours that I will still be playing it for many, many more. I find it all a bit overwhelming, but epic, fascinating and addictive in the very best character driven and story telling ways. I love the rag bag of influences in the Witcher world, being an amateur historian myself, with everything from Jacobean tragedy to detective noir, from Shakespearean comedy farce to Biblical levels of depth and seriousness; from Hammer Horror to David Fincheresque serial freak puzzle detection and then, of course, slaying said freak. I recognise influences from Greek Myths, Norse, Celtic, even North African and beyond. So yeah, gimme all the lore ya’ got. I’m loving it. And you do it so well.
The thing about the other Witchers from 2 already bothered me just simply for the reason that it is probably one of the greatest independencies they took from the books where we never got Witchers from different schools teaming up, it must have been a hell of a story to tell how the lone White Wolf ended up with them. It was one of the biggest blindspots in the story and it always felt weird to me as normally we often do get information from happenings that don´t necessarily directly relate to our current situation in both books and games, just because it would feel natural to put a situation into context, giving it weight and...that is clearly lacking here, also making Geralt look a little bit off with how little he cares.
I do hope they remake the Witcher 2 and maybe the Witcher 3 in the distant future and address story holes and restore cut content I’m very interested in seeing where it goes
At 26:28 you say "medieval post it note" so those aare actuallly a real thing. The word protocol comes from the seals placed on Byzantine tomes which summarized what they were about for easier book finding
just a note, I like your content and always did, but sometimes I get confused with the time lines and a lot of unknown names, idk how you orgnize all this things in ur brain but would be very helpful if you took that into consideration in the lore videos, and yes please make lore videos
@@TheMrDewilno more like there can only be one that dies by bed which there are none of course geralt could have been a candidate through his gracious asking of both triss and yen to chain him to a bed like it’s a sex dungeon but hey he’s still in a bed but it doesn’t matter because that prick dandelion evicted him from that place ruining a historic moment what a dick right
A 40+ minute Witcher lore video from Neon Knight? It must be my Birthday. Yes your Witcher lore videos are incredible, your humor 10/10, your editing skills 10/10, your knowledge 10/10, your passion 10/10. Please keep making these videos.
Yeah we are talking about the same game where you can actually get hanged if you fail a hilariously one sided fight still I’m curious about that random button that shows up right after you drop is that supposed to make gerelt use igni on the rope around his hands then the one on his neck or something I can’t test it out since for some damn reason the Witcher 2 is an Xbox exclusive awkward middlemen what can I say
1:15 Yes. All the issues stated here is exactly why I subscribed so fast in the first place. Nobody else puts in the same effort as you do. I greatly appreciate the substantive quality I know I’ll get when I click on your Witcher videos, and I eagerly await each one. Thank you.
Dammit, I could've sworn Geralt killed that cat in season of storms. Paused the video as a matter of fact, looked through the book's final chapters, eager to prove you wrong, as people are wont to do in this world. Finally I forgot all about what drove me to open that polish guy's book, and once again got lost in his exciting, unique storytelling. Only remembered what had prompted my reread (which will be continued for the following couple of days it seems) when I saw my pc screen, 2 hours later. All in all, your knowledge and deductions regarding anything in the Witcher's universe I would now fully recommend to anyone starting to enjoy it!! Truly well done, sir.
I completely agree with your statement that most Witcher lore coverage is subpar. This is probably the best lore channel I know of so yes, one high-production value Witcher video per month would be a godsend. Looking forwards to it!
