the one good thing about glitter force was joker. his va literally was PERFECT like he did NOT need to be that good but he SERVED anyway,, not only that but he was the only one whose personality didn't seem to be changed.
Okay, about the episode about Crush, the episode was actually cut because the boy in the episode is an American who is on a temporary exchange, and during the episode he kind of tries to get used to the Japanese custom, and because of the Americanization of the anime, they cut this episode because the character being an exchange student in Japan was the focus of the episode. It wasn't just because it focused on a crush, and other episodes were cut because they had elements of Japanese culture, such as the Japanese film episode and the festival episode.
I watched the entirety of Smile and DokiDoki before I knew there was a dub. I was watching Precure in its entirety and reached Tropical Rouge before I came to know FUTARI WA HAD A DUB! It never aired in Brazil, so I wasn't even aware this series existed for the longest part of my life, but now I love it with a passion and I HATE what the dubs for all seasons have done! THE CENSORED THE BEST SMILE EPISODE ABOUT PEACE'S DAD!?
This is so relatable, except I watched it in third grade. I remeber googling up glitter force for fanart and saw the tag smile Precure! So 2 years later I decided I wanted to watch Precure and realized why so many people are against glitter force! Glitter force was uh the ending dances needed some help-
I will say Rascal/Joker’s VA fucking ate in the dub. He had no right to serve that hard but he absolutely delivered. And plus his character was seemingly the only one that didn’t change that much so yeah he was by far the best character in the show. But yeah, I wished Precure Smile got a proper English dub ☹️
@@prettycuree i switch up so many times, I go “uh-cane” and then sometimes “ah-kah-ney” but judging by how Brian said it, I think the 2nd pronunciation is closer to how it’s supposed to be said
The Glitter Force fans in the comments annoy the hell out of me. I’m sure they’re like 7 (judging by their spelling) so they get a pass, but once they mature a bit, I hope they realize how much Glitter Force sucks
It's so cool to see how new gens are going through what us 90s kids went through with the Sailor Moon dub xD I realized later on in middle school that the DIC dub was not the original and how much of it was Americanized x-x Glitter Force really did the PreCure fans so dirty with these dubs 😂 but at least it introduced y'all to this franchise 💙
@@dwainsimmons3447 "while you millennials" 💀 dude don't project your anger at me about it lmao I never said I was angry over it, generalizing a generation over a few people is pretty petty.
Things Saban should understand before changing the names of the cures of Smile! : Why the names Happy, Sunny, Peace, March and Beauty were used is because they're the key words to encourage kids to feel comforted after the earthquake that happened in Japan in 2011. Cure Happy symbolises somebody who is always there for others even in sad situations Cure Sunny symbolises someone enthusiastic who help others to find the light Cure Peace symbolises somebody optimistic to help bring things back to normal after disasters strike Cure March symbolises the month of the earthquake and a personified version of spring (not talking about the westernised version of this anime!) coming (metaphorically with the flowers blooming, pink blossom trees, critters coming out to play) Cure Beauty symbolises the restoration of life (similar with Cure March) I'm sorry if this isn't explained properly or incorrectly.
I kinda understand why they didn’t do some of the episodes involving Japanese culture, but WHY COULDN'T THEY HAVE DUBBED THE ONE ABOUT YAYOI/LILY'S DAD!!! I guess it was supposed to be a kids show and all, but that wouldve been my favorite episode!
I actually like this dub. I find it's fun, and without Glitter Force, I wouldn't re-discover Pretty Cure. Plus, as it and Doki Doki are dubbed, I can share it with younger family members, who don't read well enough to watch something subbed.
I relate to the intro so much but more older like around 3rd grade and more. Also wow the name changes- I knew about the glitter names before but now the human names is the first time I’m hearing about other than watching your Precure Doki Doki video first- 😅😨 Wait what? They missed some episodes? Wow- they missed like character background/backstory!?! I am so happy I skipped the endings for this!
@@veghesther3204 Almost. 4Kids split the actual first season into two, but in Japan (and many countries in Europe and everywhere in the world) it kept going for 4 seasons, for a total of 201 episodes. And then some more bonuses that run to this day
There’s a RU-vidr forgot the name but she was talking about the endings how they were not perfect enough and I agree when I first watch it in my head, I say that’s weird why is the endings not perfect as the two other endings and then I realize RU-vid show this and Why are the endings bad and then I said OK now I agree 😱
Glitter force is my favourite because it was the first precure anime show I first saw and watch. The transformations are amazing but I could only see them on RU-vid. I don’t know where to find all the episodes and I actually like the English version because I could understand the series more like that
Watched the first three episodes of Glitter Force then found Smile Precure subbed and that's how I'm now a massive weeb 😂 I'm so late at commenting on this video but anyways, love your channel!!
