Nah this is the realest thing I've ever seen. I was sure XC1 was my least favourite and I'm currently replaying it and I can't even dare to think like that again
@@Xenado22 I actually enjoyed xc3d at the time and that's when I realized Xenoblade, and most jrpgs are better to play on a hand held not a home console.
@@collinhalverson4681 no one else thinks it’s overrated so idk. It’s not the best in the series I love it. Trust me I do. But XC3 is best and I like 2 more also
XCX stays at the top for me as a technical masterpiece, extensive FREE DLC and post game side quests (Elenora is CREEPY), the freedom of flying around with no loading screens, and online multiplayer. Also killing massive bosses on foot is just an insane feeling.
And last but not least, amazing soundtracks from the legend Hiroyuki Sawano. Which in my opinion, some track in xcx actually outshines tracks from mitsuda, ACE +, kenji, and yoko combined lol.
@@kaetce Glad to hear that, i'm currently playing the franchise for the first time, and hell, this xenoblade chronicle 1 is almost garbage in my eyes, expecially the story. It's literally only "the Monadou powa!!!" with many terrible cliches like " we don't kill the enemies even if they want to destroy the world and they killed my best friend, cause we're the good guys". I really hope the other 2 are better, can't actually figure out how so many people call this trash a masterpiece
3ds was my first Xenoblade game, and although DE replaces it, still overall Xenoblade 1 is my favorite of the franchise, and my second favorite game ever, after Golden Sun. Although that's due to personal reasons, as I underwent a mental breakdown around the time I played the 3ds Xenoblade port. Part of my problems were I began to suffer delusions/hallucinations, and a general feeling like my life was pointless. Shulk's struggles with explaining his visions really resonated with me, and the cutscene where Alvis tells Shulk his life isn't pointless is what caused me to seek help to get better. I still have delusions/hallucinations, but I've learned methods to deal with them now so they don't impact my life.
The Wii U release didn't require you to boot into Wii mode manually, you just chose the icon on your Wii U home screen and it would boot straight into the game running in Wii mode.
No way XC1 DE is below a xenoblade 2 dlc. The community chart alone put the dlc for 2 out of thr top 3 in my eyes, and the short length doesn't help. 3 dlc fixed the community chart and made it enjoyable, but just Torna isn't top 3, especially above 1 DE. But it's not my list, so all I can do is rant a tad in the comments, oh well
As much hate as it gets I enjoyed X2's blade grind. The amount of content fleshing the rare blades out is amazing. I'm struggling to finish Xenoblade chronicles definitive edition.
This is a very, very well put together list. I almost entirely agree with your order. I probably would have put Xenoblade Chronicles X a couple of notches higher, but really overall this is a well done list. Hat's off to ya.
Mi favorite Xenoblade game is Xenoblade 2. It has the best story, OST, and combat system. Though I loved 3's combat, it's too simplistic and not nearly the depth that Xenoblade 2 had. Also, I think Xenoblade 2 has most of the best characters in the franchise. I love all Xenoblade games. but I think that the best one is definitely Xenoblade 2. I also think Xenoblade 2 has the best side content. Yes, hero quests are the best sidequest in the series, but Xenoblade 2 still has de Blade quests, that are not as good as the hero quests from 3, but Xenoblade 2 has the heart-to-hearts, something that's missing in Xenoblade 3. I didn't like the changes in the gameplay that Torna made. They just erased all the depth that made Xenoblade 2's combat so fun. What I did like are the changes that Future Redeemed made. FR is my 2d favorite gameplay and combat in the series after Xenoblade 2. My ranking: 4. Future Connected 3. Xenoblade Chronicles DE 2. Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Future Redeemed, and Torna (I just can't decide between these three) 1. Xenoblade Chronicles 2
I will always be Xenoblade Chronicles 3D's strongest soldier. It was my first Xenoblade game and still thr only version ive played through all the way multiple times). And the other versions not having the soundtrack and model viewer makes it very unique
I LOVE Xenoblade chronicles 3 however I found all the bases being so cookie cutter, generic, and repetitive. That seriously damaged the middle portion of the game. I also disliked how I reached a point in the game where every fight ended as soon as I got the chain gage full. Love love love this game but these issues seriously reduced it for me. It would have been an 11/10 without these issues rather than an 8
I don't get what you guys like about this series... I tried xenoblade chronicles on the switch and it felt empty. Vast spaces of nothing, filled with fetch quests, and cringey anime type stuff and bad acting. What am I missing? I want to like it and maybe I would have 20 years ago. But gaming has grown so far beyond empty worlds and fetch quests. It needs to have dense worlds like Prey, Deus Ex Mankind Divided etc. It needs interesting side quests like the Witcher 3 and Balder's Gate 3.