Ha, I've read that same reddit thread about Karadin and I also was surprised at how confident everyone was with their decision to take him out. As though they had played some part of the quest I had missed, lol. To be honest, the whole 'coming up with elaborate out-of-game theories to reverse-engineer evidence that the choice you picked was the right one in a video game quest that was clearly included before it was fully written' is the most reddit thing ever, haha. Good video
TLDR: I interpreted it as Karadin is at the bare minimum twisting the facts to seem less culpable, Karadin seemed to wash his hands of his grim past and friends, rather than repent. So I begrudgingly back Lambert up rather than let himself get killed. Idk if its just the demeanor, but IMO Karadin sounded like the most untrustworthy, had the most to lose by Geralt digging into their past, and therefore the biggest incentive to lie. Lambert who we know, thought highly of Aiden, where as this random guy, who knows we are out for revenge just says, oh Aiden fucked up so we just HAD to kill him. The letter I think is genuine, but being on the body I took it as something recent, and more of a "It would be bad if I'm seen with you", rather than something a changed man would say when asked to join a slaving business. From the beginning Geralt knows that this is a quest to find and kill Aidens killer, and Karadin may not be "beyond a reasonable doubt" guilty, but imo is "more likely than not" guilty, so I chose "kill him" taking it as "lambert do what you must"
You don't GET muscles, he's a big mountain of muscle because he wants to be and worked for it I'm always more fascinated by how such a big bloke can be so stealthy, the way he moves in the games is really impressive 🙂
I'd definitely like more Witcher content. It amazes me that after multiple playthroughs I still learn a lot watching your videos. This one was great, by the way!
I’m here for the Witcher content, because as you said the quality of whats out there, especially pertaining to its knowledge of/interaction with the books, is sorely lacking.
More content good. I just watched an 11 hour retrospective video and the person repeatedly got basic stuff wrong. Like they claimed Vesemir tried to kill king of the Wild Hunt with his knife and was killed for failing. Dude. Wtf? How can you so badly misread one of the biggest scenes of the whole damn game?
Always had issue with the Jad Karadin quest. One is that it kinda asks you to go to Skelige before you are supposed to. And then the killing Jad. Otherwise your cat school budy throws a hissy fit.. L quest. Unplayable. Refund.
Oh hell yeah!!! Papa has blessed us with more Witcher content! I like the other content as well, you're a funny dude, but the Witcher videos are my favorite. Keep up the good work! ⚔️
Your videos are amazing. Your attention to detail and research is incredibly impressive and gives me new perspectives on quests and stories I've played through many times. Great work dude.
I Love your content Neon Night. I am looking forward to Witcher 1 remake and Witcher 4. Cant wait for you to break them down too and give us insight on things we missed. :)
Neonknight; "would you like lore vi-" Me: SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY! Meme aside, yes! Please mister Knight! I absolutely love your entertaining video and gentle teacher voice!
Personally I liked the Jad Karadin questline because it shows the realism of how you cannot always make a satisfying decision when you do not have all the required information to do so. Geralt would not kill Karadin unless he was absolutely sure he was guilty and since he is not sure, he would not approve of Lambert murdering him.
The high quality Witcher lore videos is what youtube desperately needs IMO. I watched a streamer finish the witcher 3 just recently and he wanted to deep dive into the lore of the universe. All the english-speaking options are just not it. And I, personally, will watch those videos twice each if you do that. I believe you can make the it best.
Honestly I feel like your format for Witcher videos fill a hole the community has had for as long as I can remember. While there are others who go into the tiniest details and have encyclopedic knowledge on the games and books, I tend to miss a more longform analytical style
I've always been disappointed that Letho and the others who seem rather smart enough, but he all the others are dumbed down to drive so much of the story of multiple games by being made to think they would ever receive anything for killing any kings... The narrative of the games could have been made better...I just don't think any witchers, especially Letho, would have done this...ridiculous...
The note and the family being fake is such a far-fetched theory. And it just doesn't make sense why a bad guy would try to rely his life upon a good faith of someone he doesn't know. Surely you can always find out the truth later, than what he would do? And after all, it's just not right to kill some guy 2 vs 1, unprepared and in front of his family. If Lambert wants to fight him, surely he can find a better time and circumstances for that, he can catch him red-handed doing sometthing bad and fight him there. But I feel like Lambert wanted Geralt to be there because he expected Geralt to stop him from giving in to his anger. Nothing is stopping him from fighting that witcher later on his on, except for his own doubts, which he obviously has
Loved the video, I’d look forward to your monthly Witcher uploads. You seem to be very thorough with your respect to source materials and citing of information
