Velma turns Scooby-Doo's Mystery Incorporated into an adult cartoon for HBO Max. Does it work? No, not really. A ton of people aren't happy with Velma's portrayal of the Scooby-Doo franchise. While the show doesn't live up to the Scooby-Doo name, it may actually have a bright future ahead on HBO Max.
While Velma's new adult animated series falls flat, it's a reminder to go back and support some of the earlier iterations of Scooby-Doo that a bunch of fans ignored. Scooby-Doo Mystery Incorporated takes the gang into a more adult setting and pulls it off incredibly well! Scooby, Shaggy, Velma, Daphne and Fred all get their fair share of character development with stories that respect the source material of Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?
