Yea no hes still terrible. He has mediocre healing, bad damage, has no offensive utility or pressure, his only utility either doesnt work or straight up sabotages your team half the time, and even when it does work its just worse than every other save tool. His sustain and ult are ok but are outclassed by pretty much every other support thats comparable to him. Only time he brings high value is against very specific interactions and it is never worth playing him for those situations.
After seeing and playing with the Season 6 buffs to him I think it put him in a good place. The only change I think they should do is have his healing auto charge like Kiriko so that at a moment's notice he can switch from dmg to healing instead of having to wait for it to swap then charge. This would let him be more responsive and less clunky.
@@tommysquid324 they could make it work like illari's primary fire, like it's constantly charging and you only tap the button to release the healing blossom. There could be like a 50% reduction in charge rate while he's switched over to thorn volley but i think that's a solid compromise
Especially with his petal/tree techs, like lifting your team out of grav or blocking a flux. He may not be the best support but man he's not bad anymore.
I honestly love reading all the people saying he is still trash. Like yeah he isnt broken but his power comes with skill and game knowledge. Also anyone saying that lifegrip is an awful ability is wrong. Its basically a second life for someone and gives your team a faster regroup because of it
It's almost like it's okay to release a hero that may not be great because shocker, they can do the buffs later. I remembered people were complaining about his weapon swapping as if they've never played a shooter or something. All it took was one change on console to my left stick and I can switch easily to constantly do healing/damage with minimum reloading since they nerf the off screen time thanks to the alternative controls. Sometimes people don't care about numbers or meta, they just want to have a hero be fun and it feels like the buffs he's been given have put him there, especially the tree ones. One thing that would be nice is that he was clearly intended to have a passive so they should give a new one to where, what I've seen suggested, have a small amount of poison damage if you land a certain number of shots with his thorns.
Bro, yes! Exactly! I've been playing LW since his release trying to make him work. Yeah, on his launch he was dogshit with his passive helping enemies and movement penalty, but even with the previous series of buffs he already was fine, and now he feels great having insane survivability and great utility. Didn't expect anything else from you! Great video
He feels so much better! He is the most fun I’ve had with a support since Moira on release! When you get into it, his gameplay is chaotic & i love that feeling of trying to figure out what I need to so next. My new fave support!
This my what my feeling is after playing LW after the buff, he’s a pocket support like mercy but not for dps but for tank mainly, he literally gives the tank a safety card that can let them do whatever the heck they want and still alive. If he is getting dive he’s still super hard to kill cuz his volley is very strong if you can aim and the dash heal buff is actually very friggin good, also his platform is mostly for for escaping and protecting yourselves so don’t waste it on others unless the condition is right, Dafran almost never die when he play LW after the buff and he quickly went up to top 500. Ppl who say he’s trash are one’s that got so traumatized from his pre-buff form, haven’t try him yet or those that only hear what others said and cry along lol.
the thing is, if you really dedicate yourself into learning how to utilize his kit, he can be really impactful. i love playing him so much & tbf he fits my playstyle perfectly. i can get out a match with good healing & decent dmg/kills. most of my lw games are a win. my highest kill count in a match was 24 (just looked it up lmfao). not thaat much but still (i'm metal ranks so don't expect too much lmao). i've read a few times & i aggree w/ the following: for his thorn volley to have smthn like a lingering effect - similar to widow's venom mine, just waaay less. or like ana's dmg over time, but not to that extreme as hers. jus smthn small to secure a kill a bit easier. idk if that might get into overkill territory but it could push him into mid/high b tier (?) or (wishful thinking) into loooow a tier. anyway, loved him since release & i'm trying to unlock the his full potential as best as i can.
Devs release a support who doesn’t act as a DPS and is mostly team utility based with high skill ceiling and the entire community thinks he’s trash 😂the amount of shit you can do with LW with platform and tree alone is amazing.
Weaver is fine/arguably better than average now, but starting off the vid with his terrible launch state's community hate is fairly disingenuous and honestly not necessary as nearly everyone had the same opinion. Just creator responses to the latest changes would be enough to show how opinions of the character are ill-informed. But with showing launch footage, I dont think anyone could objectively say LW was anywhere but bottom on release and everyone knew it at the time. Now opinions are changing, putting creators in saying stuff they theory-crafted in 10sec after reading the patch notes better shows a lack of thought on their part, and exposes them parroting a narrative they decided upon 2 seasons ago when LW was drastically different (which may be the point, in which case fair enough). Meanwhile LW is great atm, his lack of real playtime previously can be seen in how a majority of people play versus a LW in comp. In previous seasons people never needed to play around him very much compared to other picks, but in his current form, people have no idea what to do against him and it shows. Players seem to be still under the assumption he doesn't do much, which is great because a good one is a nightmare to catch, as well as hard to burn through the other teammates instead. Got to Masters with him last season, and now on a 9 win-streak this season (which will no doubt end) with the guy, so congrats on Top 500.
