i think sexy red is a trend. and like all trends these days, her time in the spotlight comes with an expiration date.

I dont think its a hate train at all, but I think people are catching on that she is overhype. She has been consigned from Drake the last year and a half, have a song with chief keef, got promoted by the WWE, and her album only did 28k first week, the math aint mathing.

ATP idc if I’m a hater if anything Kendrick it’s okay to be a hater. Sexy red is not talented and makes mediocre catchy songs that fizzle out after a few months. ATP she’s a personality that’s what ppl praise rather her music. The public will get bored eventually due to her lack of talent.

In my opinion, Sexxy Red receivs TOO MUCH CREDIT! She doesn't do anything new or original. Cupcakke does thot music too and she actually has talent, her flow & pen game! Sexxy Red is not grinding! It probably doesn't take her longer than 5 minutes to write her generic songs

To me the rap girls are becoming redundant like the men😭 Sexxy, Ice, Meg, Latto, etc they all becoming boring to me with the same flows, subject matter, sounds, etc😭

the beat is catchy but god lord the yelling and off rapping his annoying. Her telling the teacher "shut up, the kids want sexy redd put it on" or something along those lines and that turned me off and the whole industry being tired of a rapper is something I never heard of. So weird

The problem with the tour is they're trying to book her for Arenas and her fan base is just not big enough for arenas yet. I think whoever she did her booking with should've thought about that and did the same venues. They did last time as far as size instead of going for these huge arenas .

i think it has more to do with talent & people tired of mediocrity. plus i feel Kendrick reminded folks what rap is supposed to be, I’ve noticed a shift lately of hip hop going back to its roots, and people are feeling it too. i think it’s why her & ice spice are starting to be hated more by the masses. there’s room for their type of music in the clubs but rap as a whole lost the plot once this became standard.

I’ll be honest, I never put time into listening to her, but the clips I heard of Poundtown and Skeeyee grated my ears. That sounds harsh, but her voice just doesn’t sound good to me.

Is there even a way for these newer artists to avoid being over exposed? The attention span of the general public is way lower after covid, yet new artists are expected to capitalize off of the initial attention they get. Same thing happened with Ice Spice, she got attention by being pretty and making superficial bops and people actually LIKED and DEFENDED the fact that she wasn’t a lyricist. So she made that her brand. Yet after a year of this, everyone is tired of her, and it shows in the way they talk about her and her music now. Maybe reinventing your brand could work a la Rihanna but outside of that, It seems like theres this cycle of newer artists who haven’t been established yet, being hot for about a year or 2 then nobody wants to hear from them again

i'm from STL, been listening to Sexyy since the Slide Remix and Free Smoke (shout out Mr Nice Guy 😭).. i love that she went mainstream but i also hate it. she was the ghetto girl hood hero, i don't think she's good for a world stage.. too many folks don't understand Northside STL to understand Sexyy, because here she is not an anomaly. i'm in pagedale, i can find you 11 Sexyy Reds rn. i miss when she made club anthems for US.

Sexy Red is doing her thing and her songs are trendy and everyone loves to sing them and dance. But I honestly don’t see her lasting. Like I feel like she is just a trend, after everyone is over this trend they will move to the next. I do wish her much success but we all know how it goes