I mostly agree with the list but one thing i dont agree with is putting Future Redeemed over Base XC3. In terms of organization? Yeah FR Beats out Base Game by a mile, I honest to god hope that the next Xenoblade game follows in FR's footsteps in terms of organization. They didnt disapoint with customizing your characters because even though theres no class system, theres the chain attack books systems and unity combo's. The main problem for me starts with mathew, I barely found myself feeling bad for him, hell i feel like i barely even got to know him. I feel like maybe because future redeemed was so short, Mathew's character development got overshadowed by pretty much everyone else. We got to see Shulk and Rex bonding over fatherhood, Glimmer become more friendly torwards nikol who got alot more confident, and they became best friends. We got to piece together the true story of A and their connection to alvis and alpha, But mathew? Even though his grandfather just died, and his beloved sister disapeared, and theres a killer moebius on the loose he wants revenge on, Most of the story he just gets over it. Theres barely any emotion with him, Besides the last cutscene where he punched N for his sins. Theres not enough time for him on screen developing for me to not see him as the weakest xenoblade protagonist and the clown full o' beans
I'll keep my words somewhat brief. (except for Torna, I have very specific feelings about Torna.) tl;dr below. 1. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 - Just finished it about a week and a half ago maybe? Absolutely one of my favorite games of all time. I don't say this lightly, I have never before felt certain about calling any game I've ever played "In the Top X." (this includes every other Xenoblade game.) I still don't know what else would go in there specifically. All I know is that XC3 takes one of those spots, pretty close to the top. 2. Xenoblade Chronicles* - I can't personally decide on a favorite between 1 & 2. Both are fantastic games, and reach roughly the same heights for me. It boggles my mind that the most common opinion I've seen is that one of the two is incredible, and the other is either fine but forgettable in 1's case, or a complete dumpster fire in 2's. I don't know if I've ever seen another person that loves both games, but doesn't show a clear preference in either direction. It seems I have an unpopular opinion, but maybe I've just been seeing the wrong people play the games. 3. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 - I _did_ say I couldn't decide between XC1 or XC2, but I decided to put XC1 first because I love the game all the same, but it seems to have gotten the least praise of the three in recent years. I think both games do certain things better than the other (2 has the better cast, 1 has better pacing and better acting, among other things.) but it almost doesn't matter because XC3 blows both of them out of the water on ALL accounts. (Yes, even the music.) 4. Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed - I can't, in good conscience, put any of the "DLC" campaigns above any of the main games. But just know that, for someone who has played the entire trilogy - With what FR does for the series, my heart wants to put it at #2. Future Redeemed is Peak Xenoblade compressed into 15 hours, both in terms of gameplay and story. (for the sake of clarification, btw, I finished FR like two days ago at the time of writing.) 5. Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna ~ The Golden Country* - It's difficult to articulate my feelings about Torna. I still love it, absolutely, but I get something completely different from Torna than I get from any other campaign in the series. The cast is just so fun and lively. A cast of 9 (+ 2 guests) can feel crowded for any RPG, and doubly so for one so comparatively short, but everyone (except Aegaeon) gets the proper room to breath and feel fully fleshed out. You'll hear endlessly about the community system, but the interactions the main cast has in the midst of these quests felt like more of the main story. forcing this stuff was never the best decision, even if the quests _were_ in fact, the main story. but it never bothered me pretty much at all. I essentially played Torna (more or less) how the game wanted me to, by my own volition; our goals were aligned, so to speak. So in spite of how poorly Community was handled in Torna, the settlements (mostly Auresco) really felt alive to me, it really felt like I got what Monolith intended for me to get out of the community system. But yes, FR is pretty much just better designed Torna. 