They skip a episode with guest stars of two real life Japanese Comedians , so they shouldn't get the rights to their likeness to use the episode so can not blame them for that skip episode
correction on the pronunciation! Miyuki -mee-yoo-kee Akane-A-kah-nay Yayoi- Yah-yo-ee Nao-Nah-o Reika-ray-ka and i get these were mistakes, but instead of makito (how u said) its makoto. with an o. sorry if i sound rude, just trying to correct
I remember watching glitter force like three times in a row. BUT I ALWAYS. never. EVER. at all costs. avoided the sequel. But I agree, I think the first few 3D animated dances were full of life, (the ones that actually looked good and where they actually made all their tiny little accessories bounce along as they danced? yeah those ones)
The Glitter Force copied Smile Precure is because some kids might want an English Dub of Smile Precure and it’s hard for America to understand Smile Precure while it’s Japan
Don't get me wrong, I love Glitter Force, but I love Precure a lot more and Japanese names to American names is great. But the question is why can 4Kids do all the Glitter Force seasons like they did to Yu-Gi-Oh! seasons?
4kids doesn’t exist anymore, they went bankrupt years ago The only company I can think of that could dub Precure and finally properly bring it to the US is Aniplex or Viz media, maybe even Disney XD since they’ve aired a lot of anime and with them airing Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur (a show with the main character being female) I don’t think they’d have an issue with airing Precure at all
I know everyone hates glitterforce so much and I want to watch the real one so bad but if I use illlegal websites it messes up my device and I get malware. How can I watch precure 😭
Before i found out about the entire glitter forve thing I have always watched the original smile precure, the japanese was alwaya nostalgic for me. And i found out about the dub like 2 weeks ago Or maybe evn today since i firgod about it🧍♀️ And man did it suck
Help thanks for ruining my childhood like I’m not kidding. I used to watch this kid and I do actually watch glitter force. Doki Doki even though I’m. 13😭😭
I don't hate them, I watched it as a 12 year old. The only character I hate is the jester because he's scary and also when he's mad. So don't despite the girls in front of me 💗🧡💛💚💙
Wait, smile precure was 2012 Glitter force i assumed was 2013 or something. If you said you were a kid during that time.. man, i feel old. I was 14 when smile precure came out.. but never got into the series until i was like 23 (im 26 now lol, so old), with Happiness Charge Precure. Havent seen smile yet, but ive always had a soft spot for dubs and stuff.. I'll watch this one someday
If they cut some of the episodes in Glitter Force because of display of Japanese culture, why was there and episode in Doki Doki that wasn’t cut even though it showed Japanese culture?
Yeah …. Kids enjoy stuff from other cultures so why change the names ? It’s a good thing to teach kids that people from other countries exist …….. and the whole original series was destroyed in the dub - it wasn’t just a dub it was an anime ‘turned American ‘. Dubs are fine but changing the series isn’t
I grew up on Glitter Force. The dub is as pretty fun in my opinion but I don’t know why they felt the need to convince me this wasn’t Japan 😂 Joker is still an epic villain in this. To this day I’m scared of him and his design is awesome to me. Also calling someone with terrible luck “Lucky” is hilarious
I’m 24 and I’m watching Glitter Force for the first time. I knew going in that it was apart of Pretty Cure so I watched it just out of curiosity but once I got to episode 4, I felt a wave of nostalgia. I grew up watching anime on 4Kids. It felt like I was watching Yu-Gi-Oh or Pokémon on Saturday mornings. That’s the main reason that I’ve been continuing to watch it. I’ve only been watching it in the mornings before work to really feel like I’m a 7 year old getting ready for school rather than a 24 year old that has to work a 9 to 5 just to be able to afford food for a week. In a way, it’s brought me a lot of comfort. I’m aware though that it’s not well liked and some of the dialogue has made me cringe
The biggest issue with GF are the episodes the dub removed; one episode in particular focused on Yayoi and her Dad (Lily's Dad is never mentioned). The Smile Pretty Cure movie was also never dubbed.
I just want an anima that i don't want to read but get everything. Why is that so damn hard? Seriously, aren't we Americans suppose to be tolerance of other cultures or some shit like that?
Well, glitter force came here to brazil too, i don't know anything about the englis dub but oh man, i risk to say that the brazilian dub is awfully terrible, they decide to dubbed in Miami so anyone i mean anyone who could talk brazilian portuguese couldn dub this thing, the voice acting is terible even creating the meme of the "hamister émuly" and it is worse becouse of the audio mixing made some background sounds were way louder than the main dialoge.
And side note: they changed the names of the girls when transformed, they are just glitter Pink, glitter orange, glitter yelow, glitter Green and glitter blue i am thankfull of knoing pretty cure before this becouse i have sure if that were my first contact i would never deep dive in this franchise ever
