Beth and Aliona playfully arguing and dunking on each other gives such sibling energy. Then Jen like the little sibling who just wants to play with her toys while the big kids are going back and forth lol I also just wanted to say I love the vibes on your streams, they're always so chaotically wholesome. I wish I could participate more in shat but my particular recipe of neurospicy comes with delayed communication processing, so things tend to move a bit fast for me. I suppose that's why I'm coming here to say that even though I might be quiet, I'm perceiving you two and shat and I appreciate the smiles all y'all put on my face. I'm not going to trauma dump, but I'll just say I've been in a place for a while where more laughter and kindness are very much needed. I've been such a quiet lurker lately, not commenting much or being present at streams, but I just have to say that really profound talk about your careers and working on this game was so beautiful I started to cry while doing some late night marking. I think I commented a while back when Aliona was discussing kind of being in a slow period for opportunities right now and having those feelings of being so proud of Jen but also wanting a bit more of what Jen- and this conversation today with Beth reminded me of that again a bit. The last few months for me I see so many of my Facebook teaching friends getting those ideal contracts and classes and subjects they love to teach, getting so much further in their careers and I LOVE it, don't get me wrong. They deserve the world for how hard they work and for how much they do for their students; truly in awe for what they are able to do and manage. Yet for me, I am the one who isn't getting those chances really or not being given great news about teaching myself. Temp contracts are a blessing, teaching summer school is another step forward, sure, but to finally have my own classroom, environment, connecting with other colleagues is truly all I want right now in my life. Tutoring, substitute teaching, temp contracts going no where- they scratch that itch of being a teacher, I am learning a lot, am getting tons of resources for the day I get that opportunity but it feels like it will not happen. Such a long comment to basically just say thank you for your honesty Aliona, Jen, and Beth about these careers and what they mean to you. I am there with you Aliona and I am crying as I write this. It was just so touching and I truly hope we all get those opportunities to do what we truly love to do or find some combination of it all that works best for us and makes us truly happy. One day. I believe in you all, anyone who reads this, and will work on believing that for myself as well.

Just wanted to tell you that this stream was probably the best thing I've ever seen on RU-vid. Love the easy no-bullshit rapport the three of you have as people who have been to the trenches together, and it was a lovely change of pace to see your serious artist/craftswoman faces and not just the goofy stream host faces. Also great to see and hear how a character like Shadowheart is put together, and what it's like on good days, and what it's like on bad days, without trying to erase the fact that an artistic collaboration is sometimes about people butting heads together and always, on some level, a power struggle. Plus the discussion from 1.36 to 1.45 about all the rotting inside and whatnot is just incredibly real stuff, and I'm grateful you had that talk with us and not just between the three of you over a pint. In short, thanks. And whenever the soul rot threatens to take over, just remember that at least you made this, and it was good, and it meant a lot to some people.

Yay, feeling so spoilt. Two BG3 streams in a single week, from my 2 favourite people involved in BG3 😊. I just finished my 2nd playthrough yesterday, so this stream is timely. Man, that Epilogue always gets me tearing up (no spoilers, obviously).

Beth was such a fantastic guest! I loved hearing all the analysis and getting a glimpse at the push-and-pull of her directorial style with Aliona’s. And, of course, constantly dunking on each other was hilarious! @51:26 is a BRILLIANT prompt to contextualize “mouth closed effort” and I am in awe The portal defense fight was awesome! Beyond just the game mechanics, it's really cool to see Jen adjust her battle tactics so smoothly as more enemies came in.

I wasn't going to comment because I feel I've well and truly overdone it recently to a point where I'm annoyed by myself because of how and why I've been a bit weird, and I will tone it down from now on. RU-vid comments in general really isn't the right way to convey that message, and maybe I'm going to delete it later because it feels too personal, I don't have twitter and I don't like the idea of someone else conveying my message either, but I just want to say it because I feel like it's significant, at this point I would probably write a letter, that would be a more appropriate format. I wrote this down directly after the stream: I just wanted to say I get why people cry on your sofa, why they feel comfortable, or alternatively can you please stop making so much sense and being so profound, and touching? (/s for the last bit) That speech has, and I don't say this lightly, once again hit me way more than expected, in various ways, it genuinely has, and I wanted to mention it, because that doesn't happen often. You talking about being good at the wrong thing, about doing something that just feels right (although I don't know what that is for me, which is driving me mad), about feeling like you can do something but just not being able to participate, having to watch others do something you would love to do yourself, about Aliona really wanting to be part of the project, about authenticity and the rot jen mentioned, about feeling like something is eating you up, I don't know wether it's neurodivergence, I don't think it's any of the examples you mentioned, but I profoundly relate to it in some way, about the gut feeling in my case of pursuing the wrong career, about creativity and so many other topics, how you and the project affected you, how you changed over the course of it, of your emotions during it, because of the people around you and how individually the people around you affected you, and more. I don't know wether I can thank you for it, I would like to be able to say that it was a hopeful message for me or that it's had a positive effect, and while you as examples or people may have had that, this conversation hasn't, but it has certainly and deeply resonated with me once again. Few people if anyone have hit the nail on the head about those topics as well as you have, I've rarely related emotionally to about things like this. Your emotional honesty and the way you go about showing it, and I'm sure you've realised it by now are really affecting people, are important to people, even ones you'd probably not expect (I'm not a boomer btw, even though I sometimes feel like one). I've written a shorter comment before saying something similar, but I just wanted to say that, you've certainly had an impact on me, Jen mentioned an epiphany, and in a way that's what you've inspired for me, to end on a smaller more optimistic note, when it comes to an impact, jen has certainly inspired me to read more again and different things than I maybe normally would, and to look at reading differently in a way I kind of forgot about to a degree. I haven't quite managed to get back into the flow, but still. So well, and truly: thank you both.