I have talked in dms with kajor and coach mills and they both still have that opinion and feel very strongly that lw is bad, don't know about the gameleap guy I've never talked to him.. I can see how putting the launch state community hate can come off as me trying to show something not as it is, but I personally believe it fits very will into the video as telling the story of lifeweaver - I made sure to put dates on it to make it clear and separate. At the moment, the vast majority of top 500s who I know still believe lw is still very weak, although I am aware quite a few people do play him in lower ranks.. but basically that is the reason for the title. Hope this helps! Sorry if it came off the wrong way. Thanks for the comment!
Once you get used to it it's the objectively better control scheme cos it lets you rejuvenating dash without having to jump first, which means that: 1. you can dash quicker in response to being dived 2. you can do some techs that you can't with the old control scheme such as bhopping after your dash - in a race out of spawn I will be significantly faster I would just recommend setting a keybind for "next weapon" and using that instead of using 1 and 2 to switch between them, I use mouse 5.
ah you're on controller.. I think you are forced to use updated control scheme cos there aren't enough buttons? unless you have one of those fancy controllers
@@meta1ow I mean what’s the difference between the gameplay the 2 characters I mean I have 60 hours on orisa and 100 hours on ramattra cause they’re projectiles are similar but sym idk what that does I have 1500 hours on the game lol
@@TurnipNorthrup i play lifeweaver in a very similar way to the way high rank sym otps and moira otps play where im basically sitting on an off angle and baiting people to come duel me otherwise getting good value from my angle
the only valid argument ive heard as to why lifeweaver sucks is he doesnt provide damage in any way at all, everything else is just people overreacting and echoing what dogshit streamers say as usual
Played from the start ,still playing and will play . Cuz hes a male mercy and shits awesome when I save ppl from pull.Orisa players go just when I petel their ults and rage quits ,hehehehhehe.
I used to call him loserweaker. He was awful. He could use some buffs though like. * Bring back parting gift * A fully charged heal would bounce btw allies in short radius with tiny bit of lingering heal. It would reduce no of mouse click. So the mouse does not wear of fast or the players fingers. * Petal platform no longer self-destruct after it is used. It should work like a lift. If no one is using it it goes down and if someone is using it they can be on top as long no one destroy the platform or if LW choose to destroy it. * Initial burst from ult knockback enemies and cleanse all debuffs. Increase the ult cost being the only nerf.
DeFran got to top 500 with life weaver. But I still mostly agree with you. Life weavers play style, just isn’t conducive to overwatch gameplay. His healing is clunky and slow, his damage is slow and inconsistent, his abilities are all reactive instead of proactive. His pull isn’t the saving grace ability everyone thinks it is. All it does is force your team mates to give up valuable important space 90% of the time
People are too bad to play wifeleaver… HE IS SOO BAD No dude your reaction time is just not good. Stay on brig or kiriko with 1 ability. He has multiple abilities and you can see that people with a non functional brain are trained on 1 ability. Shoot, heal, shoot, heal, shoot. Interesting gameplay from big youtubers main support.
Personally i think they should swap his petal platform for illaris pylon as like a littlw tree sapling but its identicle to her pylon and then replace her pylon with his platform but instead of it being a platform she throws a little device that launches teammates who walk into it up so its multy use. Just makes more sense to me
4:20 "Damage is super super important on a character." Bitch, he is a support. Damage shouldn't be his priority. 5:25 wow, what's is wrong with Beifeng? That child has some serious anger issues. Btw, love the music you used. What are the names of the songs?
Honestly he had a road of reworks but he is at a better place. Love playing him NOW as he gives me Mercy/sym vibe gameplay. Also yay for representation for the community 🏳️🌈
The 5 minute intro is far too long, we got it. Already got bored of the video by the time your compilation started, but i was like "alright let's hear them out, they must be really good on lw". No. The first ~5 clips were just you saving yourself with tree and getting like one kill in some of them, lost me after that. Bad hero, not worthless any more but definitely not worth picking in the vast majority of comps
