Hey, I'm one of the runners of Super Mario Land 2 any%. Is there any particular reason you didn't contact a runner and get some more info in how it works? When you fall through the floor in the first level, you're landing on a copy of the level that has no sprites. This exists because that's how the memory of the Game Boy works. Additionally, getting a power-up doesn't change WHERE you end up in the memory ("glitch world" as you call it), but rather we get a power-up just so we can break blocks at the bottom. And the block we break at the bottom? It corresponds to the memory location 0xA2D5, and by breaking it, we change it's value, and it instructs the game to start the credits the next time we enter a level. Something that would have been nice to see in the video is the "pixel perfect pipe," which is a pipe halfway through the memory that requires you to land on one exact pixel, then stand and enter the pipe one frame apart (done by pause buffering inputs). Anyways, cheers!

Mhmm, it's always cool to see this kind of compilation video, because it brings some attention to the showcased games, so thank you for that. However, I have to criticize you for your lack of research as well as for neither contacting (at least in my case) nor crediting the rights holders of the video material you use. Contacting the runners would also have filled many of the knowledge gaps you have in regards to what is happening in some games. I would have been happy to help you out with all the things that were unclear to you in SML and SML2. I hope you improve in that regard in the future. Keep it up!

Hello! I am a speedrunner of SM64DS and would like to add feedback not for bashing, but to help you as a creator while also giving people scrolling through comments a better explanation of the game. First, the waterfall trick is called Moat Skip and requires A or B to be pressed with frame perfect timing. In SSL you have to do a no input long jump to avoid the sand killing you. (little known fact that you were fine leaving out) The out of bounds movement in the character room is called 8 star door skip and is stupid hard (Rupa‘a movement is legendary). There is an intentional death during the key grab that allows you to exit the stage faster (reminder the 8 star door is still locked). We call the death after unlocking Mario deathwarp. Rupa (and only Rupa) does the basement rabbit clip by using the rabbit on the right, while everyone else uses the rabbit on the left which is easier, but a little slower. The upstairs rabbit clip out of bounds area is the floor under the stairs leading to the 80 star door btw, and the upwarp is called a heavens portal or an hp (complicated stuff) and you still need to avoid the trigger of the endless staircase. In BitS (Bowser in the Sky), there is a trick called TJWK (Triple Jump Wallkick) that is, to my knowledge, much harder than the N64 version. Rupa is currently the only player who goes for this in runs. That’s about it for the SM64DS rant. I will say that we speedrunners are very passionate in our “art”, and top runners usually have upwards of 1000 hrs in their game(s). My current Any% PB is a 14:06 and I have put about 800hrs into the game (nowhere near all of it is Any%). I will say you did a very good job commentating the game for not contacting runners which I highly highly recommend doing next time if there is one. (Discords can be found on speedrun.com) Finally, I hope anyone reading this considers joining the speedrunning community, if not already a part of it, and running a game or a few.

So I speedrun a lot of games (Mario specifically) on an emulator, although I’m pretty good at 3D land, I might try to speedrun it. Good video (besides some of 3D land haha)

You're doing quite some service for showcasing the first two Super Mario Land titles. As a player who did speedruns for Super Mario Land 1 in particular, I do need to nitpick that part of the video, when you mentioned the horizontal wrap glitch in 4-3, that only works on v1.0 of the game (yes, this game did have revisions during mass production), though its only use is for swag, as 2-3 and 4-3 are autoscrollers. The glitch is relatively simple as well; just hold left as a block is pushing you off the left side of the screen, until you pop up on the right. Also, the boss fight at the end has you mashing A/B as fast as you can to defeat it fast while taking damage as the second phase of Tatanga starts up. --LarviStar

I’ve reached the 7-1 flag pole while not doing the crouch spin Mario Tanookie jump all I did was run to the back which is a little behind where Mario Spawns when you first enter the level and then I just sprinted and then jumped using the Tanookie suit to then kind of glide or whatever you call what Mario was doing when he uses the Tanookie

In Super Mario Run There's a button that puts you in a bubble, the button is that one in the top left corner of the screen with the bubble image

Technically you forgot about the Super Mario Advance Series but that’s doesn’t really matter because as far as I’m aware I don’t think there’s any differences with glitches and stuff idk though lol

In Super Mario Land the way the loading works is that when your off screen on the left it actually wraps around so you hit the trigger on the right side to finish the level. You can normally beat this boss without killing it by shooting the blocks under the boss and hitting the trigger but this is alot faster.

Yo, it's time for my preferred type of speedrun: 100%! Times ranges from the original Super Mario Bros. In 19 minutes to the Lost Levels 100% record of just under 36 minutes set by Kosmicd12 just a few days ago, to the infamously long 100% speedruns of Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Super Mario Odyssey, both over NINE HOURS LONG!

I dont know if you ever figured out the bubble in Mario run, but you can tap the icon in the top left corner and you will get put in a bubble.

Super Mario Land 2-3 , 2:19 the block pushes mario back so his hitbox jumps to the other side of the screen, where the "axe" is that encounter tringgers the end level scene, skipping the boss