6. Xenoblade Chronicles: Future Connected* - I think all fans can agree that that FC is the "Worst" of the Xenoblade-series products, whether it be a full game, DLC, or a bonus incentive like this. (although, I think a few wouldn't use the quotes.) It does what it sets out to do, which is set up for XC3 and sell people on XCDE who were on the fence. Other than that, it's still good, but there isn't way too much more you can say about it. All this being said, it's 7 hours at least, and XCDE is by all means the best (and most accessible) version of the game, so you likely have no reason not to play it if you just beat the first game, since it comes free with DE and adds to both XC & eventually XC3 a little bit. It'll be enjoyable either way, so why not? Tl;dr: #1. XC3 #2. XC* #3. XC2 #4. XC3:FR*^ #5. XC2:TTGC* #6. XC:FC* * - I have 100% completed this particular Xenoblade Campaign (within reason; the only exception is UMs/Golds in Torna, other than that, I did 100% them.) ** - I have not Played Xenoblade Chronicles X. I wish to, but I would rather spend my money on a port or remaster, which I assume they will make before they eventually get around to making Xenoblade Chronicles X2, like they said they wanted to at some point. As such, I won't put it on any of my rankings until I play it. ^-Update: After a while, I went back and did a bunch of side content in XC3, and 100% completed FR. Placements didn't change, but I love those two entries a little more now.
Xenoblade X is the third best xenoblade game right behind 3 and 3FR What X achieved should be impossible and yeah the story is just aight but as a game it’s much more impressive and enjoyable than 2 and torna at least. Aside their amazing stories, I don’t think 2 and torna are that good of games,I’m sorry lol
I don't agree with the Wii U eshop version being last. I don't have a Wii, and it was less of a hassle to boot up the digital version than put in the disc and boot up the Wii version and use the Wii remote. Also, the Wii U eshop version let me use the gamepad as a controller instead of the crappy Wii remote or the crappy Wii pro controller. I mean you could knock it down for being a purely digital version, but I still think it has merit.
For me, it's Torna > XC2 > Future Redeemed > XC1 > XC3 > Future Connected (haven't played X or Saga or Gears). But honestly my ranking is not set and changes constantly.
@@kaetce All are very closely ranked together so it's hard to call one over the other. Unfortunately 3 just doesn't match the heights of 2 & 1 for me mainly because the world design is the weakest of the trilogy and I just really enjoy the casts of 2 & 1 so I have to put 3 at the bottom. I'd rank all 3 games in my top 10 favorites games of all time.
My List and this is my 3rd Favorite VideoGame Series of All Time 1. XBC3 2. XBC1 Definitive Edition 3. XBC3 Future Redeemed 4. XBC2 Torna The Golden Country 5. XBC2 6. XBC1 Future Connected 7. XBCX
XC2 > XC1 > XC3 Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has the best combat system. Xenoblade Chronicles 1 has the best story. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 just wasnt as full, not nearly as eventful, overleveled, too easy, chain attack was bland, story was straight forward from the beginning almost. great game but the weakest of the three. no comment on future redeemed. started that yesterday. but from the main games thats my opinion.
Then play 3 in Hard Mode, its probably the hardest then, even considering the Difficulty Mode in XC2 (Which was simply boring imo). I had really fun with its difficulty and did try very long on many Story Bosses.
So I watched this to get a rough idea about which game offers what in terms of story, gameplay, mechanics etc and today I managed to pick up XC: Definitive Edition. And straight off the bat I got some interesting vibes! The combat felt very reminiscent of Star Wars: KOTOR in terms of the action selection and real time combat/auto attack; and also Ys: VIII with it's 'quick combat', movement, level design and party management. All in all I'm enjoying it! If ever I want passionate advice about a game you're my 1st choice! Love the content and recommendations and your up to date news. Keep it up, mate! 🤜🏼
Torna is just not appealing to me personally, Stories with bleak endings push me away from one, I can handle bittersweet at best since there's still positives that come ou of that ending. At the end of the day you know exactly how this all goes and that these people Torna wants you to get invested in don't have happy outcomes, plus in my opinion 2 explains the backstories of these people perfectly fine there's no holes I feel need to be filled. Future Redeemened actually gave a happy outcome for all the charachters in it by showing the two worlds merging at the end.
