I loved the movie but I'm mixed on the ending. I like that they spared her. I didn't like that she accepted them as she did. It. It's fine that the whole human race is enslaved as long as a few who treated me badly are too? That undoes all the working through the issue and character growth in the scenes before that. In my mind, the movie should have ended with her being dropped down from the ship. p.s: If you liked the movie look up Dark Encounter.

Ask yourself how many days/years would you need to forgive somebody for killing your child/friend? Even if it was an accident: would you look at that person the same way? If she as the killer didnt went through the pain of being isolated would she learn to be more careful in future? Would she be the same person she is today? the grieving people who are punished this way will never have a chance to grow and better themselves now. You know the saying Every sinner has a future and every saint has a past? We should refrain from judging other people or deciding what an appropriate punishment is.

I can understand the standoffish behavior from the family, but not from the entire town. I even mentioned that I don't think innocent people should suffer, and clearly the family AREN'T the terrible people I was referring to. Also, that mentality is incredibly dangerous. Isolation and harassment are NOT how you solve issues like this. A little girl doesn't deserve to be harassed every waking moment of her life up until adulthood to instill some kind of lesson into her. Didn't she LITERALLY regret doing so the moment she clobbered Maude over the head? That's enough of a lesson learnt. Send her to a psychiatrist in a mental facility and have her do community work. I think a lot of stuffs left up in the air in this movie. My theory is that the guys calling the shots were not the aliens but those disgusting slimy creatures that ended up living in people throats. They hijack everyones bodies and brains and take over. Perhaps the stereotypical looking aliens were also possessed by those neck bug things and forced to do their bidding. Perhaps those things are interstellar pathogens like a xenomorph. They move from planet to planet by taking over the spaceships crew. The whole Milky Way galaxy might be completly infested with those things.

Sounds like the Classic Twilight Zone episode “The Invaders” where a women is being chased by aliens. The episode has almost no dialogue.

They couldn't forgive her not because she was ''different'' but because she killed her friend. Also, that's not why most people find it hard to forgive. Finally, she killed more than just one alien, and it wasn't a series of accidents but self-defence which is probably something aliens would understand.
