Which other everyday objects do you remember?

Something you showed, but did not comment on... One of the lavbels on the Mixtapoe you showed was done with a Dymo Labeler! I remember Dymo was THE label making thing to have and use! Raised lettered labels were SO professional looking! They sometimes came with interchangeable discs to make differnt typefaced labels, and the tapes were in all sorts of colors and designs. I still have, and use, my Braille labeler by Dymo. Speaking of plastic, I remember there was a device that you could use to fasten a button on an article of clothing. It had an elongated H shaped plastic piece, sort of like I---------I. You would slide a button onto the end, poke the device through a piece of cloth, and then press the trigger. The plastic end would go through and be affixed. You would then insert the other end of the H into the cloth, through the button and press again, The button was held on by the plastid fastener, now bent into a U shape with the ends on the other side and the button on top. Can't remember what it was called. Lastly, the Bedazzler, a device you could use to affix hundreds... no THOUSANDS of rhinestones or metal studs onto your clothing! With just a hundred hours of work, you, too could rock the ELVIS look!

By the 1970's, there were as many as 6 TV channels! There were the three networks, two VHF, one UHF and on the UHF spectrum, there was independent station and 2 networks. By the 1980's, we got a 2nd independent station, and there was another that could barely come in when the atmosphere was just right. Kids today know nothing of snow, or the vertical and horizontal controls, do they? Brightness and contrast are things you only touch once, if ever, any more.

Sonic drive in had plastic animals that they hung on top of the straws of large drinks. People would put them on their Sun visors in their car-some had quite a collection!

The number of TV channels varied depending on your location. Where I lived we had five channels. Six on very clear days. My husband, in his youth, had two channels. But, overall, most places had fewer than seven channels.

Usually 4 - NBC, CBS, ABC, NET/PBS. Only built-up areas had independents.

You left out gold chains. Virtually every person in every movie from the 70s had to have a gold chain around their neck.

Is anyone that grew up in the 1970s actually watching RU-vid?!?!?
@lisa-Bx
@lisa-Bx 3 месяца назад
Of course! Not only Boomers, but Gen neXt (those children shown throughout this video) constantly use RU-vid & other similar apps. Some spend as much free time on Social Media as do Millennials and Gen Z. Each generation's toys may be different, put every child enjoys playing with their generational toys - kids will be kids 😊!