Can I play XC2 : Torna golden contry alone without playing / buying XC2 first? I like the graphic and aesthethic of XC2, it's just I don't like the main character design. But with torna, I like the designs
1:10 ??? No? You just click the icon, it goes into Wiimode for you and thus (I think)starts it slightly faster than you would even start it on original Wii(Nevermind having to go into Wii mode manually if using the disk on a WiiU). Then, you don't even need a seperate controller *or even a TV* because you can just play it on the gamepad. It is straight up just the original Wii release but with more baseline accessibility, so idk what you are talking about here.
My top 5 would be reversed. Xeno 2 for me is by far the best, followed by the DE and then maybe 3 but not played XCX yet. 1. Best music is Xeno 2 followed closely by DE. Can’t remember most of the music in 3. 2. World in 2 is the most varied and interesting with lots of exploration. Sure, some frustration from field skills but everything titan felt so different. The world in 3 is so bland 3. Characters - I don’t hate any character in 2 as well. Additionally, I did not like the job system in 3. I like when every character is unique and does not learn any skill. Could go on but 3 was such a letdown for me. Maybe when I play Future redeemed I will like that better.
1.Xenoblade chronicles X 2.Xenoblade chronicles DE 3.Xenoblade chronicles Wii U/Xenoblade Chronicles wii/Xenoblade Chronicles 3D 4.Xenoblade Chronicles DE Future Connected 5.Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed 6.Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Torna Golden Country 7.Xenoblade Chronicles 2
I will take Xenoblade 2 combat over any other xenoblade game out there everyday of the week and the Torna makes it even better, I was so annoyed when they decided not to do it for Xenoblade 3
the Torna combat system was only possible because you had blades fighting alongside the player, so you could instantly switch between them. But you obviously don't have blades in XC3, so that type of mechanic isn't possible. as for the combat of XC2 and XC3, they were both overall the same with a few tweaks here and there. If anything, XC3 actually kind of "refined" the combat of 2.
XC3 doesn't allow you to reset auto attacks, like you have to wait longer than XC2 before the characters do an auto attack after you move @@Crest_Expert
@@chrismlp Oh that I understand now I didn’t mind that change too much and thinking more on it now would’ve made agnus classes more busted than they already were I guess I prefer gradually improving party by getting better skills and improving arts etc. was satisfying to me personally but I see what you mean
@@straydog4048 XB3 combat doesn't feel like you accomplish anything by doing things correctly. Whereas in 2, you are rewarded with a cool slow mo and big damage for doing combos correctly.
I got to disagree the reason xenoblade 2 is number 1 is the combat system it’s the deepest of all of them and most rewarding. The character development including the antagonist are the best in the series. The story it’s between 2 and 3 but future redeemed was amazing but this is all subjective obviously great video OJ. I think reason some people don’t care for xenoblade 2 is the blades but I love that system but I didn’t feel the need to collect all of them if I did I’d see why it would be frustrating .
I loved 2 but I have more attachment with 3 personally Main cast of XC3 is my favorite and just the lot of things like story, combat and side quests I enjoyed I gave up trying to 100% 2 cause of its rng blade system and overwhelming content 😅
@@Crest_Expert Getting all rare Blades is one of the easier things in 2 tho. You can farm Core Crystals pretty easily. Combat, characters and story were also just better imo.
yeah of course it's his list but you expect people to not give their opinion in the comments of a ranking video? also idk what you're smoking but even if you think 2 is better it has a lot more appareant flaws
how do you pick? they are all so amazing and the stories always hit on an emotional level that no other game(s) can touch. i’d say 3 has the best combat though.
Xenoblade 2 is more infamous than anything else Sure it sold a lot but it damaged the reputation of the series hence why 3 didn’t sell as well And I know there are die hard fans but I see just as many people who were disappointed and turned off by 2
Yeah xenoblade 2 turned off some people but many people started to play the series thanks to this game before playing the other games So it's a Bad thing for a good thing
"Damaged the reputation" You mean the reputation of being unknown to most players? Come on. It brought hundreds of thousands of new players to the franchise.
The moment when I unlocked Dahlia at the gatcha in Xeno2, was when I realized this game was just not for me... No matter how amazing the ending is, there's no way you can make me go through these hours of fan service.
